If sex had no pleasure aspect to it, if you only did it to reproduce, the human species may in fact die out. So men think they're seeking out pleasure. When in fact, its their body sending the right signals to get reproduction going. How many guys have, immediately after doing the deed, wondered why the hell they bothered with the chick in the first place? Couldn't wait to get their clothes on and get the hell out? or get her the hell out?
Risking shame, embarrassment, causing real pain to the people you love and for what? 15 minutes or 1 hour (some real supermen out there) of pleasure? Nah. There's something else going on there. Something a lot more compelling to risk all that.
The real question, Linda, isn't why do men cheat. That's easy. The real question is, why do men make promises they have no intention of keeping?

ReplyDeletefor some the above suffice, but the real reason is simply because most women are self centered, as a result they don't do anything to satisfy their man they only satisfy themselves and convince themselves they're satisfying him. They don't pay attention to the things the man really need and feel "well he's a man" he should "tough it up" men know they aren't expected to be weak so they tough it up and find those qualities in others and keep you to manage your own qualities. phew!

ReplyDeleteMen do what they do because they are made that way. You said we all know cheating is wrong but we all do it. But why do YOU call it cheating? I guess cos your pastor or church says so!! But has it always been this way? I say NO. This idea that a relationship should involve one man one woman came with the Roman Empire. They promoted strict monogamy (even though they had numerous mistresses!) which they enforced when they took over the Roman Catholic Church. The whole idea was so strange to the people of that time that they called it ROMANtic - hence ROMANTIC love!! What could be more romantic than a man and a woman together to the exclusion of any other! Buts it has always been artificial. Even the Romans kept mistresses and abused their slaves and servants while pretending in public. The people of God, the Jews, were more open and realistic. God's wahala with David, for example, was not cos he had many wives and concubines but cos he went after another man's wife (by the way that is the only adultery recognised by the Bible). In nature animals (some people will say we are not animals! Ok deceive yourselves) pair-bond ( that is marry) but this only occurs in stress situations like famine. A male and female come together and defend an area with their offsprings? against other animals but as soon as food is abundant again everyone goes on their merry way! Modern man has decided to make himself miserable by over stressing on 'cheating' but the fact remains that it can never stop cos deep down it is not natural!! Scientist have studied it and have come to the conclusion that it does not occur anywhere (be it man or animal) in nature.

When your wife is making life difficult for you, either in bed, home-making, personal hygeine-wise, i tell you lindy, you get totally pissed & turned off. That's when the man starts getting interested in other women who can do better in whatever way the wife is deficient.

Get me straight, am not in support of cheating or multiple partner but there is what the bible calls a Besetting Sin. For a man sex is often Besetting just like gossip, quarrel and malice are Besetting for women.

I grew up in a polygamous home and I hated every bit of it. I got married 10 yrs ago to an angel of a wife and told myself I will never cheat on my wife no matter what.
I do my best as a husband...provide a house...bought her a car I am very well to do and good looking too. I know this coz I have had many girls who wanted a piece of me but I said no. Simply coz...I dont want to cheat on my wife....

I caught my wife cheating!
She was sleeping with a family friend who is a mutual friend of both of us. Theyve been doing it for two years...in my bed...in my living room...without me knowing
I was broken....shattered etc.
Oh yes....I was going to kill this guy when I got to know...but I just walked out of the house for days...to calm my head...coz...I would have done something to him that would put me in Jail.
Oh yes...am still married. But I can never trust any woman. No matter what.

Well from personal experience,I'll conclude that most of the reasons why men cheat always comes from the women/Ladies.let me relate this personal experience of mine,am actually into a distant relationship of 4 yrs,she's based in delta state and schools there.actually and am in lag.we talk on phone almost everyday,she calls me more.I love her no doubt and I know our feelings are mutual.We came arround last month and before then the last time we saw was last year december.to cut the story short na hin my barbie dey form tired for me ooo? She did that the first day I think say na play,she come dey give me time to enter promise land oo even after knowing am a stallion! So why won't I cheat? I control Olosho for her front sharp sharp,she think na play.

I have been married for 6 years and cheated once within the first 6months of marriage. Why did I do it? Back then, I called it unfinished business. But after the deed was done, I told my wife about it and eventually was forgiven and I had been faithful since then.
ReplyDeleteWhy do men cheat? Its a problem with discipline! Every time a man cheats, a decision was made to do so. He is faced with the option to either cheat or not cheat - irrespective of what the pressures or temptations might be. Ultimately, he is the one that makes a decision to do it!
Admittedly cheating might be the easier decision to make but he is still making a decision. Also, circumstances may predispose him to cheating by massaging his weaknesses but the decision to do so is still in the hands of the man and no one else.
Thus, every reason we men may provide for cheating is ultimately just the push factor. The true reason (the one that keeps you moving in the direction the "push factor" nudges you) many men cheat is that they decide to and justify their decision using the push factor.
I cannot claim that making the decision not to cheat is easy because it isn't, which is why many do cheat. Unfortunately women often do not help making this decision easier - they have set themselves up as a mega source of temptation.
However, hard or not, I have made that decision over and over again and found ways to help make it easier for me - and the most valuable of these were leaning on God and working discussing matters with my wife.
Why do many cheat? Probably the same reason there are more poor people than there are rich - humans are just so predisposed to making poor decisions! You want to be rich, its about the decisions you make on a daily basis and they ain't easy decisions to make. You want to be faithful? Same thing!
I do not cheat on my wife but I barely get any sex. Its like once in 2 weeks, there's always one excuse or the other - too busy, sick, PMS, tired etc. I cant say the thought of cheating doesn't cross my mind sometimes.
