Musician Gift Uwama popularly known as Muma Gee and her actor
husband, Prince Oluemebe Eke welcomed a set of twins, a boy and a girl, on April 18th in Port Harcourt. The singer in a recent interview with Encomium mag explained why she chose to give birth in Nigeria instead of traveling abroad like most of her colleagues do.
"I am a great woman and I wasn't born abroad. I was born in Rivers state. So my children will also be great. The hospital is in Rivers state. I am not one of those who would travel abroad and spend a lot of money to deliver their babies. I have told myself I will deliver in Nigeria and the children and I will all succeed here"
She also expressed her joy over the birth of her bundles of joy. See that after the cut...
"I am excited. I am elated. I am very happy and thankful to God Almighty. Words are not enough to express our feeling. I will say I am overwhelmed. It is like God, is this me? Are these beautiful babies for us? How did this happen? What have we done to deserve this miracle? I was not initially expecting twins. All I knew was that I started getting big and bigger. And people would see me and say, oh, you are looking so beautiful. I didn't believe I was going to have twins. We thank God."
Is that question to be answered by his fans or she herself. she should ask herself that and answer herself jor...
ReplyDeleteWOW! I just love this woman! See theshocking photo of popular singer that every one is talkiing about!
DeleteIts a good thing dear. I feel ur joy congrats
Deletethank GOD for that OoO... Wait a minute ,is because you weren't given birth abrod or what?
DeleteGod is full of surprises and i pray he surprises me soon 2. Congrates Muma Gee
DeleteThis is my definition of 'oro ase'...
DeleteShut up... Just because they didn't give you visa. If not you will be running to America like your mates well. People are running to give birth abroad because of the future of their children... You are busy saying rubbish just to make your self feel good
DeleteDear Muma Gee,
DeleteIt is Old news that you're broke. It's also common knowledge that your 'husband' isn't thaaat wealthy, hence the stupid prince title. Prince of where exactly? Industry road or D line in port harcourt?
Frankly we were content being just happy for you till you brought this up and this upon yourself.
Pls just sTFU and breastfeed the twin. Trust me, if u were any responsible, you shouldn't have time for interviews, yet! #okbye

Abeg talk true.. Dem no give you visa or you broke

DeleteNa mumu em b naaa big fool
DeleteNa mumu em b
DeleteHuman beings na wa oo..Mercy gave birth abroad..una wan chop her..dis one gave birth here..nw its shez broke..kai..LMAO
DeletePeople give birth abroad bcos dey want to enjoy epidural analgesia which is yet to be introduced in Nigeria. Its an injection whch wen given to a woman in labour, numbs all d labour pains and she won't feel any pain whyl giving birth. That's d main reason y pple travel abroad to birth deir kids.
DeleteIts clear to me dt u haven't gone d journey of giving birth cos epidural has been in Naija for many years now.Pls make sure you do some findings before u come up with ur opinion.
DeleteYou lie my dear. There are hospitals in Nigeria that administer Epi, like the hospital I gave birth at NISA Premier in Abuja does it, and there are several others in Abuja and Lagos. So get ur facts right. In my opinion, Nigerians travel out for delivery cos of Better medical facilities, secure a better future for their kids, "do what others are doing".
DeleteYou are a true Nigerian Muma Gee
ReplyDeleteHypocrite Nigerians, you say uk and america are sodom and gomorahh because of gay people, so why are you going there to birth your kids, stay in nigeria, a religious God fearing nation and birth ypu kids, bunch of fools
DeleteIf she gave birth in Nigeria because of the reasons she gave, then Thumbs up to her. (y) (y)
Delete.......But if she gave birth here in Nigeria cos she didn't have the money to travel abroad, then she's deciving herself at old age.
U r an idiot for saying d
DeleteIs that question for her fans or herself. She should ask herself and answer herself that jor.
ReplyDeleteQuiet jor,congrats 2 dem.
DeleteSoo happy for them. .. May God continue to bless and keep them..
ReplyDelete* My R1.50c comment *
Nice one bt i smell being broke in part of wt shes sayin sha
ReplyDeleteThat's not nice to say. You ain't her account officer..
DeleteBut it's kinda true, she should just rejoice that she gave birth, period. Abroad or no abroad shouldn't even matter to her. The fact that she's ushering the opportunity to insinuate that people who had their babies abroad are looking down on the country or feel like they can never make it in Nigeria is also not very nice on her part. Different people do different things for different reasons. Congratulations on the babies though.
DeleteThe health sector needs to be improved in this country
ReplyDeleteCongrats swt
ReplyDeletewow I love this lady
ReplyDeleteSeriously??? Na talk b dis? So pple giving birth abroad are less loving of dier roots? Misplaced priorities... Check ur self plz...

