The schoolgirl got pregnant when she was only 11 years old and still in primary school by a boy who was only 12. The children said they 'were in love' and had been dating for a year when they found out she was pregnant. They met over Christmas 2012 in a park when she was 10 and he was 11 going on 12. The children welcomed a healthy daughter on Sunday April 13th 2014.
At 12 years and three months, she is five months younger than the previous youngest UK mother, Tressa Middleton, who gave birth at age 13.
Her mum who is only 27 is now Britain's youngest grandmother. The new mum has a 3 year old sister and 9 year old brother and her grandmother who is 56 is now a great grandmother. Continue...
The girl's father who is currently in jail, and has a 3 and 9 year called into a radio station yesterday to talk about the situation and said he only found out he will be a grandfather just a month ago
‘I would rather have come home and had this than find out she was on drugs at 11 or 12. There's plenty of routes kids this age can go down. She's brought something beautiful into the world... That little girl does not bring shame to me at all, I’m so proud of her. Shame doesn’t even come into it. We didn’t know this was happening. Unfortunately kids this age are going to grow up to have boyfriends and partners or whatever. If they do things behind their parents’ back that’s something we’re never going to be able to find out.’
"We only found out she was pregnant a month ago. That means she was eight months pregnant. The baby is going to come into the world no matter what. You can just be supportive about it. The families on both sides are going to be very supportive about it. It is heartbreaking, but you can't turn back time. You can only go forwards.
‘We don't know where it happened. What you're implying is that we knew they were having sexual intercourse in bedrooms. No.'
'We cannot keep her wrapped up her whole life. I cannot keep her wrapped up all her life. You know, she goes to school, they spend time together. You can’t stop this.
'I cannot go out and watch my little girl 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It’s not possible. It won’t be happening again, what’s happened has happened because you give your children a bit of slack. So now we will be keeping an eye on people. Maybe we could of [sic] done more.
Council estate feral underclass. A consequence of the breakdown of the family.

ReplyDeleteBabies having babies! I read in the papers yesterday that kids with fathers younger than 20 years have a higher probability of getting cancer (35%)...it may not be true but it's worth noting.
ReplyDeleteHer mum had a baby at a young age, her dad is in jail...what do you expect? The trend continues, talk about irresponsible parenting!!!

DeleteU guys re silly Comenting bull crap here. Don't 9 Years old girls get married and give birth here in nigeria? Didn't a 13 year old murder her husband here in nigeria? Its better dis way dan a bloody old pervert.
DeleteHmmmm... This is not cool sha. I wish dem well.
ReplyDeleteShit happens. It's not uncommon to see kids under 16 who are parents in Britain. I have seen 2 Grandmothers who are under 30 and a 50 year old Great-Grand mother! These kids might be happy now but they have no idea what they've got themselves into. In two years, both of them will not even like each other and it will be the extended family raising the kid
ReplyDeleteCynic*Igbo*Guy
Hmmmm... This is not cool sha. I wish dem well.
ReplyDeleteSpeechless!!!
ReplyDeleteIt breaks my heart when I think about the future that awaits our kids. Bt Serzly speaking there's higher rate of immorality overseas. The kids just gets to do whatever pleases them . There's even a limit scolding a child let alone spanking him.The end is truly @ nigh.
ReplyDeleteNa wa oooo, have you come to nigeria their are younger ones here ooooo, the ones the likes of senator yerima impregnated!!

Coool,
ReplyDeleteSeriously, this will really go along way in changing the way people view their kids and hw certain kids will start considering having a family instead of concentrating on their toys and other related stuff.... Am sure, the siblings of this mother(lmao) will like to take same step.....

ReplyDeleteIts pretty obvious dis runs in d family, her mother had her when she was only 15,so how can she condemn her, well wots done is done, dey shud sha take care of dat baby and not let d baby suffer from dia own childishness, wonder how good a parent dey'd be wen d baby is about 5 and d mother 17 and father 18,wud dey take d baby to prom?
ReplyDeletethis is what i call UWA MME BI
ReplyDelete*squeezes face*
ReplyDeleteObviously a family curse:
Father's in jail for a crime. Her mother is 27, meaning she had her at 15. And now, it's the girl's turn to carry on the generational curse.
Smh at what happens in this world. God have mercy!
*My R1.50c comment
Awon oniranu.. This is the height of irresponsibility on the part of both their parents. WTF. Children having children.
ReplyDeleteKids having kids. You couldn't have said it better. Can't understand how a 12 and 13 year old can have kids, it just defies logic! How do they even know anything about sex? At that age sex shouldn't even be an issue! Damn!!!
ReplyDeletewow. yound age. congrat to them
ReplyDeleteLinda u said son and den dauta again!!confused
ReplyDeleteLobatan...pekele pekele arugbo jegbese. Shooo! What has the world turn into? EndTimeThings. #gbam#
ReplyDeleteThey should both be given the beating of a life time. Useless children bring shame to their families. Plus their parents are grossly irresponsible people.
ReplyDeletegood for them
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, please check your writing. First you said the newborn is a boy and again you called the same child daughter. it is a bit confusing. Let us know if is a boy or girl.
ReplyDeleteTeenagers having kids is becoming a trend in ur family sir!

ReplyDeletechildren are gift frm God,its not a mistake at all, congt young parent
ReplyDeletewow God is really great
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things wrong with this story. Her father is to blame,he sounds totally irresponsible. What on earth is he doing in jail when he should be with his family raising his kids. Now he says he will keep an eye on them? That's medicine after death. Meanwhile, how is he able to call a radio station from jail?
ReplyDeleteShit happens! Real child abuse.
ReplyDeleteRead well they're both young is not child abuse
DeleteAt 27 wey some girls still dey do pinging and Watsapp she don be grandma...isorait!
ReplyDeleteDats d trend now, nigerians too nko,av seen. ReplyDeleteLinda please can you make provision for us to like coment? cos some are well spoken
ReplyDeleteWhat's the problem? Childhood is a recent development. Two 'children' had sex, no child abuse here. Some of you grown folks are terrible parents. Congratulations to them both. It's going to be tough but I'm sure they'll grow to become wonderful parents and 'adults'.
ReplyDeleteThe new baby herself might have her own child in the next 12 years too thereby making her mother, who is 12 now the youngest grandmother at 24 just in 12 years time. E no far, very soon we will all hear the news.
ReplyDeleteWell, the problem is not making babies but raising them. #Endtime
ReplyDeleteIs this civilisation or what ?
ReplyDeletednt blame dem.dere ix nting luv cnt do
ReplyDeleteQuite sad but Linda, em this ya explanation and head line no gree me know if na boy or gal be d pikin wey u dry talk about.
ReplyDeleteBoth grandparents were still getting new baby's parents child benefit and child tax credits..My tax kai..
ReplyDelete.
Where is the child abuse law? They compel on us what they don't enforce in their land. So unethical set of people....
ReplyDeleteThis cannot happen in an Igbo mans house.the child and her mother would be out before she knows she is pregnant, Yorubas would take care of the baby even though they would rant and want to kill the child and Hausas already marry at age 9 so no difference but at least they are married! This is absolute rubbish!!
ReplyDeleteOwuya in Ada mbano's voice#umuojoo#
ReplyDeleteeven the girls mother is useless! she gave birth to the girl at the age of 15!!! abeg wetin be dat?? it seems like this will continue in their lineage o!
