Two planes collide at Lagos airport

According to a report by Punch, a minor accident occurred yesterday Friday Oct. 25th at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos as two aircraft wings collided.
The Turkish Airline plane wings collided with that of Max Air plane which had brought in Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia. The Turkish Airplane had landed safely but was taxiing to stop at the airport’s apron when its wing collided with that of Max Air.
The collision resulted in minor damages to both airplanes and sources said they had been  taken away for repairs. Spokesman, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Fan Ndubuoke confirmed the incident. He however said damages to the aircraft belonging to both airlines were minor and that both planes had been taken away for repairs.

    1. Nothing happened nah. A plane landed and decided to greet another plane on ground. Kind of like a handshake, but in this case, a wingshake.

  13. Some morons here will soon start blaming the aviation minister the for air traffic marshal's mistakes. Its unfortunate that some naïve pple here have refused to see the politics behind all these witch hunting allegation against the aviation minister just because she upgraded enugu airport to an international airport. Some pple out of tribal sentiments are trying to denigrade her efforts and make her look bad.

  27. Wat is nigeria turnin into. We don't even hv air traffic control 2 avoid such collusion on ground not 2 mention airborne. Smh

    ReplyDelete
  28. Nah but seriously, when will the government in Nigeria police airlines. They need to review the airport as this is becoming a concern (and frightening)!!! Fix the airport so that people are not fearful of travelling to and fro Nigeria.

  37. Pple shd stop blaming Odua 4 every mishap happenin in d aviation sector, is she d pliot? Bcos she refused to rub body wit aviation cabal dey r bent on tarnishin her image. Bt woo to all of you, she will succeed. For d first tym a black box ws analysed in nigeria ws in her tenure jt to find out d crash ws d pilot's fault, other major crash in Nig sosoliso, Dana, etc where r deir black boxes, dey were all swept under d carpet.

    1. Obviously an Igbo boy or girl who participated in d 5K that was distributed to have people say things like this or maybe a member of 'aka ikenga'. Ghana next door has not had a crash for more than 50yrs and u're commending someone cos d black box was found. Which do u think d relatives of those who lost their lives would prefer: following due process to ensure that only aircrafts that are fit to fly operate in d country or finding the black box of a crashed plane? Wake up cos with people with your kind of mentality, Naija will be this way in 100years.
