Delete2016? Dats way too far,Ouch!
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly how things should be done! Formally and maturely! The court should settle this. I hope others learn from this rather than taking issues to twitter to make up a brouhaha!
ReplyDeleteI admire ur sense of humour...u showed maturity by d way u responded to my diss on an earlier post
DeleteYou need Starbucks coffee?foolishness is unborn character model with y axes. A talent is wasting and idiot like you had to say that, did you think from your ass or from your eyes, brainless goat

ReplyDeleteNw u cme linda..brymo is tooo talented...well tey shld sort demselves out
ReplyDeleteArtists are really desperate wen deyre upcomin n need dat big break dey 4get 2 read terms/conditions of dier contract!! Nawa!! *ONYX GODWIN*
ReplyDeleteThey're so unfair. But why is Brymo's career full of so many controversies. God help you ma niccur.
ReplyDeleteAbeg they should sort dis out as family. Brymo sef shud stay calm instead of trying to dump his record label dat brought him out in a hurry. Dis young artist of nowadys don't want 2 share their profit wit any1.
ReplyDeleteChoc city will soon meet their waterloo, they did same to Jeremiah Gyang. Awon were pple. They know how to render pple useless, they cant do same to Jezze Jagz.
ReplyDeleteThey tried it. Useless. Nation without law, Brymo ignore them relocate the country will soon expire. Kellyhansom suffered the same from kennis music
DeleteCome that means they practically own him till he sorts himself out! That means the more the issue drags, the more he is outta work! Hunger go kill am oh!
ReplyDeleteI dont know the full story here, but i think its wicked to prevent someone from working when they are no more with you.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the ridiculous bonds companies make desperate job seekers to sign. sad.
2016 !!!!! Ahh you guys should chill . It's not fair now this guy is to talented not to work . Please sort this out amicably
ReplyDeleteBrymo should have known berra that Audu wld go legal on him, Gobe
ReplyDeletehe should not accept any intimidation.na wa oh!
ReplyDeleteGo & intimidate the court for him Na.
DeleteThat's why it's called a SIGNED CONTRACT.
ReplyDeleteIt is legal and binding and the terms should strongly be adhered to.
How the he'll do u walk out on ur record label after they have invested millions on ur career and u expect that life would just go on like that.
No sentiments. The record company should do what they want jor!
I actually like Brymo's music and he's a cool dude but let this be a lesson to all of US that once you sign a contract, then u are bound by its terms until the time period has passed.
No be today Diddy dey carry him artistes go court and still dance with them in their videos after he has won the case. Lol.
Brymo, just endure until the contract is over and then port to wherever u feel will benefit u.
*whispers* Oga brymo, d remedy is sing jagajaga songs till 2016 I assure u by 2014 na dem go release u to go..
DeleteTotally agree with u!
DeleteI AGREE 100%
DeleteVery smart comment. I feel bad for him but contract is contract. Brymo shuld just hang in there, work under choco city. 2016 is not too far.
DeleteThese kids don't learn..why do they not think before rushing to sign a contract? After acting desperately, they will now come out and rant....taaah.shout out to Davido and olamide..bosses of their own..
ReplyDeleteWa last for your comment yep they be boss of their own ooo
DeleteAbeg they should sort dis out as family. Brymo sef shud stay calm instead of trying to dump his record label dat brought him out in a hurry. Dis young artist of nowadys don't want 2 share their profit wit any1.
ReplyDeletehe should sort itself out or remain...... or talent disappear.
ReplyDeleteThat is why it is very important to read contracts before you sign it. Every artiste should have a lawyer represent them or business savvy individual to advice them before signing any kind of contract. Sadly most of them are just to eager to jump on the ship that they do not pay attention to what is being offered.
ReplyDeleteIf his contract with Chocolate city is till 2016, they have every right to prevent him from working outside his contract. This was the same issue that Jeremiah Gyang had with them. Brymo should have been a little more patient and tactful in the way he handled his exit. It doesnt matter if the relationship is failing, try as much as possible not to burn bridges. The only way out for him is to buy out his contract or find some other kind of resolution.
The deal is crazy... Make them live dis boi to get focus on his carrier.
ReplyDeleteOlodo, na career, no be carrier. Thank me later.
DeleteWow! I love Brymo... Producers all over the world are greedy. Make them go sing na....
ReplyDeleteLinda abeg change this your mouse pointer to default, this Guinness bottle is annoying joor.
