House of Reps approves extension of Emergency rule in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa

The House of Reps, today May 15th approved the extension of emergency rule in the troubled states of Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states, after a crucial closed door meeting with security chiefs.

President Jonathan had sent a letter to members of the National Assembly a few days ago requesting for extension of emergency rule in the three states.
The Senate would have to agree to this too before it can be fully effected. Their own deliberation and voting will take place May 20th. Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states have been the worst hit since the emergency of Boko Haram.

  7. A welcome development..the insurgency has been on since 2009 so the FG will definitely need more time to put a stop to it especially now that the Nigeria army is said to have been infiltrated by the deadly BH!
