Dear LIB mums: what would you do if your child goes missing in school
A LIB mum says to ask this question;
"If you go to your child's school to pick him/her up and the school management starts looking for him...for almost 30 minutes...and eventually find him alone in an empty classroom (not his)..what would you do as a parent?
Omg it has definitely happened to me before and it was totally not cool, worst feeling ever I shouted hell at the teachers who where supposed to watch him,and when I found him he was alone he's lunch stolen and he looked very sad,but am glad he's much older now and can take care of himself at least
For the class that he/she was found in to be empty, it means school must have closed long before that time. So, "dear mummy", why did you go for your precious child so late? Did you pay for extra time/day care? I'm not saying the school managent wasn't careless, as a matter of fact, they were. But they are responsible for your child 'during' school hours, and maybe a little after.
I will sob, pull myself together, walk up to him/her,gather him/her to myself and softly drop the question "Are you alright hun?".His/her response will determine the next action I take
Ouh! So sweet of you Bonita. What a darling mom. Could actually feel the myth, imagination and softness of that your question. Honestly, the imagination of your intended reaction swells my head...are you married?
@badoo of Toronto. David is. Very very. Right.. she has a good and sweet mother. Tone, with that tone and reaction. Towards ur child. Definitely. You will get the best result. To what ever your child problem is... God bless you Bonita. And. May you be granted lovely kids that will love you more than the love you. Give them
They should better have a good reason for his state at the time they finally found him. And I ll sure do my own research, something would have sure happened. Nevertheless I wonder if the school authority would not even advice my child to withdraw considering the perfect display of madness I would have put up for the first 30mins of the search..............pretty T
It depends on how old d child is, I will ask my child to knw what he was doing there or who kept him or her in dat place. D answer my child will give to me will determine d action to take. 76ABD161
Negligence at its peak! Hmmmm! I wld chng sch if that's what u re waiting to hear!! I will do something dat in the near future suh mistake will never occur!! Linda don't ask what i will do!!
Anything that pertains to the welfare of my kids just brings out the crazy in me... I will go into area girl mode straight and when I'm in that zone; anything can happen mehn...
In the space of 5 minutes that my child has not been found, I'll alert the police.. The police will join in the search and then deal with the school authority afterwards.. I'd just be relieved and thank God he/she is found..and then check for any signs of danger/abnormalities.
God forbid I don't pray 4 missing child.bt if I find him sitting alone in a classroom I we believe he jz want 2 stay alone bt depend on d kind of child i av(I mean ow he use 2 behave).
I am actually not sure...but of course at first panic, anger and when the child is found definitely relief... but after that I really don't know. The childs age also comes into play. Dunno
it happened to my daughter esp during her first week in Nursery one, she left her bag in her class and went to Primary 5 class. when we found her, she ran to me with a smile and i just couldnt do anything but give her a big hug and tell her right there that she got mummy worried, i also told her not to ever leave her class without telling her teacher.
I would talk to him and try to find out what's bothering him. If he was in an empty classroom alone and not there because he needed peace and quiet to study, then that means something is wrong with him, and as a mom I would want to find out.
Linda na bcos u dey dash money dis days na wetin make u no dey publish my comments again bcos u don't want me to be the winner..No wahala am already blessed. Remain bless
Linda point of correction, what would someone, not me, do if someone's child is missing at school? Though am not a lib mom but i lib guy. My take is dat d school will get missing too. Do me i do u things on point! BILAL
After askn him with love what he was doing there, proper steps can be taken afterwards.... But prayin 4 him is important, even if it means wiv d pastor. Then give him proper lecturing in d home, with love. ***yeancah***
First and foremost, it will never be our portion! But if it happens, d school authority school be held responsible, cause they are in charge of d chld's wellbeing and security within the school hour. The police should be informed, and the school surrounding should be thoroughly seacrhed even d neighbouring houses near d school, and above all let d parents start praying! Cause na naija we day it could be #kidnappingtinz# Mamafunkky@gmail.com
I will question my child first ( if the child is old enough to express him or herself.) Then take it from there. Depending on what my child tell's me, if the child dose not say anything i will take him straight to the doctor for proper check up…then..
No 1 d fear in ur body wil diappear,u won't knw if u ar to scold or beat him, best is dnt talk take dat child home, quietly ask him y he was dere alone, den if d reason was lame ,denn I wil flogg d hell out of you bt if d reason was good den I wil hv to sort it out, kabishhhhh#bebo#
It happened to my child too at redeemers teap intl sch abj. I later found my child at the back of classroom on tap pouring himself water. After much begging from the teacher, I let it be but withdrew him the next term, but the later met their match who took them to court when they maltreated his children, it happened that the owner of the sch is madam due process.
Call a meeting with his or her teacher and the principle. Make it known to them that you will be reporting it to the police and you hope it will not happen again. also demand letter of apology and incident form.
His or her teacher have a responsibility over his or her safety until he/she is in your custody.
I will ask the school and him questions. I will not take it kindly with the teacher, check my child if he has been molested, because the things that are happening now are really disturbing.
I dont understand all these comments. When the child is not a cripple. Can't he/she just walk out of class after closing time to an empty class? Well, i guess most of una dey refer to private schools sha. Go check public schools. Children go to every class freely whether empty or full. That one no be issue.
Just 30 muinites and people are ranting ....you should hear every side of the story before judging....ask him how he got there?? is the school small or large?? some kids can be very naughty o.....i remember when mine disappeared to science lab because of her love for the subject ..the minders had to lookand look b4 the found her engrossed in a book. but lets get all the facts first
I will just take my child home, when i get home i will undress him nd check his body 2 make sure he wasn't molested after that i will question him. uzodimmajane@yahoo.com.
if i happens 2 be d one but God 4bid. i will go to him, check him up to ensure that his ok. then i will calmly ask him what the problem is, by petting him first before the question. i believe he will tell me. i will then take him home.