ReplyDeleteThey probably has their reasons for doing such...buh all I know is that I can't wait to hv brymo back in the Game.....his voice is so unique en I luv his music...will do a colabo wif him some day#smiling
ReplyDeleteLinda to be truthful, Brymo is going d wrong way! It's only wizkid dah can walk out on his label and stl b big. Y? Because he's made name for himself and he's d best among the rest of EME stars apart frm banky yet he stl settled with them! I dnt knw wht went down b/w brymo and choc buh truth be told, dis is d exact reason why upcoming acts ar nt signed! Bcos frm xperience, u see someone u picked up and made bcom so big to d extent of warring with u! Brymo shld remember wen he was sleeping in soundcity and begging Denrele to help him to tlk to M.I chill till 2016 and then dnt renew ur contract! That's why there's a contract! Dnt fucking breach it! This thing called loyalty is fucking hard to find these days! I love Brymo's songs but he needs to be civil in this situation!
ReplyDeleteUr sayn d truith....no body forced hm to sign d contract e should short up n honor his contract terms.......or settle dem and stop makn notice....
DeleteHonestly speaking u re a big fool.well I don't blame u for running.ur mouth any how so he shld wait till 2016 right.am sure u don't av any good talent.

DeleteA BOND IS A BOND! HE SHOULD FULFILL HIS OBLIGATIONS OF HIS CONTRACT OR FIND A WAY OF BUYING HIMSELF OUT. LETS NOT BE SENTIMENTAL; THIS IS BUSINESS!
ReplyDeleteBrymo no mata wht u r going tru today God is wit u
ReplyDeleteI am always knew his macho girlfriend was nothing but bad luck. She takes it everywhere she goes...Sorry brymo...u deserve better. it's your learning curve though.
DeleteI pity for u Brymo all is well
ReplyDeleteNo body is above the law
ReplyDeleteChocolate city thunder go fire una backward eva 4 una, brymo is a moving train, cnt b stopped
ReplyDeleteWhy na? You no want make the guy grow? WTF
ReplyDeleteah!!!! they should just point a gun at him and kill instead of rendering him useless as for brymo why did u sign such a document without a legal consultant. thats a lesson for us all. WE SHOULD BE CAREFUL WHEN THINGS GO SO ROSY!
ReplyDeletebrymo no mind them joor them no fit stop me from listening to down.. wonderful tract.
ReplyDeleteWhy did he sign a contract that long? 2016 lohun lohun???? MI be a man and let this dude go and live his life joor. He no do again.
ReplyDeleteWow! This was def bound to happen..u jst can't walk away from a contract you signed..haba!! Linda, he can work o but thru choc city, he still has till 2016 with them..I even heard Brymo refused to show up at meetings set up to settle this matter...ppl shld advise him well o...things shld be done d right way..he has no case o!! Industry has changed o!! First to comment jare! Linda, put me up oo!
ReplyDeleteHe can work but it must be in line with his contract with cc
ReplyDeleteWetin dey happen o, na brymo now
ReplyDeletethe Guy is too good to be restrained oooo, pls let 'em sort It out, pls....
ReplyDeleteAbeg Choc city don spend money on u and u wan waka jst like that? Lai lai ooo! Brymo is not being wise joor! Even wizkid went to buy sense and settled with EME... A contract is binding na...let's not be lawless nigerians..nobody force u to sign o..better go and settle with Choc city oo
ReplyDeleteawwww why now?? ejoor e free brymo o*sad face*
ReplyDeleteNawao toobad
ReplyDeleteWhat the heck! Why.
ReplyDeleteYe!pendin d determinatn of d suit,interlocutory injunctn,
ReplyDeleteAbeg Chocolat city have mercy on my person ooo... Am a huge fan of Brymo
ReplyDeleteDem wan kill him carreer.yepa
ReplyDeleteBro,you gotta see out your contract as it legally binds you to do so.
ReplyDeleteSo he even has a contract till 2016 and he is running his mouth? Grow up, Brymo! Its a man's world o where business is business ... Artistes, take note o! If u can't ride d waves, don't enter the boat...be wise and settle amicably or renegotiate ur contract terms, that's all.
ReplyDeleteDayum..
