Senate Okays Emergency Rule in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa

The Senate today gave its nod for the extension of Emergency Rule in the troubled North East states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa. The House of Reps had on May 15th approved the extension.

With the Senate's approval, extension of Emergency Rule by the Federal Government can now be effected by 6 months.

  21. I don't understand why civilians ( as in their state government ) are still in control when they are under emergency rule shouldn't it be the military ruling those states .

  27. To effectively put a stop to BH activities, let d Govs, Legislators, Chairmen & Councillors be at home for 6months in d three States. They are with d solutions as people representatives. Try it. BH deadly activities will come to an end.
