Photos: Soldiers take over streets in Victoria Island in route march

The soldiers were spotted this morning on several streets in Victoria Island. No one knows for sure what the march pass was for but shouldn't they be in the North instead? #Justasking! :-) Continue to see more photos...

    1. Linda dear! You know, I was crying last night and slept off, didn't know when I slept off, I woke up this morning feeling so tired and pained just thinking about all this killings in the north, and couldn't get out of bed, and when i was thinking about all this killings by boko haram in the north, especially those innocent children that were brutally slain in Yobe, because I love children a lot, I thought to myself, those innocent people that died could have been my friends, my relation, family members, loved ones, siblings, neighbours and worst still, it could have been me! And I must say I thank God, but I wished I was never born into this wicked world

But I kept asking myself when will this ever stop? when will all this killings stop? When will this hate ever stop? My dad once told me that the absence of danger does not guarantee safety (yanga dey sleep trouble go wake am) and its true, only God and not man can give us true security, so we must all run to God to keep us safe from harm, even when you are peaceful, or you try to advocates for peace, people still hate you for no reason, as if they know you, as if you've offended them before or as if you owe them your life, they abuse you, insult you, they bully you with their tongue and many a time this people seem to be shallow minded people

Boko haram are killing our brothers and sisters in the north, may the wrath of God visit them... Amen!
But some of us are no better than them, my catechism taught me that you don't only kill with weapons, you also kill with mouth, that's why some people commits suicide because of the abuse and insult from their fellow humans, that's why some persons will delete their twitter account cos of cyber bullying, that's why some people commits suicide because of cyber bullying, what ever happens to any human being because of the bullying from your mouth, then you are a party to it, you are a party to his depression and possible suicidal death you are the boko haram that killed him indirectly

Please Linda let all media, blogs, news agencies begin to talk about this boko haram issues, blogs just report the incident and number of casualties and become mute about it, till another attack happens before we here another report about it, let them talk about the insecurity of the nation, let's hype it, lets give this government sleepless night till they find a permanent solution to insecurity in this country, let things like "the government should take an offensive action against boko haram, GEJ the blood of slain innocent children are in your hands, the government has failed us, the average citizens wants answers to insecurity, the masses wants the government to carry out their primary obligation of protecting its citizens etc" become trendy, let's move the government to action, just like this blog and other media moved the government to action in the case of "Aluu 4, Ejigbo women torture etc"

Linda we have to start protesting especially the media
      God heal Nigeria

    3. Alloy, if you want a change, you have to be part of it. Join the military. No pun intended here, kids at the age of 18 are already joining the military to go fight the Islamic terrorist. Changes starts when you do something, I love the narrative in your previous post but you need to do your quota. Start there first then we know how serious you are. .. anyone can complain, but change starts with one person who says ive had enough.

    3. Thats what the military guys are trained to do. The fight for what they believe in, which is a better Nigeria. They should go face their fears, only problem is, Borno state governor said boko haram has more ammunition than the soldiers, so that could be a suicidal mission if they go. At least if I go to war, I wouldn't want to bring a knife to a gun fight, that'll be to my disadvantage. So, I hope that is what they are protesting for, more ammo to give them a fair fight against boko haram.

    1. U really are unknown. You know how many soldiers Nigeria has? They have some deployed to foreign neighboring countries like cameroon, im sure the picture you just saw does not reflect the total number of Soldiers in the Nigerian military, your rationale is stupid. Im sure people aren't asking that all soldiers should be deployed to the North, just a good number to keep the boko haram under control. You should go learn some more about your country Nigeria, don't show your stupidity next time.

If they are not adequately trained, they should seek foreign assistance/training. 68. linda, on this boko haram issue, a lot has been said and a lot remains unsaid. suffice it to say that the military is not to be blamed. all over the world, nigerian military and even police get accolades for peacekeeping, yet at home they cant function properly. have we asked ourselves why? it must mean that there is something in this country that doesn't permit them to function well. because out there, their allowances are paid and they are well equiped, this gives them motivation.first, their enemy is not defined. yes boko haram is the enemy, but we all know that they have sponsors. how can religious zealots who are illiterates be able to afford armoured cars and RPG. secondly, linda, the allowances set out for these military men in hot zones are being shared in bits. yes. their allowances for risking their lives in those hot zones are supposed to be about a hundred thousand and yet they are sometimes paid twenty or twenty something thousand. they are sometimes fed twice a day. or even only once. go and quote me Linda. just because of corruption. some govt ppl meddling with military affairs and willing the money back to their pockets. linda, there was once a military pilot who was supposed to fly but the fuel in his jet was not enough. he was ordered to 'manage' it, he was supposed to pick up a govt official. somewhere in the air, the fuel finished. we all know how that ended. he plummeted to his death. so many men and women who put on this uniform and die for nothing. on the issue of ammunition, Linda, most of these ppl serving in the hot zones are given just about 36 bullets each . yes. this is true. so tell me how you can fight an enemy who is with 4 Hilux vans, armoured cars, GPMGS and RPG WITH 36 BULLETS? when ur 36 bullets finish, won't you run away? you will agree with me that it is foolishness to stabd after ur bullets are finished or are you going to fight with empty hands. im speaking from a position of knowledge. these are facts. so when we talk rubbish and abuse the nigerian military, pls let us make our findings first. these men are women are risking their lives and dying on a daily basis. they get nothing in return. because all they are supposed to get is subsumed by corruption. we must task our govt to be responsible. boko haram is not the case of the military, the govt must be transparent and ready to equip the military to fight insurgency. we cannot be secure in this country until the government stops meddling with military affairs. this is not child's play. go and verify everything av written here. so for all of us who go to bed at night and pray for ourselves and our families, let us remember these men and women and their families. they are human beings too, they have families, wives, husbands and children who love them too. they are sent to the war front ill-equipped. just to go and die!

