North Korean leader executes engineers behind collapsed building that killed 500

According to two Chinese newspapers, North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un ordered the execution by firing squad of 4 design and construction engineers who built the 23-storey building that collapsed in the capital of Pyongyang on May 13th 2014 leading to the death of about 500 people.

92 families lived in the building as at the time it collapsed and most of the people killed were top intelligence and security officials. Kim Jong Un gave a rare public apology to North Koreans after the collapse occurred and ordered an inquiry. The four engineers were reportedly executed last week.

The main cause of the building collapse remains unclear but shoddy construction is said to be a likely cause because onsite directors and workers often smuggle out steel and cement to sell in black market

Kim Jong-Un has been reported to execute anyone who falls short of his expectations, including members of his own family. Killing engineers though? Who supports this?

  42. Might seem a bit extreme, but I'd say the punishment just about fits the crime. Engineers are supposed to be held to a higher standard of ethics and accountability because, unlike a lot of other professions, a design error by an engineer almost always results in loss of lives. You just can't afford to be wrong... If the numbers don't add up in the design phase, they sure as hell are not going to add up when u start the development phase.

  60. I support biko! Let it be a warning! If I have to kill 10 to secure the lives of millions I will! I wish they'd start this in Nigeria! The country will be better! These our thieving directors, perm secs, contractors, they'll stop their crap and start working! It may be harsh! But so is life! If you are given money to construct road, you chop the money, then someone has accident on that road and dies! I'll kill u, and anyone that enjoyed 1kobo from that money! Including your dog! Just for good measures! I will not berate this man for what he did!

  65. I don't know about killing one's family member for falling short of expectation. I will not answer a yes or a no as to whether he is right or wrong. All i know is that this is the kind of punishment that should be meted out to all of our thieving, lying, murderous and corrupt leaders.
I strongly believe that when we have a leader like dis(not military o), that will follow through trial processes and prosecute defaulters, corruption will be a thing of the past in our dear country.
500 lives? Security personnels? How sure are we that this is not sabotage?
