Check out how they care for their ATMs in Ibadan...hehe

If I talk now Ibadan people go say I don start again...lol. But I go still talk sha! Y'all know I have nothing but love for y'all! Hehe. So somewhere in the beautiful ancient city ATMs are guarded with iron protectors. Heard that if you want to withdraw money, the security guards stationed there will unlock and allow you use it, and when you are done, they lock again. #Makessensethingz! Haha!

Mind u, it is right opposite major road at challenge, and d brach is a major one for 1st bank in d city, so u wouldnt want to type ur pin or # while someone watching u. Lastly, that thing was put together by 1st bank and NOT yoruba or anyones father. So y'all should know bera.

    2. I wonder where linda get her stories sometimes sha,if you have been to the place you will know there is no hook on the metal let alone lock,so ibadan people are not criminally minded or primitive as you are trying to portray them.

    ReplyDelete
  22. This is not true. There are no locks on these atms. I have used them several times. The security personnel only help those who can't operate the machines. Though I am not from Ibadan, I go there once in a while and I have used the atms shown in this article.

  33. Hmmmmmm, big fat lie. The ATMs are stationed at first bank, Gbagi market, Ibadan. The iron shields are there to give the users total privacy which is really needed because the ATMs are situated opposite a very busy road. There was always a very long and squeezed up queue behind each user, which made it easy for other users on the queue to view details displayed on the ATM screen as well as what the user was typing before the introduction of the shields as customers queued within the lilttle space available between the bank premises and the busy road.
Security never intervene except assistance was requested by user (mostly semi literate) since it's in the middle of a market .
P.S: I am not a staff of the bank, I am just a regular customer of that particular branch because I have a shop in the market.

  60. Linda, I think u have something against Ibadan and its ppl. First there is lawlessness in the world and Ibadan is not an exception. Even here in the U.S.A. There have been reports of robberies involving ATMs. Some ppl uprooted the ATM and took the ATM away. You are not exposed that is why these things are news to u. The owners of ATMs have to protect their investment anyway they can.

  71. Noooo! Linda this is a false alarm. It's only at First Bank ATMs at Ibadan that you see this iron protectors, like @ UI, Agodi, Challenge, Mokola R/About, etc. I don't know their intention, but in most cases they are not manned by any security man. Perhaps it's just for queue/crowd control.

  86. is it ibadan ppl 2 blame or d bank?nt there fault that d bank did dat. u shld also put the name of the bank also.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I do not comment on blogs, but on seeing this post i knew i had to clarify the situation. They do not lock those things in front of the atms, in fact they were done to protect the users from heavy dust in that particular area when the bridge was being built. I am not a native of Ibadan, i reside there....i have seen so many things being written on here as total hogwash.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Its a lie they dont lock it !!!!! You open it yourself and use it !!

The security in the picture is just there by chance, not like he is locking the user in. If that was the case, then FBN would have recruited more security staff for this purpose. Whoever brought this up is a clown. I love my Ibadan jawe....
