Princess Adetutu Adeside-Ojie's position is said to be temporary pending when a new king emerges. She was installed after several traditional rites for the passage of her late father came to conclusion recently. The 36 year old new monarch lived abroad most of her life and holds a degree in pharmacy from the Texas Southern University, Houston Texas.
Until her appointment as the Kingdom's regent, Princess Adetutu worked as a clinical pharmacist with the University Health system, Hospital in San Antonto Texas. She is married with three children.

DeleteLike really? First time I'm seeing this
ReplyDeleteIts a common tradition in yoruba land, she's not a king o,she's only what we call a "Regent" and it is only temporary......#akureandproud
DeleteTo be honest, the Yorubas are the most gender- friendly people in Nigeria. There is little to no discrimination between male and female offspring. I wish other ethnic groups will follow suit.
DeleteThey are called adele in yoruba

DeleteAnonymousDecember 30, 2013 at 2:51 PM, you are a big fat fool and an idiot to crown it all. What has this got to do with end time. It is obvious your time on earth is coming to an end. Not to worry LIB readers won't attend your funeral, we would leave it for deludes and fools like you to attend. Mtchweeee

ReplyDeleteGud 4 er
ReplyDeleteOk oooo
ReplyDeleteNo male in the family?
ReplyDeleteAt every point in time a king is to set to attain a throne in most part on the Yoruba kingdom, he must produce one of his female child that will become a regent, when he dies for a period of time, before another king succeeds the late king. In the case where he does not have a female child which is very rare, he could choose any of his royal sibling's daughters. And for those commenting about what she will speak with the people of Akure, I can assure you that she will be able to speak the local language. These people are prepared for it and they learn their culture and tradition despite their foreign education.
ReplyDeleteHappy for you sweet

ReplyDeleteLinda, this's the best place once my fingers are idle and I can't stop laughing at the most unbelievable and hilarious comments emanating from guys with their unbelievable responses to the culture, value and the tradition of their father or motherland, which has exposed the lack of cultural education in schools. I just pitied our future generations, if some people could be hearing of Regent for the first time..Ofcuz, the source of foods like yams, and potatoes would be from trees if not bakery soon...lol
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that most Blog visitors here lack courtesy? As in,i wonder if if some of u are or were prison inmates. Can't u comment without attacking or cussing someone?
ReplyDeleteLiB was nt this bad with all these venom babish comments and traffic congested adverts.I fore-saw this and emailed Linda chopping Ikeji in January.Nothing came out of it.
By d way,i tot things wl be better after ASUU calls of d strike but some funny names, attitudes and comments keeps pumping out on LiB alone.SHAIT!!!
For Nigeria!haaah!! We r moving forward!!I can see dat!

ReplyDeleteReally amazed at this.. -even tho I wouldn't vote for this, wishing her all the best #grt wisdom especially... Conglatulobia madam
ReplyDeleteWhy temporary monarch?
ReplyDeleteKai ! The Husband must be feeling great. I wonder what he'll be called now. I guess the KING's fucker... Hahahahahahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteWow!she king? love that but it can't happen in iboland
ReplyDeleteStop misleading people. she is a regent not a King! and there have been female regents in the past. too many dull nigerians
ReplyDeleteFor fellow Ibos who don't understand the cultural practice here just watch and learn. These traditional institutions have been preserved and were not corrupted by European influence. While theirs is a monarchy, ours was a sort of parliament, kingship in Igbo land as portrayed by nollywood is flawed. Europeans only introduced warrant chiefs because of the indirect rule system. Igbo enweghi Eze.
