Photos: Patience Jonathan's alleged billion naira hotel under construction in Yenagoa

This is the billion naira hotel under construction in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state allegedly owned by the First Lady of Nigeria, Mama Peace. I got the stills from a video shot by Kayode Ogundamisi for Sahara TV. You will find more photos after the cut...

Also see photos of the massive family compound of the Jonathans which is under full military guard in Otueke in Bayelsa State after the cut...

  16. Linda, it's been an open secret for years!

The hotel has been under construction for the last 4/5 yrs. At a point they tried dissuading the public by spreading rumors of it being an office/hostel for her Aru-era Foundation.

Also, The pictures with the maroon colored building is not their family compound in Otuoke.

That building is her old hotel (can't remember the name but it has ''resort'' in the name) which is almost directly opposite the new federal university in Otuoke. But yes, it's on the same road as their compound (5/8 minutes walk).

And yes, that armored personnel carrier has been positioned there since around 2009/2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I understand acting uninterested/doing a little bit shakara but it shouldn't be prolonged cos he may not even have all that time to waste dealing with your Shakara. Anyway, no use crying over spilt milk. Deed is done so move on. That's how people miss out on good partners. Lesson learnt!

Its Cː̗̀☀̤̣̈̇ː̗̀☀̤̣̈̇l to form hard to get, but there's a limit to everything. As a busy guy, I don't particularly enjoy it when girls do unneccessary shakara. I hate begging to get a girls noumber. They are better ways to be intriging than being silly. For instance, I'll like a girl to give me her number(if she's interested) & tell me I shouldn't expect her to pick my calls cos am still a stranger. That way she can heighten my anxiety while keeping the line of communication open. I can go on & , but I digressed. You girls could be funny but you are damn hilarious. Just forget about your friend & the guy & become more reasonable in 2014. As an adult don't reject things you want, worst of all passing it  to someone...phew

They call call call, you keep playing hard to get. Soon the job was given to another person, and you get pissed. Are you justified or not?

That compound you describe as massive is not his compound, it's his wife's hotel @ Otuoke built when he was a deputy Governor, the President's home is not too far from there, it is not massive and not even completed yet... Even if it were to be massive just remember he has been a deputy governor, a governor, vice president and is a president now so he must have enough money, and that hotel belongs to his wife it has been under construction since he was a governor. You people should stop hating this man he has done nothing to anybody.

  98. Some Nigerians clearly are suffering from Stockholm syndrome. You are being raped and instead of screaming for help, some people are actually defending Madam Patience?! Our problem is more serious than I thought....God help us and dont just address the issue of these corrupt leaders but also our battered and disfunctional national pysche that thinks this is alright.

  99. So speaking out against corruption is now defined as ''hating the president' and the media who published this as 'bitter disgruntled opposition'??? This country is truly sick...really ill... I pity GEJ's successor if he or she wants to be different and be ethical. Nigerians will probably insult him or her for not stealing! Nigeria is sick. Long live Nigeria

  107. i dont comment on corruption issues anymore cause It is obvious Nigeria will forever dwell in corruption. a survey of comments on lindas blog tells enough already. I mean how foolish can someone get. u have caught A stealing. u then say A isn't a thief because B,C,D are bigger thieves. isn't that stupidity

  111. This is arguably the most beautiful structure in the whole of Bayelsa State..I just passed it today and I always admire it each time I look at it. Well, N/Delta owns the oil so they can afford to do what they damn please with it...Who arrested Gen Abacha and co when they stole our oil money and stashed it away in Swiss banks? Welldone Mama Peace but remembering the suffering riverine people ooh

Then we should not hold our leaders accountable what a shaaaaame on you. Truly i will like the journalist to give us pictures of the other politicians it will be a balance and sincere journalism. Am sorry for Niaja if we have just ten of Helen's time. It is a Pity

  114. What's wrong with the First Lady investing money in our country. Have you consider those that steal our money and yet take it to some other developed country to invest there. Go to Dubai and see what our politicians are doing with our money. As for the family house there is nothing massive about it.

