NCAA is not even ashamed to do a press conference and say they are looking for the whistle blower who broke the story of the two BMW
armoured cars bought for Aviation Minister, Ms. Stella Oduah valued at N225million. Instead of looking for the whistle-blower, shouldn't they be prosecuting someone or some people for fraud and extortion?
The DG of NCAA, Capt. Fola
Akinkuotu, said at a press conference which held yesterday Friday October 18th at the ministries HQ in Abuja, that the Federal Government was
concerned about how the information got leaked to the public, saying that whoever leaked it committed a criminal offence.
“I am not saying that this particular information should not be put in the public domain, but how it was obtained is the concern. If somebody breaks into an office and makes copies of official documents, then the break-in has become criminal. So we are in the process of trying to find the source of this leakage and I am very concerned about it because this information may look trivial but there are other information that we have that are confidential and it is only fair for us to respect the confidentiality of information. I am not saying that they broke into our office, but they obtained the information illegally.”
“I am shell shocked that government information and particularly information from the civil aviation authority has gotten into public purview in an illegal manner. It is criminal! However, what has been done has been done, but I think when such information is gotten, you should have come to the agency to ask. We are not shy to take your questions."US whistle blower Snowden went on the run after putting such information in the public domain. The sources of the leak I don’t know, but yesterday, I issued a circular to all staff on this issue. I will read a little part of the circular: ‘Without prejudice to the nature and the purpose of this act, you should know that leakage and ultimate publication is a matter of great concern to the authority.’
The NCAA DG also tried to explain why ONLY two BMW cars cost N225million. He kinda blamed it on the car company, saying that it was bought from a company (Coscharis) which had no competitors in Nigeria. He said;
“First, each car that you buy nowadays has a customised aspect to it and this may impact on the price. The other factor is what I call the environmental situation. Yesterday, a gentleman from Britain met me and said the fares in this country on British Airways and Virgin Atlantic are high. And he wondered why the situation had continued, but he said it was because Nigerians could afford it.
Wow! So whatever Coscharis says is the price, you pay? Unbelievable! EFCC should get involved!“So the other aspect in this particular context is what I will call the monopolistic situation on these cars. Coscharis, as far as I understand, is about the only guy that sells BMW of this nature in Nigeria. If he is the only one selling, then you must buy from him if you want the car and he can name the price. So those are factors that may have resulted. But mind you, I am not holding brief for this. I do not know how much the cars cost and I cannot relate or answer the question on the actual cost of these cars. But were they budgeted for? Yes.”
lol, which is more illegal wasting our money or bring such dastard acts to the public? madam answer
ReplyDeleteImagine!bunch of clueless useless fools!
ReplyDeleteIntact are these people for real.... I am short of words. They committed a fraud and they are looking for someone else It is time this arrogant woman finally resigns... Aha
ReplyDeleteTrying to distract from the real issue, and the sad thing is that they'll probably will be successful. No one will ever get punished for the inflated prices of the vehicles
ReplyDeleteWat is dis country turning into? Fraudulent people in power. Dis Stella odua with her rainbow face should b made to resign and face d music . Bloody thief. Assu is stil on strike and thieves like her r wasting d country's resources. Valcol says so.
ReplyDeleteOnly God will save and help Nigeria. What misplaced priority!!! Lives have been lost recent via plane crashes and our aviation leaders are busy lavishing tax payers' monies on frivolities. And instead of addressing the anomaly our brother is complaining about the whistle blower whom god will bless for us. Na wa oooo!!!

ReplyDeletePathetic thieves! Instead of lambast yourselves for corruption you guys are busy looking for who revealed your thievish tendencies! SMH!
ReplyDeleteSo these band of thieving nitwits are more concerned about how the information leaked than they are about inveatigating, trying and prosecuting Mrs Stella Oduah and those who increased the actual cost of the vehicles to enrich their never filled-up purses?
ReplyDeleteMrs Stella Oduah, bloody resign already, would you? Can't GEJ terminate this lady's appointment or something?
Well, they know Nigerians won't move a finger other than rant on dailies and blogs, they know Nigerians don't demand for accountability and are always gonna exhibit a high level of apathy towards issues like this, that's why they do the things they do.
Such a shame!
I tire o! I don't know wot Stella, Oteh & Allison have over him, he just can't seem to have the balls to touch them. Might the be more to it??? After all the noise made bout Allison & ppl calling for her probe during occupy Nigeria, nothing happened. When Oteh had the scandal then with the house of rep. member, she didn't as much as get a warning talk less of suspension now this Stella. Even when he reshuffled is cabinet, they were not touched, what gives???
DeleteWhat did you expect? Useless man and an even more useless minister.

