Dear LIB mums: what would you do if your child goes missing in school

A LIB mum says to ask this question;
"If you go to your child's school to pick him/her up and the school management starts looking for him...for almost 30 minutes...and eventually find him alone in an empty classroom (not his)..what would you do as a parent?

  2. Omg it has definitely happened to me before and it was totally not cool, worst feeling ever I shouted hell at the teachers who where supposed to watch him,and when I found him he was alone he's lunch stolen and he looked very sad,but am glad he's much older now and can take care of himself at least

    1. For the class that he/she was found in to be empty, it means school must have closed long before that time. So, "dear mummy", why did you go for your precious child so late? Did you pay for extra time/day care? I'm not saying the school managent wasn't careless, as a matter of fact, they were. But they are responsible for your child 'during' school hours, and maybe a little after.

  4. Find out why and what he's doing there alone then reconsider his stay in that school as his safety is not guaranteed.

    1. They should better have a good reason for his state at the time they finally found him. And I ll sure do my own research, something would have sure happened. Nevertheless I wonder if the school authority would not even advice my child to withdraw considering the perfect display of madness I would have put up for the first 30mins of the search..............pretty T

  35. I would talk to him and try to find out what's bothering him. If he was in an empty classroom alone and not there because he needed peace and quiet to study, then that means something is wrong with him, and as a mom I would want to find out.

  36. Ask him what's he doing there n who brought him there...

  37. Good thing you saw your child finally... its your duty to ask your child why he or she was alone and what happened...*NEXT*

  46. First and foremost, it will never be our portion! But if it happens, d school authority school be held responsible, cause they are in charge of d chld's wellbeing and security within the school hour. The police should be informed, and the school surrounding should be thoroughly seacrhed even d neighbouring houses near d school, and above all let d parents start praying! Cause na naija we day it could be #kidnappingtinz#

  48. I will question my child first ( if the child is old enough to express him or herself.) Then take it from there. Depending on what my child tell's me, if the child dose not say anything i will take him straight to the doctor for proper check up…then..

  55. It happened to my child too at redeemers teap intl sch abj. I later found my child at the back of classroom on tap pouring himself water. After much begging from the teacher, I let it be but withdrew him the next term, but the later met their match who took them to court when they maltreated his children, it happened that the owner of the sch is madam due process.

  59. Call a meeting with his or her teacher and the principle. Make it known to them that you will be reporting it to the police and you hope it will not happen again. also demand letter of apology and incident form.

    His or her teacher have a responsibility over his or her safety until he/she is in your custody.

  60. Retarded question....start dancing Awilo.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I will ask the school and him questions. I will not take it kindly with the teacher, check my child if he has been molested, because the things that are happening now are really disturbing.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I dont understand all these comments. When the child is not a cripple. Can't he/she just walk out of class after closing time to an empty class? Well, i guess most of una dey refer to private schools sha. Go check public schools. Children go to every class freely whether empty or full. That one no be issue.