ReplyDeleteAlthough I can't stand choc city, a contract is binding and should not be broken until both parties are on the same page. It is what it is broda brymo... but Choc city needs to be careful sha cos naija no be yankee.... Na arrow from village go destroy una empire within seconds if brymo vex and involve "awon aiye".... Dont fux with kats who get somebody for their back o...i don talk my "yown"
ReplyDeleteYoung man what name did you use to sign the contract better change name and continue your career or do something..
ReplyDeleteTHEY WANT TO STEAL HIM, if it is me, i will charge them fire.
ReplyDeletebetter as much.
ReplyDeleteOMG this is disheartening also a lesson to us all don't be too desperate to put pen to paper his trying to get back on his feet now this
ReplyDeleteNa by force?
ReplyDeleteThis is legally bad and wrong.
ReplyDeleteHis is a service contract and the label can only sue for breach of contract not enforcement of the contract. Brymo should seek to set aside or counter sue under his fundamental human right!
Ooh Jennifer, you got it all wrong. Its still a breach of contract suit. Sade Adu even had the same prblm and couldn't release an album/perform in concerts for 8 years simply because she refused to write her autobiography the way the recording label wanted it. These stuffs are kinda complicated and not as straight forward.
Delete@Jennifer This is a breach of contract. What do u call releasing an album and putting it on iTunes without the concert of your record company. Brymo is an ungrateful twat and that's just the truth. Its funny how people are criticizing Choc City. Oya form ur own label, pay for ur artiste music video, their transportation, accommodation, give them the connections and a platform... then wait for them to tell you that "you can go to hell" that they want out of their contract. People just want an easy way out. Suck it up.
Deleteif he knows his right or get a good lawyer, this case is a wash off. I hate corporate bullies.
ReplyDeleteGood for him
ReplyDeleteGood for Brymo
ReplyDeleteAudu is stupid
ReplyDeleteThis guy has been quiet all the while.....no o!
ReplyDeleteJust before ice prince drops his album???lol......lmao
ReplyDeletePlease people Shuld hold chocolate city........they are reacting to good music"M,D and S!!!linda pls hold them
ReplyDeleteMost recording companies take advantage of new artist who r desperate for a big break but when it artist hits and realizes, to pull out becomes difficult cos u have to stick to d contract until it expires.
ReplyDeleteI wish them an amicable settlement. This guy is a good artist sha.
Zuriel.
Chocolate City, please temper justice with mercy. This guy has just released one of the best albums this year. Let him make some money off it.
ReplyDeletebrymo forget say audu makori na lawyer him self!!!folo d rulez brymo contract na contract!!¤
ReplyDeleteLet twitter save Brymo!
ReplyDeleteAll the way from kaduna State. Another slavery....
ReplyDeleteAudu should just take things easy, forming another diddy. This is naija not America oo. I dont blame him sha, I blame brymo. How can you sign that long fucking contract. Anyway lets see how it goes..
ReplyDeleteRespect to Olamide, Davido, Iyanya etc. Sharp guys... Wait ooo, 2016 ke.2013 never end oo.
ReplyDeleteChocolate City should sue him, so tbat he can pay back their "investment" , and let the guy move on. I dont even know what they invested sef. The guy no get masion, no get bentley. I pity Pryse and Nosa sha.
ReplyDeleteBrymo God is by ur side,u r blessed by God n nt man,no man cn tak away ur blessing no mata hw much dey try,God ll help u on court fear nt,dis is jst a stepping stone 4 u n also learn somtin frm dis dat som humans r devil dey ll giv u cup n tak away ur hand cos dey wan dey command u all along, buh God pass dem
ReplyDeleteThe only way for Brymo to opt out of this contract with chocolate city is to buy out the contract. If not, he will not win the case even if he decides to go to a law court. His singnature on that contract letter is a documentary evidence to be used against him by chococity. My advise is for him to find a way to resolve the issue amicably with his employer.
ReplyDeleteNo sentiments G! A contract is a contract!! Deal with it! This is business, no emotions!!
ReplyDeletesorry dear,i really love ur music esp ARA ,bt u ve to calm down so to avoid trouble wit ur co workers, very soon d contract will expire nd u can ve ur way
ReplyDeleteU people should take a sit please... Sending transcript from OOU to Warwick costing 35k... Wetin Happen nah? NA the whole school una wan deliver ni? Abegi... "sylvian@etx-ng.com said...