ReplyDeleteWith due respect, it is a known fact that the average Nigerian is a criminal.
ReplyDeleteMoreso, if the civil servants were to live within their income, chances are that they will never own a building or good property to their names.
However, she should be prosecuted accordingly.
In my humble opinion, prosecuting her might not be successful coz illegally obtained evidence are admissible during trial but are later jettisoned for its illegality.
Mrs. Oduah has the most job security in the world. Every blunder backfires on someone else.
ReplyDeleteImpunity of the highest order.
ReplyDeleteI pity for this country.

People are now afraid to board aircraft, the brave ones are losing their lives in it,bread winners are gone, fathers, mothers, future generations are all perishing in plane crash, yet they could afford #255million for cars just for one peron who should be sacked from office.
I really hope the EFCC are waiting to devour these criminals. No wonder she is not married. Materialistic woman.

ReplyDeleteI knew it will come to this.
ReplyDeleteThe DG of NCCA and the aviation minister are both criminals.. After spending so much money on two cars they can still rant publicly then something is sure wrong with them.. The Minister and her cabinet should be made to pay for the cars with their salary.. Public theivies..
ReplyDeleteThere is so much hunger in the land.Person dey use 255 million naira buy just 2 cars. What a waste of my money.
ReplyDeletei guess she`s one of the untoucable girlfriends of this wasteful president.to HeLL with morality, stealing public funds just got my approval.
ReplyDeleteThis nation, this country, rules are made. Same makers break the rule. Funny. This DG or what so ever they call you. Why is your comments most used words are " I didn't say" thought you are matured to say, " I said". But well, the leakage of this info is right there beside your guys. And for cosmos maduka, his doing is own business. He can decide to dash out the car if he chose to. Long Live Nigeria. And respect to all Anambra Business Men ABM. Cheers. Engr Emy.

ReplyDeleteSome things never change. Nigeria is in a hopeless situation. It is a big shame!
ReplyDeleteI cannot even believe this!like are you for real??blaming the price on the monopolistic nature of the car company!what sort of a democratic government tries to cover corruption??The most annoying thing is that there are many other politicians who engage in such criminal activities!as far as I am concerned, she and whoever authorized this statement should be taken to court. This is criminality at its peak. There is noneed to attempt to cover this act with silly claims that the so called whistleblower got d info illegally!
ReplyDeleteIts cos its govt mny dats y wateva coscharis says u'll pay u pay if it was 2b her own mny she'll definitely debate price...mtcheeewwwwwwww nonesense
ReplyDeleteyeah i love dis country of mumu youths, who are only interested in reading LIB without doing anything tangible about the article.
ReplyDeleteWTF!!! Does this mean the documentation, the check writing, and process of paying coscharis was done singlehandedly by one person such that it had to be a break and entry that yielded the information? If that is the case, the person who singlehandedly made a purchase with tax payers naira without going through the financial services and procurement departments for the parastatal should be arrested immediately as that is fraud. NONSENSE. How can one person be the check and balance, the law, and the pen in an entire agency?
ReplyDeleteLinda, nawa for you. I guess you do not know how much bullet proof cars cost. My only problem with all this is why they had to buy two. The average uncustomized BMW of that class cost about $130,000 to $200000 depending on how u customize it. If u want bullet proof, it could cost 3 to five times that depending on the level of armor. If u were in her shoes with all those enemies, would you not order one of those cars?
ReplyDeleteHear another animal talking shit. May thunder and brimstone strike your forehead. May your life and that of your family be worse than the situation of Nigeria today. May all your wealth and that of all you defending Stella be consumed by corruption like the wealth of Nigeria today. Amen!

ReplyDeleteThis is the money they collected from private jet owners, instead of paying lectures so they can call off strike, they are buying cars, because and I quote "Nigerians can afford them"

