Boko Haram kills 106 people in fresh attack in Borno state

According to reports, Boko Haram members launched a fresh attack on indigenes of Izghe, a Christian community in Gwoza LGA of  Borno State, killing 106 people on Saturday February 15th

According to eye witnesses, the men who came dressed in military attire, chanted Allah is great as they slit the throats of the people they came across and also fired gun shots at them. Some of the victims were made to come out of their homes and were then killed in an execution like manner.

Confirming the attack, Senator Ali Ndume who represents that senatorial district in the National Assembly says 106 people were killed including an old woman.
"106 people, including an old woman, have been killed by the attackers, suspected to be Boko Haram gunmen. Sixty of the dead have been buried while the rest are awaiting burial,” he said.
Reports say the militants came with rocket propelled Grenade, AA-12 and other sophisticated weapons which scatters the body of its target. This is the main reason why the military personnel stationed in that area couldn't contain the situation leading to the death of the large number of people because they were armed with AK 47 rifles which were not as powerful as the ones the Boko Haram men came with. But this has been dismissed by the Director Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Olajide Laleye who said the army was well equipped for the battle and that they never retreated during the faceoff withe sect members.

  94. The Biafran struggle is, on another plane, a resistance to the Arab-Muslim expansionism which has menaced and ravaged the African continent for centuries. As early as the first quarter of the seventh century, the Arabs, a people from the Near-East, evolved Islam not just as a religion but as a cover for their insatiable territorial ambitions. By the tenth century they had overrun and occupied, among other places, Egypt and North Africa. Had they stopped there, we would not today be faced with the wicked and unholy collusion we are fighting against. On the contrary, they cast their hungry and envious eyes across the Sahara on to the land of the Negroes.

Our Biafran ancestors remained immune from the Islamic contagion. From the middle years of the last century Christianity was established in our land. In this way we came to be a predominantly Christian people. We came to stand out as a non-Muslim island in a raging Islamic sea. Throughout the period of the ill-fated Nigerian experiment, the Muslims hoped to infiltrate Biafra by peaceful means and quiet propaganda, but failed. Then the late Ahmadu Bello, the Sarduana of Sokoto tried, by political and economic blackmail and terrorism ''Boko Haram'', to convert Biafrans settled in Northern Nigeria to Islam. His hope was that these Biafrans on dispersion would then carry Islam to Biafra, and by so doing give the religion political control of the area. The crises which agitated the so-called independent Nigeria from 1962 gave these aggressive proselytisers the chance to try converting us by force.

It is now evident why the fanatic Arab-Muslim states like Algeria, Egypt and the Sudan have come out openly and massively to support and aid Nigeria in her present war of genocide against us. These states see militant Arabism as a powerful instrument for attaining power in the world.

Biafra is one of the few African states untainted by Islam. Therefore, to militant Arabism, Biafra is a stumbling block to their plan for controlling the whole continent. This control is fast becoming manifest in the Organisation of African Unity. On the question of the Middle East, the Sudanese crisis, in the war between Nigeria and Biafra, militant Arabism has succeeded in imposing its point of view through blackmail and bluster. It has threatened African leaders and governments with inciting their Muslim minorities to rebellion if the governments adopted an independent line on these questions. In this way an O.A.U that has not felt itself able to discuss the genocide in the Sudan and Biafra, an O.A.U. that has again and again advertised its ineptitude as a peace-maker, has rushed into open condemnation of Israel over the Middle East dispute. Indeed in recent times, by its performance, the O.A.U. might well be an Organisation of Arab Unity.

  95. The military didn't retreat yet 106 people are dead? There should be massive deployment to that state, flood every inch of that state and fish them out. May the souls of the dead rest in peace

  101. Is this the first Boko attack in Nigeria? Wouldn't our lawmakers and government serve us well by making the stamping out of boko haram one of their priorities? Why give priority and time to the anti-gay law, a law that is inhuman, barbaric, disgraceful and futile because gays are being born all the time and will be when the last trumpet goes? R.I.P. to the deceased.

  108. This thing started as a political tool, but these guys have obviously surpassed their masters and are now operating as what they truly are; a terrorist group. A group that could have being curbed at its onset but for a few people who sponsored them and a few others who thought because it wasn't their problem, there wasn't any need to interfere! Now we heavily laden with a menace that is trying to wipe out an entire populace. Clap for yourself!!! I mean clap for yourself!!!

  118. linda, i believe you are educated. I respect you as a business woman and hopefully you can earn respect of a blogger. They are some very sensitive issues you need to address before writing. You mentioned christians today, but the last time you didn't mention they were muslims killed. 82.5% of the people killed by the so called "boko haram" are muslims. As a blogger you are meant to be in the force to join unity, as the separation would only result in blood shed of poor innocent people. Not me, you and the people even educated enough to write on this blog. Even though you may not post this comment. This is for you.
I am young and i have the most superior of qualifications. It is a piece of advice to you.
