DJ Cuppy: One to watch in 2014

2014 promises to be a stellar year for DJ Cuppy as she continues to make waves both in Europe and in West Africa. Upon turning 21 at the end of 2013, DJ Cuppy, has enjoyed transition from an aspiring DJ with over five years’ experience, to headlining at some of the premier clubs in London and Lagos. The student-by-day whom brought us a revival of Tunji Oyelana’s “I Love My Country” and her electrifying “Forever Summer” Mixtape, seems to be irresistible behind turntables. One of many memorable nights last year, DJ Cuppy, headlined at the exclusive Jalouse Club in London where she debuted her ‘Night Out With Cuppy’ series (Find that after the cut) Continue...

Her growing reputation resulted in her being asked to be the main DJ for Mary J Blige’s recent tour of West Africa, which included dates in Nigeria and Ghana. She has also enjoyed playing at renowned venues in Dubai, New York, Cape Town, but to name a few cites. This growing exposure culminated in her being featured in the December’s edition of Tatler Magazine where she was listed as one of Nigeria’s youngest entrepreneurs in London. The quality of work to date along with her determination to forge new pathways in the genre of ‘Neo-Afrobeats’ has resulted in a project pipeline for 2014 that will see DJ Cuppy work with UK, West African and American Artists. DJ Cuppy is definitely one to watch!

  5. Women want to be taken seriously, so they must take them self seriously! If they don't want to be taken as sex items then they should try as much as possible not to use it as a selling point! What has a bed got to do with being a DJ? Aren't these picture suppose to depict what she does for a living, instead of her as a sex symbol or sexy? Hilary Obiorah.

  30. I know the power of makeup. It takes a local girl to a ' shorty is a 10'! Take off that makeup and then rate her so called beauty (plus remember, beauty is more than skin deep). She is an entrepreneur, fine, I respect that - women empowering each other - but do I think she has the 'IT' factor? No. This is all daddy's money.

    1. I think u have a good point, but let's be realistic in our world 2day, just knowing that her dad is stinking rich will make everyone to appreciate her efforts n that will surely guarantee her the fame she craves.
She just has 2 hustle a little harder n she'll be really famous n be making some good money from her skill s

  47. She is quarter cast-i don't know where these dumb Nigerians came up with the fact that anyone with black knuckles is bleaching! She(Ife)is not clever like her dumb parents, her dad is pumping mediocrity because she has nothing upstairs like her parents who don't even have ordinary school certificate-her mum is stupidly dumb from the northern part of Naija.Ife's(DJ cuppy's)stepsister is equally dumb but better than her but eh!NANA the evil stepmother will not let OLA grow due to jealousy.Ola is Femi's eldest daughter from a his villlage Epe mother who Femi slept with in her youth and refused to help due to his new found wealth and popularity ( he used to work in a bakery in Epe.)Dullard!

  48. Firstly the glorification of a spoilt wealthy brat should not be news. Being a DJ is not a job! her father is rich and influential, so most likely she has fake friends and yes men surrounding her. She needs to realize that father's money isn't infinite and that a path not forged from wholesomeness, blood, sweat and tears is not a self forged path but rather a carpeted one.

  49. Wow so many positive comments on here unlike Bella naija where they were hating on the girl. That's pretty cool libers!!!

  55. @anon@1:45am, you are a real big fool. Hater oshi. Come Mz ITK, what is your own? Get a life!!!! They don't have school cert, their daughter is dumb, Ola has not been allowed to grow.....May God purnish you for all the lies on Nana. Nana is a very sweet woman.Even Ola never knew Nana wasn't her mother! Because they are so close and she brought her up! Thats how you people go about destroying peoples homes out of jealousy. Stupid dumb hater. Who is more stupid now? Leave them alone and go back to your miserable life. You would never grow with this attitude of yours. Wicked witch