  115. This blog has been an eye opener for me to the way nigerians think, when i read comments from Libers,it makes me regret being part of this country, how i wish i could reverse that...why on earth would someone in his/her right senses justify this action saying all sorts of crappy things,'he has been vice this',he has been in public that..when will nigerians ever hear the truth and just for once acknowledge it,instead of twisting it and looking for a way to justify it...our thinking is so shallow, which is why 90% of graduates are unemployed...When will we wake up,speak out and fight for what's OURS that is being looted by some group of people..if bleaching fit change me to oyinbo,i for bleach aswear....Some idiot still dey talk say dem pay Linda to post pictures...
abeg o Linda post this comment

  116. This is nothing compared to the gigantic two-storey, bulletproof reinforced mansion she built a few hundred metres away from the govt house in Port Harcourt, costing nothing short of N30bn. The mansion can be likened to the one at the Buckingham Palace. Built simply because she doesn't want to stay in the Presidential lodge reserved for the presidency by the Rivers State Govt. Mr A.

  117. @anon 11:55 by your comment I can conclude that you are an unemployed graduate... So obvious

  118. Hmm..not that I'm hapy wit Jona n his wife r doing wit this country, but dis post isn't necessary! There's nothing about this story...the Jona house isn't spectacular, not unless its made of gold throughout! Compound is even small sef, for village houses where land is supposed to be "surplus".. The fact remains that Jonas tenure hasn't brought much development to the nation, so we r all bitter n hence attack them at every opportunity..next thing now, we'd b talkin about how he bought car for his cousin..lol.. Jona needs to put Nigeria in order.. I don't blame pple for being angry, if u had to sleep n wakeup without power in dis heat-infested PH..spending half ur sleeptime chasing hungry mosquitos away, or trying to block out d roaring sounds of ur neighbours gen set.. We have the right to be angry!

  120. Linda, please stop rehashing the rubbish this paid agent of destruction, called SaharaReporters, publishes online...
Sowore, who was nearly killed in the early 90’s by fellow students as a Student Union executive in UNILAG, has poison running in his veins as blood...
Mark my words, some day in the future, you may just become the target of that goblin of destruction for no reason than that you're making it...
Sowore doesn't like, as he cannot stomach, successful people or institutions...
He is such a cynical bastard, ensconced in the US, busily spewing poison all over the place, and bullying everybody save himself with his nasty SR...
I have had cause sometime to help in doing damage control for a certain bigman I know rather closely who that swine nearly destroyed with the lies and hype he spewed as story on his site...
Sowore has no basic orientation in mainstream journalism...
But because that profession is an all-comers one, guaranteed as such under section 39 of the 1999 Constitution, the likes of Sowore could find a corner for belly-aching over every successful person, working so hard to taint their success or accomplishments as the product of sleaze or corruption...
He is the only one good FOR HIM MIND...
Unfortunately uncouth arses like him embody the worst of personalities...
Ask those who know or work with him closely...
Do you care to ask why this narrow focus on Jonathan, his family and government?
Is Jonathan the only politician in Nigeria?
The focus is so EXCESSIVELY on Jonathan that the real thieves are smiling away to local and foreign banks with their easy loot; indeed getting away with murder, because people are not just looking in their direction, but Jonathan's!!!
Is it Fashola that has not become richer since assuming governorship of Lagos State?
Ask those working in Alausa and they will regale you with sordid anecdotes of profligacy and corruption!!!!
I ask yet again: Why the narrow and inordinate focus on Jonathan???
What is this sadism about destroying that good man???
This excessive focus on him, which is being sponsored by the real thieves just to keep the public eye from tracking them, is not only foolish, it is schizophrenic!!!

  121. Stella, I have visited Yenegoa Bayelsa and I think it's very right to have some sort of life there. It would be more shameful to have had a President from there with the place still looking remote. Lagos, Abuja and Port harcourt shouldn't be the only opened up cities. Weldone dame.

  122. A modest one by all accounts. This compares to nothing if those paid chaps at Sahara Reporters would be fair-minded enough to show us the ones of ALL the other so-called leaders including those of power-hungry APC chieftains. It seems like a goldmine for Sahara Reporters to only go after the Jonathans. Hope they would soon start parting with some of the pay. Bad boys indeed.

  131. Why not use this billions of naira to build a good up to standard hospital? Why all these hotels to perpetuate adultery and fornication. Nigeria does not need more hotels. How about fixing the roads and building good healthcare facilities. Nigerians have to go to India, even Ghana for medical services! It is not good o.

    ReplyDelete
  132. If you must know Linda, the House at Otueke is not massive, some LGA chairmen in your state have better houses, the hotel is now functional n managed by foreigners. In addition, one truth is, if u are 1st lady today, which i pray u will be someday, u need not loot to own property, the gifts n goodwill u will receive if u choose to, is enough toget u virtually everthing u ever dreamed of. I speak from a vantage point.

  133. The hotel doesnt even look like one built with billions of naira. E just resemble hostel, waste of money
