Obasanjo sends letter to PDP withdrawing from party activities

All these drama with our politicians, leaders and political parties is becoming quite silly. They all just seem so confused. One of the founding members of the ruling party and former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo has sent a letter to the National Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, where he gave a notice of his withdrawal from activities of the party.

In the letter, Obasanjo said although he is still a card carrying member of the party, he will withdraw his activities with PDP at local, state, zonal and national level until a person he describes as a criminal wanted abroad to face criminal charges is removed as the party's South West zonal leader.

Obasanjo proceeded to add that he was forwarding with the letter, “recent documents” on the alleged activities of the person. The letter, dated January 7th, was obtained by Tribune. See it after the cut...

    3. What baffles me most after going thru the comments is this;we always seem to attack the messenger and never the message.

Obj is an old man and he's done is worst/best.hes in the past.

President Jonathan is here now.he can't continue to harbour, promote, seen to be supporting criminals or accused/indicted people.its an open post, buruji IS wanted in the UK and the US.pending when he is cleared, the commander in chief should not move near him with a pole.
The same goes for oduah, diezani and so on.the president called for the resignation of sanusi.what happened to the issues raises by sanusi.we should be grateful that the alarm at least brought out some of the unremitted funds.why didn't nnpc remit?where is the outstanding?these are questions that should have been raised and not who cried foul.

Dr Jonathan, once again, you might be a good man but you have continued to surround yourself with wicked minded people.

I pity this country of ours its shamelessness* Linda swallow my comment as always.

  51. Why shouldn't Obasanjo fo jo gban (cause trouble) when the biggest and one of the richest drug dealers in the history of Nigeria (an open secret) and a grossly irresponsible, unreliable and wicked man has been allowed to not only enter politics but become a party leader in Yoruba land (that has a lot of weight please).... Just because he has ordinary money... Money that if he dies today, he wouldn't carry with him... Money that cannot give life... Money that doesn't have progressive ideas... Money that cannot do anything.. Money the Bible calls a messenger..

Someone that the USA and UK have pictures, evidence and are holding diplomatic talks with our government to arrest (source: Sahara Reporters). Our president, is not only protecting the fellow, but he is allowing him to become a party leader. Just because he wants to be re-elected, he forgets that someone that was elected before him, died in that seat.

That is why radicalism will seep into our country because injustice is allowed to reign, just because their perpetrators have money.

If you like, don't put up my post.

Linder u didn't talk about the new bilateral agreement btw Nig and uk to exchange prisoners. So they can bring Ibori back home and release him after 2yrs on presidential pardon. This country is corrupt, Ibori and Oga s at d top are already mapping out plan for his prison break. sMh

  137. Obj is only fooling himself cos when he was cool with Kashamu he never said anything. Is it now that he knows Kashamu is a criminal? These are questions we shud ask before he take sides. Just bcos they fell out after 2011 elections cos of the huge failure PDP got from South-West and Kashamu decides not to play according to Obj's rule and take over the affairs of the South-West politics makes Obj mad. Let him just retire from politics for good or join another party.

  143. Obasanjo has done well, that's how a true leader should do. The only problem I have is why they keep washing their dirty linen in public, this should be a private matter unless its an open letter for all to read but I think its a private matter. There's trouble in PDP and the first problem is their chairman Bamanga tukur and the rest is Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, if care is not taken PDP will lose more guvnorship seat and presidency seat come 2015. I hope they can put their house in order before this problem turn out to be the end of PDP in this country.