DeleteAnon 1:03 stop harrassing onyxx!he has a right to his opinion on this blog just like every other persons here! It doesn't matter if that is all he has going for him! It is his life remember and he has right over his life and what he does with it. Why are Nigerians so oppressive in nature?why do you people derive so much joy in taunting, bullying and abusing other people?yet when a post on how govt oppresses its citizens is up here u lots cry injustice!that is hypocrisy!you are no different from them cos if given the opportunity you do same!I have noticed with dismay how you people bully onyx here! Gosh Nigerians are so loveless and wicked in nature!why cant we show a little love to others! Why always be on the oppressive side! That is the reason *NG* is where it is today as a nation!look at the Ayogus case killed by his fellow brothers cos of lovelessness and oppressive spirit! U may think wat u are doing is nothing but this is how human oppression starts, when you think you have an edge to bully and oppress someone or join in the act cos others are doing it! The moment we start loving one another that Is the time we will become respected as a nation by other nation and ofcourse we will become a great nation and have better governance! By the way onyx I am voting for u on the Idol competition goodluck!
DeleteAnnonyshit.2:57., with all these your long write up. U ended up making no point.. 2 things are involved, it's either you are gay or planning to be. U don't expect people to be friendly with a he-goat. So Stfu..

Na who nor get money go say beer dey bitter*hehehehe*
ReplyDeleteMake she just admit say she no get money to go abroad instead of talking rubbish. Who won't wnt to go abroad and have a child where u are sure of good health care
ReplyDeleteShut up and say what u know. U must not even pay ur bills immediately b4 u leave the hospital after giving birth in america. Its nt about being broke. Evry average nigerian can afford it. Depends on ur priorities. And what sense does it make forming u went to america to have a baby and u come bak nt paying bills, and u spend the next year sending everything u make in nigeria to offset ur bills. Americans having finished regarding black americans, its now naija ppl born in america. Use ur head ppl
DeleteYou are obviously retarded...trying going to give birth abroad without money na. Idiot! Talking what u don't knw. Hosp bills is like 10k dollars minus upkeep n ticket. So retard shut up. If she cld she wld have. Stop justifying nonsense talk with baseless facts
DeleteReally? So you mean if someone volunteered to sponsor your delivery abroad you would have rejected it? Ummm!
ReplyDeleteThank God for her life. She may have the money to deliver abroad but its not everyone who is a huge fan of giving birth abroad(but swag dey to give birth abroad shaa)ur child gets to be a citizen over dere *winks*
ReplyDeleteAll I see is a broke gal trying to sound patriotic ,,, if you can afford the comfort and the benefits attached to having your babies in a more equipped and sophisticated hospital y not ??? ,, naija hospitals where anything can go wrong and nobody cares cos life is cheap + the dirty nurses that flock around hospitals who ve no clue about human care, pls madam muma say it you are broke and the nigga hussy is doing nothing meaningful to alleviate una condition ,. Congrats all the same
ReplyDeleteGiving birth here or abroad is nothing. The most important is to have safety delivery. Just thank God madam, Forget that story. ⌣̊┈̥-̶̯͡»̶̥♡thanks ⌣̊┈̥-̶̯͡»̶̥

DeleteFirst time to comment. I am not a Nigerian though am African. I have been asking myself why Nigerians are so into abroad...is it that Nigeria has the worst health services in Africa or you guys are brainwashed????? Even in your movies, they would not end without a mention of US or UK...guys you are a biggest African economy now...be proud of what you have no matter how little....
ReplyDeleteShut your trap.

ReplyDeleteMuma Gee is a rich woman, married to a prince, a rich one at that....
ReplyDeleteits not poverty....its her choice.
i congratulate them again.
She shouldnt say such, one man's meat is another's poison........so stop hating woman, just admit u dnt av the money to give birth abroad.
ReplyDeletePeople !!! oh No!!! no money period,, America is a promising land where everyone wants to be so why her? .........mummy Ada
ReplyDeleteShe is stupid. People don't give birth abroad because they don't love their country but because our hospitals still have high rates of mortality. you hardly hear of women dieing of child birth in developed countries. But in africa it is very common so people who can afford to excape that do it and in the process they also acquire in most case a passport and the promise a higher quality free education for their kids.
ReplyDeleteShe is now stupid because she said her mind? What happened to congratulations on the arrival of her twins! U so hating you could not say that? People and their reasoning. Grow up Dlapikin.
DeleteThat's so so good.
ReplyDeleteMuma Gee u & I know dat ur given birth in Nigerian is not about being proud of ur heritage anything.

ReplyDeleteCorrect woman. I like your mindset.
ReplyDeleteMuma Gee, there is more to life than trying to explain yourself to the masses. You chose to have your kids in Nigeria; others chose to have theirs abroad and.....? Please reserve your energy for your twins, you will be needing it.
ReplyDeleteMuma Gee, reserve your energy and time for your twins; you'll be needing it.

ReplyDeleteI always see complex speaking when people compare themselves with others. This is just like when Amber Rose was indirectly comparing herself with Kim. The person who likes what you dont like is not a fool. Grow up muma gee. Congrats all the same.
ReplyDeleteGiving birth abroad is not a big deal Muma Gee once you can afford it... Congrats to you
