Designer Chuks Collins discharged after successful kidney transplant

Mid last year, Lagos-based budding designer Chuks Collins was diagnosed with kidney failure. (Read about it here). He left Nigeria for New York four months ago on September 23rd for his surgery. He was discharged recently after a successful surgery which happened November 4th 2013 but will stay in the US till the first week of March when his treatment will be completed.

The 29 year old designer says thank you to everyone who helped him raise money for this surgery. See pics from his hospital experience after the cut...

  40. From our observation in St.Nicholas Hospital Lagos Island Chronic Kidney disease is fast becoming quite common and if care is not taken, incidence may soon reach alarming malaria figures. Good thing is it can be prevented but for those already affected, treatment is within reach. Congrats to our amiable designer.

  46. To Anon. January 24 5.30 pm. Please leave the man alone. What's a normal life? Maybe he has not been impregnating girls and ruining their chances of motherhood with abortions, or even killing them with septic abortions. Gay is as normal as straight. Many of the world's greatest designers and creative/intellectual minds have been gay. Alan Turing invented the system of the modern computer without which we wouldn't be communicating now, and he was gay. Every time you type at a computer, you are enjoying the fruit of gay intellect. Just wish the poor man well and don't tell him of a gay man who met a miserable end. Don't straight people die miserably as well? Is a straight fornicator morally superior to a gay fornicator? No.
