Oscar Pistorius took the witness stand today April 7th to tell is own version of what happened on the day he shot his girlfriend four times through a bathroom window, killing her. A sobbing Oscar then apologized to Reeva's parents, saying he was trying to protect and not to take her life...
"I want to take this opportunity to apologise to Mr and Mrs Steenkamp. There hasn't been a moment since this tragedy happened that I haven't thought about your family
"I wake up every morning and you're the first people I think of. The first people I pray for. I can’t imagine the pain and the sorrow and the emptiness that I’ve caused you and your family.
"I was simply trying to protect Reeva. I can promise you that when she went to bed that night she felt loved. I have tried to put my words on paper many times to write to you but no words would ever suffice.' Continue..
He also told the court his struggles since the incident, saying he wakes up every morning 'smelling blood..a
nd terrified". He claimed he suffers from panic attacks and takes anti-depressant medicine.
'I'm scared to sleep. I can smell blood and wake up terrified. I climbed into a cupboard and I phoned my sister to come and sit by me, which she did for a while. I'm just in a complete state of terror. I fall asleep and wake up like that.' He said

ReplyDeleteHere's the thing; in my own opinion, he's both innocent and guilty. He killed her, no doubt about it, he's claiming it was an accident... thing is, I've followed this case a little too closely and I believe in putting facts together in a logical manner, and from what I've heard, seen, read so far; his story has a LOT of gaps in it. Revised edition 'they both went to bed, the alarm was set, she got up in the middle of the night to pee, he thought he heard an intruder, he grabbed his gun 'which was by his headboard' and shot blindly through the bathroom door FOUR TIMES' cos he was terrified - his version. I have a problem with this story, why? The house on their left was apparently empty or something, but his neighbor across the way heard faint screaming, later on we are told it wasn't just one person who heard a high pitched female voice yelling. Second, someone can't break into your house and your alarm won't go off, and if ur alarm goes off, won't you be very certain that there is an intruder? As opposed to shooting at your bathroom door, you will get up and prepare yourself, maybe creep around first to locate where the entry point is, maybe place a hurried whispered call to the police that's if the alarm company won't even send them out to your house becos of the breech. My theory is this- first of all al lot of people have confirmed that Oscar loves guns, probably has a fetish for 'em who knows? And he also has a hair trigger temper (pun intended) so here's my version. They locked up for the night, then got in a fight... that fight became heated and she got scared for her life and ran screaming to lock herself in the bathroom, of course to someone like Oscar that's defiance! he must have been seeing red, literally, probably yelling 'open this door!' and when she didn't he fired at the door in rage. Of course he was most likely horrified when the anger cleared and so he came up with this intruder story. Bottom line, I just hope they get to the truth.

I just had to post a comment. I felt so touched. If truly it wasn't intentional he will be consumed with guilt forever. I'm truly sorry for him. I can imagine if it were my brother or a friend. I feel more sorry for the girl's family. To lose a daughter to the person you thought should protect her but killing her instead. Only God and love can console them.