  74. Dear Linda, it is partinent for ur readers to also know that all the soldiers can not all be in the north. The war in northeast nigeria is a Gorrila war fear. What this means Is that the soldiers don't know the enemies but the enemies knows the soldiers. They Operate with intelligence. This is to avoid civilian casualties. We should Note that it does not take the army 24hrs to bring down the entire Northeast but don't 4get their are innocent people who don't deserve to die. If you have ever been 2 maiduguri you will understand my point. I did my nysc their. I can tell u is not an easy war. They army are not magicians they have blood in their veins as such the need our prayers. Its painful but we must criticize objectively

  75. Hey friends.
Let's get ready for the military take over, i've predicted this for long and no one believed me but i think this will be an eye opener to us.....
When the power at the central can no longer take control of the affairs of the state, their comes a military coup, then take over( political analyst will agree with me).... I know many people might still as well dis-agree with me on this, but i'll rest my case for now till we see more shocking military game show.... But before then, kindly make a visibility study of how many states the military are directly or indirectly controlling their affairs all in the name of terrorism. LET'S BE VIGILANT

  80. Why should they be in the north? are they not humans too. must they continue to sacrifice their life for nothing, Police men too should join to sacrifice their life. i cant count how many soldiers i know personally that have be slain by bokoharams or kiled. they are doing their best. if u ve any love one in nigeria army u wont pray death for him. They are trying, if u say they are not u can go to challenge d boko pple urself. soldiers have a family, and a right to life too. dem don die reach make una sef go sacrifice una life.

  81. Am not in support of the ongoing bombing attack, but the northerners are not ready to solve their problem, they need to join forces with the government by providing important information to the military, not Islamic millary ooo abeg, cos they fit follow THE GIVE BOKO INFO,instead of fighting Goodluck, any time they are ready we will know, the only thing that is paining me is my eastern brothers that refused to come home, abeg make una free the soilders, they are doing their normal routine

  93. The way people comment I just wonder.. very daft indeed.. so soldiers cannot do their normal route march again. Must they all go to the north..?

    ReplyDelete
  94. May god forgive those who are lambasting these soldiers who have not been deployed for reasons not their fault.

Soldiers are losing their lives in droves and nobody is even condoling with their families.

I pray there would be compulsory conscription, that's when many would appreciate these awuas.

  95. Ms Linda, nice question but I think you should know better than asking such a question. Don't you think your soldiers are over stretched? Is it a better option for the entire Nigerian Army relocate to the Northrn states? Are those military personnel not Nigerians having blood in their veins? Does the Army act on its own or on orders from the Political masters? Linda you should promote so e form of enlightenment showing encouragement to your soldiers who are not well motivated and not asking leading questions like you have just done. It's only in Nigeria that people despise the Army instead of showing them respect. Well, learning how to read and write and having a university degree does not make one enlightened.

  96. Don't blame the soldiers, blame the government

  97. The way we think in Naija can be quite appalling. We think like we were/are programmed sometimes. So,all the soldiers in Nigeria should be deployed to the north of the country?

    ReplyDelete
  98. Maybe you should say a prayer for the soldiers in the North first. Nigerians are so quick with their mouths! where has it gotten us today??

Why are people so insensitive and inhuman The bible is always true the heart of men is desperately wicked even if 100000000000000000 or more soldiers are deployed we still ain't sef they are also human and can die all we need do as Nigerians is to join hands and heads in prayers for our country our soldiers and their families it's not easy living your today for someone's tomorrow.you think anyone wants to die?LINDA next time make sensible captions under your post maybe if you had a brother in the force you would be sensible and same goes to y'all commenting nonsense about the military wish others what you wish yourself but if you want to die go and die quietly and stop ranting and picking on people who comment.make your lives useful
