Please donate to Associated Air crew members who survived crash

You've all heard about Toyin Samson and Queeneth Owolabi, the two air hostesses who survived the Associated Airlines crash that occurred on Thursday October 3rd (Read story HERE). Their friends are trying to raise money for their treatment. They are asking kind-hearted Nigerians to please donate to them. The money will be used to transfer them to a better hospital where they can get better treatment. Toyin has 19 years flying experience while Queeneth was a cabin service manager with Associated.

Account details
Oluwatosin Samson - Fidelity Bank - Acct number 6016185549 or Access bank - 0018012231
I'm waiting to get Queeneth's bank details...

  1. Imagine what you are asking for? How and why should Nigerians donate to them when the airline is to take responsibility of doing that?

  4. Our government is so useless, why can't these women be flown abroad for proper medical treatment? They are busy sending dead bodies abroad for DNA test instead of taking care of d survivors.....so sad

    1. Clarify before you chat jibberish. Dead bodies were not sent, DNA samples were. And the state is doing that. They are the responsibilty of the airline git! I wouldn't mind donating cos the longer we pass the buck, the longer they suffer!

  6. Am so sorry to say this and its nt that i dont pity dis girls.my question is y would general public be responsible for their health care,as a cabin crew am sure she will be covered with an health insurance policy or rather still the company shd take full responsibility of giving them the best care since the acciendent happened at point of duty.pls guys wht is ur veiw on dis?

  11. Everything is wrong with this request for donation. It doesn't even arise. Associate Airlines should foot all d medical bills and ALSO compensate the victims. Before this even arises, there should be comprehensive insurance of the airline staff in the very least. If, none of these exist, then there is everything wrong with this country. Even worse than we imagine!

  12. Are you people serious, or there is something more to this. Were they not on official duty when the crash occured? Associated airline is soley responsible for their treatment, if they refuse to treat them, then these friends should seek legal counsel.

  13. Is that the Airline or Agagu's famiIy can't assist?

  14. why are people being asked to donate - they had an accident while in service - shouldn't the company be responsible for that. I would expect that you would use this platform Linda to make sure the emplayers do right by their employees instead. This is a great platform Linda - use it wisely, why pander to the elite rich owners of the airline by not following up and making sure they are looking after their employees right ! Now if they were travelling on their own I can understand a call from you via this paltform for funds and I for one would be happy to contibute - but for this - haba Linda - i expected more from you

  16. Donate? Hm! Pls dnt get me wrong o; I am all for saving lives. But while we r donating, let us question d "investors" n "partners" of dat airline. what dey r doing! R these women not meant to hv some sort of insurance?! U see y we cnt progress? U see! Which body is responsible for checking that airlines hv adequate insurance for their staff? Nobody wants to work! I am vexed in my spirit, true. Ok dey ddnt do insurance....r dey trying to tell me that d investors cnt come 2geda n tk care of their staff? d money dey will spend wnt mke a dent on their accts, we all knw dat. 20. Hi Linda. Are you insinuating that crew members don't have life insurance cover? I think its mandatory for airline operators to have life cover for their staff on-board. Pls confirm.

    ReplyDelete
  21. People have started using the misfortune of others to make money...that's too sad! there's compensation for dead victims, so d airline shld treat d ones that made it. So friends shut up...thieves!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Associated airlines can't pay for their healthcare? Isn't the airline suppose to have insurance on its employees working such a risky job? I tire!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Don't understand are they not covered by the airline

    ReplyDelete
  24. Wait oooh, biko, you all should bear with me because onye juru ajuju anaghi efu ezi and I'm not a cheapskate, but as airline hostesses, aren't they supposed to be covered by some sort of insurance policy? Their medical bills should be covered by the airline na? Especially Toyin with 19 years experience. Abi? This doesn't seem right. And their friends are the ones soliciting for the funds? Hmmmmm. Btw, the mistake in the names, Linda, you wrote the ones name is ToYin while the account name says ToSin. I hope it's an honest mistake sha.

  33. Na wa oh! Why should Nigerians be the ones to donate why can't the airline pay for their treatment? This donate of a thing is getting ridiculous

    ReplyDelete
  34. What is Associated airline doing about their health? Have they abandoned them? They sustained this in the line of duty.

