Pics: Abike Dabiri, RMD, Olu Jacobs & more attend at Amaka Igwe's Tribute Night

Family, friends, colleagues and Nollywood practitioners, gathered for a special Service of Songs/Tribute Night on Monday, June 9th at the Haven Events Centre at GRA Ikeja in honour of Nollywood icon/producer, Amaka Igwe, who passed away on the 29th of April 2014.

Guests included; Abike Dabiri, RMD, Bukky Ajayi, Wunmi Obe, Olu Jacobs, Onyeka Onwenu, Kunle Bantefa, Ngozi Nwosu, Bimbo Akintola, Nobert and Gloria Young, Patrick and Ireti Doyle, Tony Umez, Kanayo .O. Kanayo, Ego Boyo, Ali Baba, Teju Babyface and a host of others. Continue to see more photos...


Amaka Igwe will be buried on Friday, June 13th 2014 at Ndiuche Arondizuogu in Imo State, her marital home.

  11. In less than two months nigeria lost two of her gratest and finest female minds #AMAKA + DORA ...... Lord have mercy on us.... Amaka a great mother, mentor to me and a god to my fiancee , I still remember when I shot my first film 'RUDE GIRLS" in 2006 she gave me hope, her words till I die ill always cherrish... I still love u plenty and ll always when am faced with any challenge in this field ill still ask myself " wat would Mama do if she was the one? " May the good lord continue to bless her soul R.I.P Mama uwa n'ile .

  26. So many veterans. Reminds me of brilliant nollywood movies I watched in d past. Why must something tragic happen for amazing people to gather. If it were to be her birthday, most of them wouldn't turn up. I really do miss d faces I see here on screen. I hope present directors engage them often. I also hope Amaka Igwe's works would be reintroduced to d market. She knew her craft well. May God shine his perpetual light on her as she rests in his bossom n may he grant her family n friends d fortitude to bear d loss. Amen.
