Pics: Pasuma replaces stolen Range Rover with another Range Rover

Four months after losing his metalic coloured 2009 Range Rover SUV (pictured left) Fuji finest Wasiu Alabi Pasuma has replaced it with a 2010 Navy Blue Range Rover (pictured right).

Pasuma was attacked on Monday May 27th by armed robbers who made away with his SUV. Despite receiving help from the Nigerian police force and the OPC, the car was never recovered.

  24. I am sure he has a Comprehensive Insurance on the car and I'm sure he bought the new one from the claim money his Insurer gave him.

The reason why it took over four months to get this is that theft claim of vehicle in Insurance is always settled after three months. This is because a final police report amongst other docs will be required to settle the claim and it's issued after 3 months (legally).

  53. Anonymous 5:28, it is not the fault of the Insurers that a theft loss (Motor Insurance) is settled after 3 months but it's an issue of law.

In a claim like this, the Insurer will demand for the following docs before they can issue a claim cheque. Preliminary Police Report (which is always given immediately the car owner lodge complain to d police), purchase receipt, executed claim form, original spate keys, original certificate and final police report etc which police will not issue until after 3 months). So, you will agree with me that it's not the Insurer's fault.

As a claim officer, I will not process a claim that has not been fully substantiated.

I spoke with Pasuma in 2010 about his Insurance, and that was when he told me that all his Insurance (private and biz assets) are managed by Mutual Benefit Assurance Plc.

With the timing and vis-a-vis how theft claim is being settled. I'm sure he got the claim money from his Insurer.

    Congrats Pasuma.

  55. Please people shouldn't misunderstand me for analysing how Insurance works, especially in relation to Alh Wasiu Alabi's new acquired jeep.

Without bad intend, all I did was to look at the timing of the new vehicle and my Insurance experience couple with a privileged I had talking to him in the past about his Insurance and came to the conclusion that the new jeep is probably from the claim settlement of the stolen one. I may still be wrong anyway.

I'm sure Pasuma is Insurance conscious and we should give it to him. A lot of celebs like Pasuma and all these our money-bags don't believe in Insurance.

Therefore, even if it's from Insurance claim, he deserves it because he paid the premium and it's his right. So, people shouldn't say he didn't buy it with his money. It took an intelligent man like 'Oga Nla' to plan for the raining day as he did. Kudos to him, and other celebs should learn from Pasuma.

Thank you WAP 1, thank you Linda.
