Drag queen apologizes for derogatory comment after Nigerians attack her on Twitter

Choi, you LIBers can kill somebody o..lol. After I shared Scottish drag queen @LadyMunter's tweets where she asked if we have clothes in Lagos (find it HERE), Nigerians went on the attack on Twitter. As in, they finished her and she was forced to apologize. She says it was a joke. Expensive joke ni yen. Anyway, apology accepted! See more tweets after the cut...

  7. i pity her ignorance,if not she would have known that Tiwa Salvage wears more clothes than rihanna and Chidinma puts on more clothes than lady gaga and miley combine. However, i wish naijans could attached naija politicians and their corrupt tendencies with such vigor and disgruntlement, cos the politicians are the ones actually exposing and bringing naija to disrepute and shame worldwide. Politicians in America and Europe strive to make their country the best and most respectable in the world but naija politicians are destroying and tearing naija apart with their corruption.

If ELLE had said something like they were pleasantly surprised by the designs or they weren't expecting things like that out of Africa, then her comment could be taken to be ironic or facetious or sarcastic. We're not foolish please. And in the original article ELLE says Lagos is a city of oil reserves. When did we strike oil?

  57. Hello Linda,

Guillotina Munter is a man and not a woman. According to wikipedia, A drag queen is a MAN who dresses, and often acts, like a caricature woman often for the purpose of entertaining. It would therefore be incorrect to refer to him as a woman. If he were to be a woman, he would have been described/ or describe himself as a Faux Queen. It is also important to note that most of these people are transvestites or gay. I'm hoping you would post this so that people can learn a new word today *wink* Have a good "rest of the week".

  85. Those Nigerians that responded by attacking the drag queen shows how aggressiveness and intolerance have taken away our sense of humour. A group of Africans from other countries once told me that Nigerians are the only nationals that demand services and respect they cannot get in there country from others outside our country. It's a sign of weakness and inferiority complex. Why have we not attacked our politicians and civil servants who have done worse than stealing our future. We are angry people, we are aggressive people, we never accept fault, we are know it all people, everyone in Nigeria is a king, who is going to be the follower, we are hypocrites, we have no tolerance, we are wicked people, we cannot be trusted, we are heartless, we are greedy, we are jealous people, unfortunately. I know it's hard to accept this but it's the plain truth and we all know this in our heart. Anyway, it's all good, some day we will change, in our hearts and that's when true development will commence in our nation.

Majority of Nigerians are angry 24/7. Sometimes i ask myself how can people who say they are the most educated Africans and blacks in the World behave and act so uncivilized?? Some of you are praising rubbish act and saying "Naija no dey carry last," "I trust Naija" will be the same people complaining about Naija bad reputation around the world. Behaving in such manner is nothing to be proud of.
