Photos: See what Lagos-Benin-Ore/Ibadan-Ilorin roads look like now

Here's what the Lagos-Benin-Ore road looks like currently. This road used to be a death trap. So good that this government made it a priority...but no need for too much praise...lol...This is what they are supposed to do in the first place. See what Ibadan-Ilorin road looks like now after the cut...

  86. So when Is the street lights coming? Or contractor don chop d money ni? Stl a death trap at night if no streetlights pls Nd also robbers den

    ReplyDelete
  87. Do not, I repeat do not be fooled by this picture. The stretch from Lagos to Ore, The Ogun State stretch, where our open letter writing ex-present hails from, is still a death trap. Motorist to this day have to drive on the on-coming traffic part of the road. It is HELL travelling through that road. I have been on the road recently and Linda till you get the full details and pictures do not join our scheming politicians in fooling Nigerians. In my opinion it is better there is no road there than the torture that I have to go through whenever I ply that route.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Street lights are necessary on parts of the highway that are close to residential areas, otherwise it is not necessary. You cannot put street lights on a no-man's land in the middle of nowhere. If that pic is real, then that's a relief. I would have loved more lanes (3 or 4 lanes) in both direction.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Highly commendable indeed - given that these "death trap" roads have been there through several military regimes and civilian administrations before the president with GOODLUCK came along. Kudos to GEJ.

And I will not praise a government for doing the very thing they were elected to do, it is not a favor, it is a right. Finally we need to ask the government how the intend implementing a sustainable framework for road maintenance. We don't want a situation where the road dilapidates due to lack of maintenance. To be honest here.....sometimes I didn't have anything against our leaders but I have it with we youth that suppose to see with our open eyes and embrace one and other no matter what part of the country we are from, religion and tribe. we criticized ourselves than our leaders does. Can we just think positive for 2 minutes and stop selling any candidate for 2015? We have the power to make this country great or bad cause we are 50m population.

  116. I feel so sad about this! How can the largest economy in africa be so happy about two short two-lane highways?? The last time I saw people this happy is here where a major commuter freeway was extended to 7 lanes each side plus 2-lane eash side toll/hov lane. This was from crowded but fully safe and functional 3 lanes each side. The celebration was for the change in commute time in half not that they wont die on way home on that road. Shame!!

  117. Its a continuous process and its coming your way.

We must all embrace our transformation agenda. Can't you see that light overcomes darkness. The rouges in our government can't stand the present transformation. This transformation started from the PDP. Now its reformed, born again and all things has become new.

  140. Linda....Ibadan/Ilorin road is not complete het. Remains the Oyo/Ogbomosho section to make it complete and that has been abandoned for a while now. than and only when that section is complete can we give the FG the Job well done they deserve....even though this should have been completed durin OBYs' era

  143. Is this how the road looks from Lagos to Benin or is this just a section of the road?

  145. What portion of Ibadan - Ilorin Road, bearing in mind that it is only Ogbomoso - Ilorin and Ibadan - Oyo Road that are now completed and motorable in addition to the fact that they are both shorter than Oyo Ogbomosho Road which is very difficult to ply.It is not commendable for anyone to disseminate information with a view to deceiving people, more so Jonathan was not the one who even commenced the project and not until when the greater part of the road - Oyo/Ogbomosho has been completed, no kudos to anyone including Obasanjo.

  149. EVERY YEAR, IT IS ANNOUNCED THAT THE LAGOS BENIN ROAD HAS BEEN FIXED BUT WHENEVER I GET TO TRAVEL THROUGH THE ROAD, THE ROAD STILL REMAINS A DEATHTRAP WHERE ONE SPENDS SEVERAL UNCOMFORTABLE HOURS...

ONLY A LITTLE PORTION OF THE ROAD HAS PRESENTLY BEEN FIXED YET POLITICIANS WILL SPREAD MISLEADING PICTURES IN THEIR BID TO DECEIVE THE GULLIBLE MASSES...

IT IS EVEN MORE DISHEARTENING THAT POPULAR BLOGS WILL ALSO HELP THESE POLITICIANS SPREAD THEIR FALSEHOOD WITHOUT CONFIRMING THE INFORMATION FIRST... LINDA IKEJI, I AM DISSAPPOINTED IN YOU.. A FRIEND OF MINE TRAVELLED FROM WARRI TO LAGOS SOME WEEKS AGO AAND COMPLAINED BITTERLY ABOUT THE STATE OF THAT ROAD..

IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT WHILE OUR POLITICIANS HAVE DECEIVED US FOR DECADES, NIGERIANS HAVE CONTINUED TO BE GULLIBLE AND HAVE STUBBORNLY REFUSED TO BE SMART..

  150. Plenty talk........ I though hate it when people come and say rubbish. This is so benin to ore at least I travelled at least once or twice to et fro lagos to benin. The other parts of the road from ore down to lagos is a serious death trap.

  151. Before you all start making noise of praising. Where are the street lights? This is even more dangerous cos cars will be speeding at night with their full headlights on and more cause for accidents!!!!