Dis is a lesson 2 all artists n intending artists, do not sign contracts u do not fully understand, if u don't understand d contract don't b shy 2 Say so n seek 4 clarification frm dose who do n if u do understand, then b mature n disciplined enuf 2 stick it out tru d duration of ur contract. Wats happening 2 Brymo nw is exactly wat 50 cent did 2 Young Buck of G.Unit fame n 2day d young man is wasted n wallowing in debt n penury. It will b vry sad 4 all d talent dt Brymo is 2 b frozen until 2016 wen his contract expires n he becomes a free agent to live his life again, am saddened by dis eventuality cos dis ordinarily is an avoidable pitfall!
ReplyDeleteIt too much for dis poor dude na 2016?
ReplyDeletelin lin u ve said it all.. D guy is way 2 talented + am loving his new album..# dey sabi good music jorr..#
ReplyDelete"WETIN LAWYER DEY DO SEF?" Well now you know...
ReplyDeleteDis one na die oooo... Please check out www.popularitybar.com for more gists
ReplyDeleteGuys industry don change brymo has a valid contract with CC the contract stipulates ways to terminate. U just don't wake up one morning after dem don spend millions upon ur head and say ur not doing again. Dem call meeting make una settle u no go. Dem go arbitration u no come ....wetin u want make dem do na? Guys don't lets get sentimental ...a contract is a contract....it's best for the industry, the world wud take us more seriously
ReplyDeleteWDF why ! Well I can't sign dat kinda contract ooooo 2016 is too long naa
ReplyDeleteEven wiz kid whey shakara EME no Waka blindly who brymo come tink say e be.....I begi lif am...u better go and negotiate yourself out of the contract instead of behaving like a ..........this is the real world boy
ReplyDeleteEven wiz kid whey shakara EME no Waka blindly who brymo come tink say e be.....I begi lif am...u better go and negotiate yourself out of the contract instead of behaving like a ..........this is the real world boy
ReplyDeletebrymo is a big fool
ReplyDeleteU guys should stop judging, v u tot abt dis whole tin? Jessy left nw brymo left. Haba dere is somtin dey r doin in d choccity n I knw its nt a good tin. Mi n ice prince r progressing while d rest r like houseboiz dis is meant to be a group tin n dey r all meant to progress 2geda in d little way dey can bt no its just on one side. Donjazzy is carryin his group along none of dem in deir group is lackin n dulllin dey r all movin ahead unlike choccity. Mehn we should nt judge, brymo wears d shoes n knws were it hurts only God knws d truth. Mi n his group should fear God n leave brymo alone n nt show wickedness or y try mk his life misserable do u think dere is life 4 d wicked? Pls let dis whole shit pass n u guys should move on .
ReplyDeleteAudu na Lagos u dey try this thing???the boy na Lagos boy,if him mama n papa swear for u!
ReplyDeletePeople are we forgetting that this boy gave chocolate city their hit Oleku
ReplyDeleteThis is so fucking wrong!been waiting for his new album
ReplyDeleteOkay okay okay!now tell me in 5years will I listen to MI or ice prince?
ReplyDeleteAudu stop being a foolish lawyer !young star Shuld run from Audu n the whole chocolate city
ReplyDeleteNow brymo u messed up.......did u not notice that this guys r aboki...... Ur the only diff one......dey were stupid to show it......
ReplyDeleteSee moves,They should say they want him back
ReplyDeletenoooooo choc city pls dnt dp this to brymoooooo....
ReplyDeleteI don't think the matter is as bad for Brymo as it seems. There's a case in court and for good measure Chocolate City has also been granted and injunction that prevents Brymo from working as an artiste until the case is settled. That is obviously one-sided and Brymo can also counter-sue because he has basic rights! I hope he does that. Also, he needs to check if that injunction is for Brymo and then change his name. Even somethings as simple as 'The Artist Formerly Known As Brymo' will work. This can be resolved.
ReplyDeleteI am on Brymo's side here because this is just plain vindictiveness. You could make him pay you with every cent he has after he has lost the court case but instead Chocolate City believing they are the god that gave life to Brymo, wants to quench that life completely. If this guy commits suicide now how will the story sound?
Chocolate City must remember that fans, clients, and hopefully their own signees are watching as well. They are damaging their own reputation as much as they think they are hurting Brymo. Well, good luck with that.
I wonder how illiterates know how to post comments online. I think all these people supporting Brymo are as dumb and unrefined as he is
ReplyDeleteBrymoooooooooooooo if our guys 4 hood catch this man!lets watch his next move.
