  5. That's the only people the Nigerian police knows how to flex their muscles on.The real men are in sambisa forest & yet the police boys are here playing Lord & master on helpless protesters. Is that what mama peace means when she said she can more than the bereaved? Just because the Borno first lady refused to honour her IV doesn't mean all the other women in the state should be left to their fate na.Her beef should be with the Borno 1st lady and nt all borno women. The police had better release this woman o !

  10. Why does our security operatives always getting it wrong, they always have a wrong approach? I hope its not the 1st lady's word that effecting itself? When she said that any women that protest and police arrest her, that's not her problem?

  17. Mbok why didn't they start dis protest from bornu state governors lodge? They carried their two left legs straight to Abuja. In case y'all don’t know... Nigeria is a democratic state with that uses federalism style of government....your governor is first responsible for you before d president. There is only so much the president can do!!! That is why there are Governors. He cant be in charge of everything at the same time!!! Nigerians should learn to begin to hold their Governors responsible. They come to Abuja to collect billions of Naira, then go to their states, become figure heads and start calling Jonathan. NONSENSE.

A peaceful protest was held in Manhattan New York with the slogan bring back our girls#, another in Uk. Welcome to a country like Nigeria were Human right are abusive everyday and were human lives mean nothing.

  41. Madam Oby. Really appreciate your efforts in trying to make things right but we have to trade with caution on certain issues. If the exact words of the arrested woman was that 1 of the girls is her daughter ..then she asked for the arrest for deceiving the public.' Those girls are also my daughter would have been more appropriate' .The state of the country is very fragile right now that we have to be cautious on the information we give out. Say it the the way it is, so that Nigeria people can draw their conclusions , deduction and assumptions on facts based on truth. They should STOP messing with our head and mind. This issue is of Paramount importance so we need less or no deceit for us to have a clearer picture and possible solutions. Matching on the street will not solve this. MATCH to ASO ROCk . if possible set up a committee to meet the presidency. Seek continuous feedback on the matter and give your contributions on the way forward. What we want is actions and not chantings on the street. Take the chantings to the presidency and Born state government. And all that did not do due diligence there by exposing the lives of these girls to security risk should be prosecuted. When people start paying for their sins...others will park well. God help Nigeria

  46. First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan was all tears yesterday at a meeting she convened in Abuja over the abduction of school girls in Chibok, Borno State.

Her first meeting on Friday set up a committee headed by the Borno State governor’s wife to ensure attendance at yesterday’s meeting. But the governor’s wife did not attend.

Mrs Jonathan was said to have wept when she learnt that the school had no stand-by power generator.

Besides, no extra security was provided at the school, she was told.

She was devastated that the governor’s wife did not show up for the meeting on Friday and yesterday.

The First Lady insisted that the state government and the Commissioner for Education should be blamed for the abduction of the girls as they allegedly failed to act on the letter from the Minister of Education for relocation of West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE) candidates to Maiduguri or safer places.

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the school’s principal disagreed at the meeting over the number of candidates for English and Maths in the school.

Among those that did not show up for the meeting were parents of the girls who escaped from the insurgents and teachers from the school.

Also, no student who escaped from the terrorists came for the meeting.

The vigilante group, wife of the Chibok village head, the gateman of the school, chairman and secretary of the Parent Teachers Association and the school matron were also absent.

As part of measures geared towards eliciting useful information that could help security agents in the ongoing effort at finding and rescuing female students recently abducted by terrorists, suspected to be Boko-Haram, in Chibok, Borno State, Police Operatives this morning, 05/05/2014 invited one Mrs Nyadar Naomi Mutah, a native of Chibok and Deputy Director at the National Directorate of Employment, Abuja.

It was purely an interactive and fact finding interview. Mrs Nyadar cooperated with the Police in the course of the interview and was immediately allowed to return home to her loved ones. She was never arrested nor detained as being wrongly speculated in some quarters.

Meanwhile, the Police and other security agencies are leaving no stone unturned at ensuring that the abducted school children are rescued.

Mrs Ezekwesili is an APC Member who has been promised the Position of the Secretary to the Government of Federation or Minister of Foreign Affairs. Hey, Madam, we are talking of a very important National Issue, and a Women is lying. What do you want? You were Minister of Education for 2 Years. You could not address ASUU Problems. Jonathan did. Please stop wagging your Mouth and re-apply to come back to the Class Room if you so desire and stop this campaign of Calumny and Prejudice. Our Pay Package is now very attractive.
