Forbes names Dangote 23rd richest in the world, Bill Gates No.1

According to a Forbes magazine list released yesterday Monday March 3rd, Nigerian industrialist, Aliko Dangote is the 23rd richest man in the world. Wow! He made history as the first black man to break into the rank of top 25 richest people in the world.

In 2012, he was the 76th richest man in the world. He moved from that to 43rd richest man in 2013 and now to 23rd in 2014 with his wealth jumping from $16.1billion to $25billion.

The next Nigerian on the list is Glo chief Mike Adenuga, who is 325th richest person with $4.6bn. Then Mrs Folorunsho Alakija in 687th position with a personal wealth of $2.5bn.

Former Microsoft chairman Bill Gates takes back the No.1 position as the richest man in the world with $76billion. Geez! If you lived ten life times, you probably won't be able to finish $76b.

    1. Dangote worth 25mil and he can't help eradicate extreme poverty from his state. Or subsidize these new expensive vaccines. If not for Bill, all these vaccines we give our kids won't even be affordable, tuk of being free. And d man is not even frm our continent. If Bill can can do it for Africa, Asia, U.S and co Dangote can do it for Nigeria. Its a shame dat a man dat wealthy is a Nigerian. And we av notin to sure for it.

  20. Saw Aliko at a wedding on saturday and you won't know he sits on that calibre of immense wealth. But you know what I noticed about the really Wealthy ones they never pay about acquiring cars and rolex watches on Twitter and instagram. They talk about eradicating diseases and impacting the world positively. We should all aspire to do same. Someone told me that warren buffet drives the lowest grade volks wagon car in the line they supply it to him. I guess they have nothing to prove. Just saying

I own a production business which turns in about 5m per day and other side deals. Recently, I confirmed that If I spend 1m eachday without working, I can survice for 9 yrs. In 15yrs I will be 50. What has he contributed to Nigeria, people like Bill & Oprah are great philanthropist with diff scholarship schemes & less priveledge homes both for old & young all over d world, his own is only making money & piling it for himself in order to get into Forbes richest....mtchewwww! Being rich is about sharing, he does not have two heads neither is he God's favorite, God only bless us so we can bless others that is d biggest work of charity, I've got no respect for him.

  60. Congrats dangote ooo ,its been a long time coming .his profile is even gonna rise the more now that hez going into oil .one of the pride of Nigeria

    ReplyDelete
  61. I just love this man,Dangote & I pray for more prosperity for him in Jesus Mighty Name. Meanwhile the majority of my compatriots are still walking around like zombies looking for jobs instead of starting their own firms, companies etc. For instance, take a look at Linda(Ikeji) she's her own boss probably working from her own bed. Unemployment rate is high in Nigeria cos every damn person wants to "work".

    ReplyDelete
  62. Dangote has every right to be successful, infact he would be classified an agbaya if he is not successful. How can Dangote not be successful? On this Forbes list of world richest, Dangote is the only one that the government of his country (Nigeria) shut down every other competitor; making him dictator of cement and sugar price! The No. 1 man Billy has got big competitors in the US and is buying up small businesses rather than running competitors down like our dearest Aliko (government pikin).

    ReplyDelete
  66. So you all really belive that Mike Adenuga is worth only $4.6B, then I have a bridge that I want to sell you.

Mike Adenuga is worth at least $30Billion. He is Babangida's main front for businesses and you think that's all he has been entrusted with? Glo alone is worth about $2B and then he has 6 Oil blocs plus over a trillion cubic feet of Gas untapped.

Do the math, Alakija has one oil bloc and she is worth $2.5B and Mike has 6.

    ReplyDelete
  79. well I not blame Dangote, he's doing what a smart business man would do! But we should ask ourselves some question
    1. If there is regime change would he countinue to rise this fast?... Lets say a Buhari comes to power!

    2. Would he still be the riches ''black man'' if he's not a ''king maker'' in Nigeria?

    3. When did he start to make it big in Nigeria? I bet he started in early 2002 or so!

In Conclusion the ''Power's that be'' made him who he is today. From the Obansanjo Government to the Yaradua - Goodluck Government Dangote has really benefited from the ''System'' I bet ''he's wealth'' is not really he's but the of the ''Power's that be'' like someone pointed out earlier a ''Front Man''!

What really gets me upset is that when you sample opinions on Fb,Lib and other forums you will notice the bias and stupidity of people! pardon my french, we have all been divided along Religious,Tribal and even Zonal lines to our own detriment by this ''Power's that be''... Only GOD can Judge them now! ''Why will they allow Brothers and Sisters to be Fighting and Killing one another'' tuface said that.

If you take you time to read what I have just written without bias you all will know I have said noting but the truth! I just pray people will read this and know that the average Hausa,Igbo or Yoruba man is not our problem in Nigerian but the wicked and Godless Elites(power's that be) from the East-West and North-South who prey on us using the ''Divide and Rule'' tactics... Only GOD can Judge them now cause their own don 2much!I dey vex! God will give them enough personal problems to contend with! In short the Angels that Torment shall be released against them in Jesus name!
