Lagos Assembly offer N1.25million for info on tortured Ejigbo women

The Lagos State Assembly yesterday announced a N1.25million reward for anyone with useful info on the dastard act perpetuated on two women by some men in Ejigbo in 2013.

During a stakeholders meeting on this issue held at Alausa Secretariat yesterday, Mr Ajibola Adeyeye who is the Chairman Ad hoc committee set up by the Assembly to investigate the incident announced the reward token.
"Anybody that gives information that leads to the arrest of the perpetrators of the heinous act shall be given N1 million. And I will add the sum of 250,000 from my private account to increase the sum to N1.25million" He said.
No leads have been made since the video surfaced on the internet a few months back. Lawmakers have commenced hearing on the case.

    2. Really? Really? Where is your sense of humanity? Just asking. From your comment, I think it left with your conscience. What if that was your mom, wife or sister? Will you be singing the same tune? Please, let's learn to be empathetic towards others in our reasoning, our speech and our conduct.

A country where you give the identity of the criminals, you will be tortured while the criminals are left to go scot-free or even celebrated. Na wa ooo no be me!!!

  26. Aunty LinLin, I think it's "dastardly" and not "dastard" bcos the latter doesn't exist in English and "dastardly" is an adjective

  27. Must there be a compensation for everything SMH..false stories are going to come out now

    1. For example, when a child steals and doesn't get corrected, the child starts to reason that perhaps the act is ok and continues to perpetrate the act of stealing. For such inhumane act going unpunished, the perpetrators are likely to commit the same atrocity thinking iits ok. I did it the first time, didn't get stopped. The story happened very early in 2013, went cold with no criminals apprehended. The best and most effective way to apprehend criminals is to get the support of the citizens including compensation. This way, story doesn't go cold again.

  42. How many people check the internet in Nigeria???If this thing is that serious, put it on television (or even daily newspapers),you will surely get a lead. And eh!who came up with that Ejigbo theory??if it actually happened there, how come people in that area are not interviewed??Or how many vigilante groups are in Ejigbo?

    ReplyDelete
  43. We don hear, but when they are finally caught they should be paraded openly and also made to face the wrath of the law. we don too see may things for this country so to trust our so called "leaders" hard well well. They say one thing and do another.

  51. If lagos really want to arrest the bloody guys, am sure they know what to do in as much they know the location, let SARS arrest few people in that area and they will surely get a lot of info. am sure its the so called areas boys in the said area.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Really? Just randomly arrest people? What if they didnt commit te crime, should they be arrested? If that was you, would you think it fair that you be arrested for a crime you did not commit in hopes of the law officers getting information on who committed the atrocity? You can bring people in in connection with a case, not arrest people. Thats why this case went cold, mentality like this scares people into witholding information for fear of being tagged as the culprit.

  52. I pray they continue with d investigation n not to stop half way.
