Graphic pics: Suspected female ritualist set ablaze by a mob in Abule Egba

Can the Lagos State government please make jungle justice a crime punishable by many years in prison? This can't continue happening. We as citizens can't keep taking the laws into our hands. Other wise innocent people will suffer too. The pics from this scene is so gory, I don't know if I should share it.

The woman pictured above was accused of attempting to kidnap three primary school pupils in the Ekoro area of Abule-Egba, Lagos yesterday May 6th. Eye-witnesses claim the woman stopped the kids, who were aged 7-10 years as they were going to school, and asked to take them to school.

Then a female hawker in the area, suspecting the woman was up to no good, alerted others in the area who then surrounded the woman and started asking her questions. They say the woman claimed they were her children but couldn't give their names and the direction she was taking them wasn't where their school was...plus the children said they didn't know her and before anyone could stop it, they descended on the woman. Beating her to a stupor and then setting her ablaze.

    3. What is this? why why why? Nigeria is too backward. have they considered the possibility of the woman developing a sudden psychological or mental problem that may have led her to take those kids? Until a person is tried and fully convicted of a crime. he/she remains a suspect and not a criminal. this jungle justice is an archaic tradition and doesn't speak well of Nigeria in these times

A friend saw this happen first hand yesterday, and from what he said, it was really horrible, and also two child kidnappers were caught in my area yesterday, the kidnappers caught a school pupil and forcefully put him into the back of a jeep and speed off, an eye witness that saw them, who also noticed the child was shouting for help alerted the Omo-onile's around and they chased the jeep with bike and caught them, and they were handed over to police, this ritualist and kidnapping is not painting a good picture of this country

Nigerians need to be taught a lesson in jungle justice! Why on Earth would they start killing when it's not yet certain that she is a ritualist? Lin Lin,the Nigerian Govt care less about all these things. Only Yorubas can do this act cos Igbos won't do such,we have human heart!

Let's stop sabotaging the government please. Let's help them to help us. This must stop.these are common criminals in their own right that set this woman on fire,it's not like they are any better. No God fearing christain would set another human being ablaze, this is the work of heathens. Have we forgotten so quickly the aluu four ? Jungle justice is not the best.let's work hand in hand with the authorities in cases like this and stop all this unneccessary killing. If the woman is handed over to the police, the police will eventually collec bribe and set her free to start her kidnapping bussiness again. But with this the bussiness for her is gone and it will serve as a deterrent to others

  36. This is not right! Misdirected frustrations. Why wasn't she properly, questioned? With too many people questioning her,she may have gotten confused and afraid? She just may have been genuinely trying to help these kids but couldn't answer where she was taking them to as the kids hadn't directed her. We are always too quick to vent out frustrations on ourselves! That's how the aluu innocent four were murdered. If the thirst for blood is so strong,ASO ROCK is still within our vicinity (Nigeria)!
Let's be calm and tamper justice with mercy! Tempers are running too high and maybe rightfully so but this is no way to treat ourselves. This is wrong!!! Where was the police?!!! Let's all be mindful, about the type of seeds we are sowing in people's lives, especially if they are innocent. God is very much in business.

  39. It's unfortunate that I am a Nigerian. What sort of barbaric and inhumane people would do this. The story doesn't even make sense to me that would warrant it escalating to the point that it did.... God plz come down and take your children home. The evil in this world is becoming overbearing. How can people burn a fellow human being and then watch. Those people are indeed animals and should be shot dead themselves. Recently I saw a young boy of 12 selling plantain I was moved and called him towards my car and gave him 1000naira but with the way things are going I think I wld just keep my good deed to myself before they accuse me of rituals cos its obvious some people in nigeria are growing mad and out of frustration looking for who to kill...

  40. Blood of God! Linda don't take it down just yet, let people see it, especially people in authority. So that they can know law needs to be passed on jungle justice.

  41. It is really unfortunate but everything is usually two sided. A few years ago, I would have wholly been on your side of this opinion but having been a victim of abduction myself, I am no longer in a hurry to jump to d defence of abductors. She may or may not have been innocent but with the current situation in matters of abduction in Nigeria today, little wonder that the mob decided to take laws into their hands. If she was innocent and d police was brought in she would have been freed, if she was not innocent and d police was brought in she still would have walked free, because of our weak investigative styles and law, making it unbearably painful for the victims of abduction and their families. It is sad that it happened but like I earlier stated, every story is two sided.

    ReplyDelete
  169. This is someone's Mother, Sister, Aunty, Wife and possibly Grandmother. It all boils down to the people's distrust of and contempt for the police. Too many bitter souls in this country who are angry with the government end up taking out their frustrations on possibly innocent people. Jungle Justice not the way.

    ReplyDelete
  170. This is so sad, how were they sure she was really a kidnapper? This is inhumane. .

  172. Half of the people you see walking around acting as tho they are decent people doing their own business are murderers or how else can u explain their readiness to kill another human being at d slightest alarm?how can people who have mothers and sisters and daughters just burn another to death without proving if the person is guilty or not?if ur child/brother/sister/parents stole would u readily burn them to death?our country is still full of babarians,we need to spend time in prayers for our country.
