Photos: Protesting LASU students take over Lagos Govt House, cook meal there

Students of the Lagos State University (LASU) yesterday Thursday June 5th took their protest to the Lagos State Government House in Alausa ,Ikeja, where they barricaded the main entrance with their buses and remained there for hours. When they got hungry, they turned brought out their big pots, ingredients, firewood, made a fire and prepared a meal right there in front of the Government House gate. No time! Lol. The students prepared beans and ate it with bread.

The students are protesting the recent hike in their school fees, and asking Lagos State governor to intervene on their behalf. They vowed to remain at the scene until they got a positive response from the governor. They were eventually forced to leave when no official spoke with them but vowed to return until their demands are met. See more photos after the cut...

  25. Point of correction, we are nt asking d governor to intervene, we are telling him to reduce d fee or no LASU. Afterall he was d same person who introduced d ridiculus fee, so dere is no way we can ask him to intervene 4 us

  37. Students should better start thinking about their future and stop playing with it. i see no reason y u will complain about hike in school fees after you were told not to accept the admission if you cant afford it. Your mate are progressing in other schools while you are at Government house cooking Beans that wont last forever.

    6. 9:26, wt stupid truth, look around u for Christ sake? How much does dt your father with his stolen wealth pay his driver monthly? Does d driver not hv a right to send his children to school? Or since he can't afford 350k like yr dad can, his kids shouldn't go to school but work at your house as slaves abi? I pity this country, if d common man can't afford to send their children to school, these same children will become robbers n make like miserable for u so called rich kids!
