Boko Haram threatens to kill abducted girls if search is not stopped

Boko Haram men have threatened to kill the school girls they abducted in the early hours of April 15th if the search for them continues. This is after some Borno women under the auspices of BAOBAB Women’s Right said they are planning to storm the Sambisa forest where the abducted girls are believed to be held.

The women said since efforts by the military to rescue the girls haven't worked so far, it was time for them to take matters into their hands as concerned mothers.

The Spokesperson for the group, Professor Hauwa Biu, told newsmen
"We are ready to go into the forest and search for the girls. In fact, we are prepared to risk our lives and get up to Boko Haram camp and appeal to them to release the children to us so that they can re unite with their parents. There is nothing extraordinary in our quest to enter the dangerous forest. We learnt that some men in Chibok had earlier embarked on such mission, which later turned out to be fruitless. We felt that as mothers, we are in a better position to have the sympathy and concern over the fate of the missing girls. Our target is not to fight the abductors, but we want to beg them to release the girls in the name of the God that we all worship.”

  4. Is it that the military personnel don't know the way to this forest? Why must civilians have to take matters into their own hands? This threat made by BH proves that they are indeed in the forest with the abducted girls. Have our military men completely lost it?

  35. even the military should be careful talkless of mothers. The plan of their abductors is to indoctrinate the girls fastly and send/disperse them for high profile terror acts. The girls can harm anybody if Boko Haram succeeds in hypnotising and indoctrinating them,so we the military should act fast and also take all precautions

  46. About time individual groups start doing sth. When the people get tired of this rubbish they will fight the heads sponsoring BH and if those leaders want to fight the people it will become an international thing. Please, people fight for yourselves and don't wait for "the leaders"

    ReplyDelete
  47. So people should sit back and twiddle their thumbs while these beast use these young girls in any which way they want. They make sure they got as young as they could to ensure they are virgins. The government needs to do like Mali did to run them out, seek the assistance of military from outside to eliminate them. They sitting down watching innocent people being killed daily, children being abducted and acting like it is not time to call in the big guns. Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Goodluck, humble yourself and seek help for the safety of your people.

Goodluck, you cannot let pride prevent you from protecting the innocent people in your land. It is obvious that the Nigerian military is not equipped to deal with the level of threat Boko Haram poses. Seek the assistance of the US or UK who have satellites to see their movements and the artillery to wipe them out.

  55. I can't see the reason y d Nigerian govt has refused to seek for help since this BH has over powered them! Please these women shouldn't try going there because those men has sold their soul to the devil n they don't look at peoples tears! Am in tears! God protect those girls!

    ReplyDelete
  56. How can you as harmless civilians without arms, appeal to the "emotions" or "reasonings" of a sensless group??? I don't get! You'd be added to the number of girls there! 99percent possibility! Pls, appeal to the govt instead or go summon men with arms!