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness this bastard actually quoted the US whistle blower "snowden"!!!!!!!!! Guy, are u mad???? Did any of the govt official spend ridiculous amounts of money on redundancies in his report??? He leaked info on govt secrets..you bastards spend $1.6M on 2 cars for some bitch! The US presidents car isn't worth $1.6M...its not even worth $200k with all its security..and he is a honorable man, not like all you thieving idiots in the nigerian govt who actually deserve to die. Get this fucking bitch out of govt NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET HER OUT!!!!! NOOOOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a Nation!
ReplyDeleteKids are out of school, Boko Harram is killing everyone, there are no jobs, there is no security, and you guys and spending $1.6M dollars on just 2 vehicles. ReplyDeleteAre u kidding me?... The DG of Civil Aviation saying this?... What is this country turning into?... Is more criminal to obtain documents illegally than falsification of figures "fraud"?... Instead of him to address the main issue, he's there blabbing! Na wah o
ReplyDeletewe Nigerians can be stupid, shouldn't there be a petition to remove this woman as aviation minister.
ReplyDeletelike the rest before her, nothing will happen, may God judge them.
But let Nigerians rise and fight for their right, because people like her dont care about Nigerians.
Until Nigeria becomes like syria
Pls ds guy shout Shut the hell up. Wot rubbish. I am so angry. Ds is corruption of the highest order. Ds is the time they wld be looking for a whistle blower. Nigeria!!! Nigeria!!! Where is this country heading to? Is there hope at all?

ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, ur cmment n d issue is totally on point. Whrz EFCC when u need them!!! What a corrupt government!
ReplyDeleteNonsense..this is ridiculous. 10x the actual price!!!!. Coscharis shld be sanctioned and the excess collected back. This is our money.
ReplyDeleteu can afford it with stolen money so buy it. thievesssss
ReplyDeleteYou're so stupid and senseless! But that's the ethics on Nigerians because how can he say he doesn't know how much the cars cost when it was budgeted for and he also knew where and how the car was purchased! I say he and everyone involved should be investigated because they are trying to do some last minute spendings to clear the leftovers before she leaves the office... What a country we live in! Too bad I'm on of them too and I hope she dies and her corpse die a second death in a bulletproof private jet! Linda better post my comment if not I'll kiss your sexy lips. Beijos
ReplyDeleteNaija abracadabra....lol.
ReplyDeleteGovernment officials who have no shame or honour.
ReplyDeleteThe public has every right to know what is happening in every govt sector. It's highly criminal 2 use tax payers money to buy bullet proof cars. Wind chasers.
"NCAA is not even ashamed to do a press conference and say they are looking for the whistle blower who broke the story..." In that case, it shouldn't be 'haunted'. Rather, it should be 'hunted' in relation to the title. Prince Charming, am I right? Lol..
ReplyDeleteCan u imagine this thieves ....chai dis country don suffer ooo...
ReplyDeletewonders shall never end,is only in Nigeria u can hear such thing. so, is the whistleblower they are looking for now not the Thief Oduah? God please safe this country from this mess

do you think throwing baseless language will cover your shame?
You are in a country where the airports lack basic infrastructure and you feel it is better to buy an expensive car?
There were instances when airports could not light up the run way at night, because of lack of electricity at that particular point in time ..
There are port holes @ some runways in these country!

Foolish dull NCAA have you not heard of the freedom of information act?
STELLA ODUAH SHOULD PLEASE RESIGN
SHE IS A BIG SHAME
Just imagine wot d fool is saying.usless set of PPle
ReplyDeleteHmMmm...
ReplyDeleteTruth is treason in the Empire of Falsehood. This revelation speaks volume of the moral rot in our political sphere. How do we intend to curb mismanagement and graft in the public sector when whistle blowers are often targeted? Why do we have a culture that rewards malfeasance and honor charlatans, but punishes the truth teller? This is a case of manifest impunity and utter disregard for the people, instead of the Ministry to try to convince and justify the outrageous amount(over-pricing) the cars were purchased, the ministry is now on a man hunt.
ReplyDeleteDo these 'aviation-related foreign dignitaries' get to ride in a $800,000 armoured vehicle in their countries? No! Little wonder Africa is referred to as a Bongo Bongo land!
Damage control in progress!!!but it won't save her ass...Corrupt- Pervert- Human-Blood-Suckers.....your Doom is impending n you shall all Rot In Pieces with your Master SatAN....GOD IS WATCHING...you shall all die horrible n violent Deaths if you don't Repent...#AUSTIN BILL#»»»»»»

ReplyDeleteYou're right Linda; EFCC should really get involved. When they should be using all that money to check out the high rate of plane crashes in Nigeria, they are spending that much on protecting one human
ReplyDeleteI am very certain Mrs Stella oduah will get away with dis scandal and particularly, I won't be caught surprise when it turns out so. every Nigerian politician or public office holder knows that we the masses are only good at making fuss and noise over improper public funds management and corruption without taking any serious action whatsoever in its regard. like when it was revealed that the president's meal allowance per annum is almost 1billion Naira, we all shouted and that was the end of it. not until laws like that practice in China where public officials are put to death if found guilty of corruption, Nigeria will still be living in her "stone age". Shey we all remember Dimeji Bankole did away with over 40billion Naira too and na shout we shout. nobody prosecute am!!!
ReplyDeleteGod save Nigeria.
Useless people!!!!! A country where money turns a normal human being into a mindless specimen that speak thru their arses!

