OJB sets up Kidney Foundation

Prolific music producer Babatunde Okungbowa aka OJB has set up a kidney related foundation that would focus on helping kidney patients in the country. OJB who is still recuperating from a Kidney transplant he had last year in India spoke with Encomium magazine about the Foundation
"It  would be called OJB Foundation. We are trying to set up one or more dialysis centers which patients will use at highly affordable cost. To this end we are discussing with partners who would make this happen. We are about to start the programme. We don't just want to be begging for funds. We have to look for a sustainable format. So we want to start a Save 20 campaign. From there, we move on with the support of the private sector, Government and Non Governmental Organizations, NGO" OJB said.
OJB also said he is currently working on his new album which is expected to drop in June.

    2. Linda, there's a guy in the Kanu heart foundation office that claims he's in charge of OJB foundation. They say they help kidney failure patients solicit funds for transplant. They are collecting 15k registration fee from people. I know this cos my mum has renal failure and has been there to register. This one that OJB is saying is difft from what we have been told o. Abeg help me ask OJB if he knows anything about this. Make e no be say we don enter one chance.

  23. You can't give what you don't have...OJB is just recovering and trying to revive his music career, setting up a foundation you can't fund at least 50% by yourself is not just the right time for that.

  31. Well, Left to me, this is too early. i think he needs to chill and be fully recovered for a while, plan well before jumping into something like this. an NGO isn't something one should rush...Look at most NGOs, the founders actually have something to start with then when people see the success, they start donating to make it bigger success. so now tell me how someone who hasn't still recovered fully and might still be managing what ever funds he has left from the "Save OJB" campaign would have enough to provide affordable treatment for others...He really needs to chill. #MyOpinion