    ReplyDelete
  35. not to be a bitch, but shouldn't the airline be in complete charge of their treatment? isn't it their responsibility?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Nice gesture. I will donate. But wait a second, so what did Tinubu and his stealing cohorts go to do at the Hospital? To chek if his ignoble name was properly spelt on the name plate of the ward or what? What a waste of Leadership.

  37. ReplyDelete
  39. i think it is wickedness that an airline does not have medical insurance for its staff particularly their cabin crews. we have the employee compensation scheme, insurance scheme that would have solved this issue. govt should ensure that all companies have adequate medical cover for their staffs. The airline must ensure these women are taken care of and compensated well.

    ReplyDelete
  40. sorry for the victims, but pls linda you av not been posting my comment y well if u care to post this kindly tell d airline that is responsible for d accident to duely take care of the victims and the owners of the newly opened hotel to help fly dem abroad for treatment at least dey spend billions in building the hotel or else god is going to show his wonders on them.

  48. Naija and donations, donations, Its really a bad occurence but why must we capitalize on every issue, to obtain money. The airline company has insurance thats why we pay so much to board, so why put their pictures here for sympathy.
some people will just collect the poor peoples money for self benefit, please we have govt in this country, and there is a way tins like this are done. The Govt and the insurance company should reach a compromise and leave hungry citizens alone.

    ReplyDelete
  79. i sincerely Thank God for their lives and wish them full recovery but just wondering....dont dey have health insurance or smfin....i mean isnt ASSOCIATED airline suppose to foot their bill? i mean this ppl are their staff right?.....why should the public donate to save them when dey had an accident while working..... shdnt that be their company's responsibility?

    ReplyDelete
  80. what are the associated airline is doing concering their workers..

    ReplyDelete
  81. Are dey not covered under insurance by the associated airline? Why can't the company fly them abroad?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Inasmuch as I feel empathy for them, theres a greater evil done, once u start to solicit for funds for the staff of the airline. I stand to be corrected, but they must have employment contracts and im sure its stated how theu would be compensated should this kind of thing happened. If they signed the contract without any form of insurance cover from their employer, then this would serve as a deterrent for pple who seek airline or cabin crew jobs. This job is not a joke and is highly risky. Secondly, as for me, i dont see why the airline should get off easy. They should pay for the treatment of yheir staff or someone should head to the law courts. Its about time things are done right

    ReplyDelete
  83. Linda, come to think of it...Associated is supposed to take care of the victim's medical bills, friends and family soliciting for them should go to Associated Airline who is well capable to take up their medical bills, NCAA suspended Associated Airline and not their bank account.

    ReplyDelete
  84. in my opinion the bills should be footed by their employers (airline company) as they were on duty during the tragic event... Family and friends need not worry about the bills

    ReplyDelete
  85. people shd be wary of d acclaimed donation as d insurance company of d airline is supposed to b responsible for d medical expenses of d survivors and compensation of 10000 dollars to d deceased.besides, associated airline is suposed to be responsible for dir staff, so Why push d responsibility to nigerians?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Nigerian please kindly help, but there company should be responsible for these staffs, because the accident occured in the line of duty, which means they are entitled to workers compensation, with medical bills and all...dont know the rules that govern Nigerian worker?

    ReplyDelete
  87. I'm sorry but associated airlines should be footing their bills. Instead of asking the public for money they should be putting pressure on d airline. By the way, has the airline refused to pay their bills?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Linda, bia nah "Oluwatosin Samson" as you wrote or Oluwatoyin Samson?

    ReplyDelete
  89. i just need to ask ( make una no curse me O) why the heck do the friends have to raise money for the treatment, where is Associated airlines Management? they should ensure the survivors get the best treatment.

still i pray that God will send them help!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Its good to donate o, but those airlines are insured, air hostesses and pilots usually have their lives insured.
The airlines should be made to pay. Things should be done like any other civilized society! Instead of fighting for those people's rights some people think donations are a better method.

Okay! Am very upset by this! I thought airlines are supposed to have some sort of insurance for their employees!!
I smell a rat here, its either the friends raising the money are fake or human rights activists and their lawyers need to pay the airline a visit!

  131. Donate bawo? what is their company doing? is it that the Nigerian Government cannot mandate the airline to live up to its responsibilities? what kind of irresponsibility is this? If Fani Kayode talks now, we will say his own is too much, isn't this just outrageous? what happened to employee insurance?