ReplyDeleteIF ANY OF THE ARTIST IN CHOCOLATE CITY CAN READ THIS, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE OOOOO...REAL TALK AUDU IS THE DEVIL
ReplyDeleteSo Chocolate City decides to pull this move days to Ice Princes sophmore album...lol not very smart guys
ReplyDeleteIs it true that Audu Maikori is impotent? Linda investigate
ReplyDeleteIsnt MI Abaga the Vice President of Music in CHoc City? What is his take in all of this?
ReplyDeleteIf okoko catch this guy.....SMH.we love brymo
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what they did to JEREMIAH GYANG and literally destroyed his career
ReplyDeleteBrymo should get a good lawyer, chocolate city might loose this one. In this our lagos....kosoro
ReplyDeleteThis serves as lesson to all upcoming artistes..
ReplyDeleteI like Brymo. That being said, when you sign a contract you need to keep to it or go into arbitration.
ReplyDeleteGood luck though
That's why its good to be smart, no one should compare him with Jesse Jagz, Jagz waited until the contract expired, to opt out, and Brymo followed suit? After signing the contract? Things do not happen that way, if he had issues with Chocolate city he would have settled this quietly or waited till the expiration of his contract to do so.., Nigeria is changing and we can not always be barbaric all the times.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you Brymo, but I would advise you take this time to complete ur pending education at least you will gain a degree, and not lose out completely.
That's my own 2 kobo.
I think the issue here is simple, you have a contract, you are not cool with some part of it or have issues with your label, instead of having a sit down and trashing out issues, you take to social media and believe that public opinion will help you walk away from the contract you signed and enjoyed its benefits. This is totally unacceptable.
ReplyDeleteI really like Brymo and the kind of music he does, but if I will be objective, I agree that it will be bad if any artiste can just up and walk away from a contract when he or she so desires. What then happens to a businessman who has invested money in your dream?
Music business is serious business as we are seeing the world over, the earlier artistes understand this the better. AUDU is not a father Christmas and would definitely want a return on his investment.
Brymo started the hardball game, he shouldn't cry foul now.
Faze and Ruggedman started this issue of jumping contract, where are they today?,career wise they are just there in Limbo!.Law of Karma work Our Artiste today are too greedy!,they don't want to share, its always me my myself and I forgetting the Record Label spend Millions to get their career to the point they get notice. The only way Nigerian Artiste think they can stay with a Label is when their career slow or did not pick up. Congrat to Choc. Nigerian Artiste should learn to honour their contract - Tony x. X
ReplyDeleteHmmmm hakym d dream sef dey
ReplyDeleteOut of hunger and frustration nigerian footballers and musicians signs themselves in to slave contract cos of peanut*imagine 2016*God knows from since when!,,however if chocolate city think they can delay/alter the destiny of man they should continue and see that its only God that can can truely jugde.
ReplyDeletesomething dey go downtown...brymo don suffer..yoruba guys wan show wiseness..shey hm tink say audu is banky,.he shuld just swallow his pride and make peace...shikena
ReplyDeleteIn as much as I love brymo s talent, the truth must be said at all time, and rule of law must be obeyed, you have an offer and acceptance in place binding two entity together to make it a contract, you must obey the law afterall u didn't sign under duress..
ReplyDeleteHeheheehe chai !! Me don piss , u c ! Everybody 4 9ja wan gt e own record label. Even ones wey neva gt lvl , 2ndly or dis yeye labels wey d fin person dem go chop put e head 4 grave , God is watching u
ReplyDeleteBrymo should just change his name to "the artist formally known as brymo"
ReplyDeleteThat's why God will punish them!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree wit u, i don't blem brymo,he shld settle wit them amicablely.
ReplyDeleteArtists get bad record deals all the time and demand a restructuring when they rise in popularity. TLC had sold 10 million albums and were earning only $50K per group member a year from those proceeds. They filed bankruptcy, sued their record company, won a financial settlement and release from their management. Contracts have been broken and renegotiated when they're too strongly structured against successful artists.
ReplyDeletehaha! this is why it is good to read any contract. cuz the stronger party will always try funny stuff.
ReplyDeletecourts are very reluctant to grant injunctions. whatever judge gave this order must have seen that choc city had a good and or strong case thus necessitating the grant. a deal is a deal, you cant just opt out cuz you can't reach an understanding any longer. before you sign anything get a lawyer to read it, that's his job.
ReplyDelete