ReplyDeleteA bulletproof G-Class costs about 65m, a V8 land cruiser costs about 62m. So even if you mark this up with the approved 35% on FG procurement, fraud has happened and people must go for it.

ReplyDeleteMy people, all the ranting and bumbles end here. Come next election, the power belong to us. We must adequately profile every contestants. Any little of dishonestly is a no go for us. That's even a single trait. We must demand a concise debate. We must organize ourselves with a concise and firm organization. For this nation to change and see the desired results like developed nations, even common Ghana are now improving. We must take a stand and be firm. We bring this to ourselves already. The Change lie within ourselves and we have the power to make it Right. These Fools, thieves, incompetent, weak and dead brains, yes they deserve all those names and confirm need to be voted out of power. We must stand united for the common CHANGE. We are brother keepers and love your neighbors and yourselves is the words. May God bless us with a credible head, though we have to work. Lots of work. God bless Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteFKK is keeping mute on this or is he involve in the whistleblowing thing. Asides that, Nigerians deserve accountability of every kobo in and out of any public offices. It should be our RIGHT from now on. It shouldn't be confidential. We must fight for this right to materialize. How can they ruling us without knowing how our money is being spent. The oil and every damn resources belong to the populace and the elected leaders are chosen to properly manage it. We need our RIGHT to every public spending. Never confidential.
ReplyDeletethis woman is a bloody illiterate. who put her there? what does she even know about her job
ReplyDeleteWhere the police needs to go is the Ijebu axis in Ogun state . The number of armed robbers operating from there is just too enormous. They have made the Sagamu bypass of the Lagos - Ibadan expressway a very dangerous path. They rob people of their vehicles and them abduct them for hours in some thick bushes around Ijebu areas (Ososa , Sagamu etc ) , until they have sfaely moved the stolen vehicles away, before releasing their victims along the Sagamu - Benin expressway. Being stuck in vehiculat traffic around this area is full of life-threatening apprehensions, as the robbers could appear at any moment.
ReplyDeleteI was a victim , and have also heard several similar stories from some other victims. I believe the police stations around the Ijebu areas must have recieved several of such reports as well ; so what exactly have they done about the sitaution , if they are not abetting the crime.
Fani femi KAYODE must be smiling where he is reading n hearing all these stories I guess
ReplyDeleteI believe you mean 'hunted' and not 'haunted'
ReplyDeleteFellow Nigerians,. one only has to drive the streets of Abuja to see how govt depts spend vast sums of money on cars. Examples are police and customs -> fantastic range of BMWs, ministry of agriculture - range rovers, state governors, senate president and house leader -MB600SL and so the list goes on and on. I guess we live in a very rich country with excellent schools, universities, hospitals, airports, roads, seaports, low unemployment, low crime, etc so we can afford to fund the lavish lifestyles of elected and public officials. So c'mon stop moaning and carrying on paying :-)!

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, we will continue to see these ridiculous excesses and many many more will go undiscovered as long as people who have no business whatsoever in leadership continue to man the helm of affairs in our country. How does this person qualify to be a Minister of Aviation? “Plane crashes are an act of God”……no less!!! Does that sound like the thought-stream of a person intent on righting any wrongs in the aviation sector? Does she sound like she wants to leave the sector with any memorable developments? The whole country is filled with Minions like these in both government and private establishments. People with no formal training for, and no just claim to the positions they occupy. Everyday we see a new story in the banking sector, one ministry or the other, a government agency……has no-one noticed that these people all have one thing in common? Why then do people go through the pains of becoming experts in their various special fields of endeavor if all you really have to do is to know a few “right” people? There are scores of highly qualified people who can be Ministers of Aviation, Directors of various government agencies etc and who will be (more likely) inclined to have a desire to make a lasting impact in order to remain in reckoning long after they leave the service. We need to create a system that automatically “vomits” pegs that are not fashioned to fit into the appropriate holes. That may in the long run be the solution to incessant strikes, unrest and other manifestations of the widespread corruption we have come to accept as “our way”. -
