"I would have still questioned their reasons but it would not have been as inappropriate. They made a real scene. They were saying me breastfeeding was indecent exposure. But I was covered more than most of the other swimmers. One staff member also said he would stop a man urinating in the pool and that is why they did not want me breastfeeding in the water. I should be allowed to breastfeed where I want. I felt humiliated and it was very distressing. I even asked about feeding at the side of the pool but they said that was not allowed and said I should go to the changing rooms or toilet. This was the worst possible customer service I have ever come across.'
News, Events, Entertainment, Lifestyle, Fashion, Beauty, Inspiration and yes... Gossip! *Wink*
It aint rite.
ReplyDeletehonesty dats inappropriate. She should look for somewhere to breast feed.
ReplyDeleteNo case
ReplyDeleteI do think it's not very appropriate. I personally will not breastfeed in an open place, how much more a swimming pool filled with chlorine, human waste(urine) and unclean bodies around me.
ReplyDeleteA nice clean corner with a shawl is just fine.
Fikky
Why on earth wld she wnt to breastfeed in d water??? Crazy
ReplyDeleteIndecent exposure is relative. Have you seen Nollywood Mistakes.
ReplyDeleteShe is seekin 4 attention. Even a baby knws its unhygienic, if her breastmilk spills into into d pool. #nxt plz. Dr P says so
ReplyDeleteOk this is confusing...like was she inside the pool completely with the baby?if so a 4month old inside a pool(how stressful)?if not,why not?but generally I do not support this public breast feeding of a thing, breast pumps are like everywhere now,i won't even breast feed my child in my own home in front of visitors no way...
ReplyDeleteBut then again, the customer is always right,a more polite manner of approach would have saved both parties involved some stress...and I personally think she has no case...hello this is nigeria duuuuuhhhhhhh!
@MzEllatyra
Linda when u av a child u will understand.
ReplyDeleteUr being idiotic!!! Meaning wot na???? Y make d issue P???
DeleteUndastd wat? U r so unreasonable! U r not thinking of d safety of the 4mnths old baby. Wat if some dives into the pool & splashes water on d child & possibly she mistakenly slips & drops d baby. Who gets sued? For God's sake wat ll it cost d lady to leave d pool to feed her child. Some ppl r so ridiculously stupid. Gbam. Dcube
DeleteI wonder why people often try to make a fuzz out of nothing.
ReplyDeleteNot only is it inappropriate but highly unhygienic for a nursing mother to breastfeed her suckling baby in a PUBLIC POOL.
For petes sakes, its a pool that has different kinds of people coming in and out of it.
The only case she might have here is if the staffs verbally or physically abused her, besides that,I suggest she should go learn some hygiene.
Only God knows what that 4month old could have contacted from a public pool.
Thank u o jare! Trying 2 make a mountain out of a molehill.....like dey said dey made provision 4 nursing modas. Everytin need not b gender issues. She should even b sued 4 negligence sef....wan drown pikin. Dirty woman!.....
DeletePs....I am a lawyer and a female! She has no solid case!
Dressing room or toilet is anoda problem doe.....didn't get dat part. She might have a case....but she still needs 2 get off d pool eida way! Maybe sitting on d side of d pool will do!
DeleteLinda am so disappointed I use to think u where a role model to d youths viewing ur blog everyday!!! Well I don't blame u cos u re not married so u won't undastand... Pp like u discourage women rm exclusive brestfeeding all becos of fashion or wat av u! So u mean to tell me now that d changing room or toilet is more hygenic than an open eniviroment..... Rubbish
ReplyDeleteFor Pete's sake, how in the world is Linda discouraging women from exclusive breast-feeding? Guess u misunderstood the info. And btw, why would a sensible mother breastfeed her child beside a pool? Dat shows that she's got a poor sense of hygiene because with the chlorine and other chemicals that are poured into the pool, she wouldn't even bring her baby near dat pool not to talk of breast-feeding her child there.
DeleteFor Pete's sake how is Linda discouraging women from exclusive breast-feeding? I guess u misunderstood the info. And btw, why would a sensible mother breast-feed her child beside the pool? That shows she's got a poor sense of hygiene cos with the chlorine and other chemicals that are being poured into the pool, she should knw that it's unhealthy to bring her baby close to the pool not to talk of breast-feeding her child there.
DeleteSerious P. U better calm down.
DeleteTo each their own. If u wanna breastfeed ur child at Oshodi under-bridge. Go ahead.
Let's do things right pls, that's inappropriate! Simple!
ReplyDeleteLemme just xplain to u guys wat dis rily is. D staff didn't care bout her baby and how unhygienic it is. They cared more for dier water and d other swimmers. U'd realise dat from d statement dey made relating d matter to dat of a guy attempting to pee in d water. Dat aside, y wud she wanna breastfeed her child inside water. D toilet isn't a better option either. As for d changing room, depends on how relatively clean it is. Somewhere by d side of d pool wud have been jst fine since she doesn't care if d world sees her boobs. But personally, I wud have preferred she goes to her car to breastfeed. If she doesn't have a car, den she shld have made prior plans on how to feed her baby. Maybe like getting her milk in a bottle or Somfin like dat. As for d staff, I am almost soo sure dat dey must have rily embarrassed her. Dese days, customer services render very poor services. Conclusion, dey are all at fault.
DeleteI don't think a nursing mother attracts attention that much. She should breastfeed wherever she deems fit as far as she's doin it modestly. What if d baby wants it badly? But since d management have their principles, she shd ve just adhered to it.
ReplyDeleteWherever she deems fit? I guess u would also advise her to breast-feed her child in a public toilet cos 'she shud breastfeed her child wherever she deems fit'....Are u at all considering health risks associated with what she did?
DeleteWherever she deems fit? I guess u would also advise her to breast-feed her child in a public toilet cos 'she shud breastfeed her child wherever she deems fit'....Are u at all considering health risks associated with what she did?
Deletei think its rily dum of her 2 sue, wen shes clearly wrong.
ReplyDeleteShe is very crazy how can she breastfeed in a swimming pool
ReplyDeleteMe I support the staff oo... Saying dat she was more decently dressed dan d odas is jus rubbish, swimming pool is meant 4 swimmers on deir bikinis or trunks. so far dey were in bikinis or trunks d question of decency is unnecessary. I wonder why she brought her infant 2 feed in a swimming pool and now she's lamenting. *scoffs*
ReplyDeleteWhat hygienic?people does things that is worse than that inside pool and that part of reason why i hate general pool i dont feel comfortable using it..
ReplyDeleteEmpty barrels go always make loud noise. People 'does' things. Mushin born and bred forming for public pool. *looooonghiisssss
DeleteOutside of the water is fine with a covering cloth out of respect for others but that she should go to a toilet. Linda u to chop for toilet?
ReplyDeleteits wrong to breastfeed in the pool but nothing is wrong to breastfeed outside d pool.
ReplyDeleteDem for leave her make d pikin sick! na dat tym she go dey run up & down!
ReplyDeletethere is absolutely nothing wrong in breastfeeding in public, or sitting by the public pool. But for me, sitting inside the pool is unsafe. i mean wash she standing, or sitting, what if she slipped. Also other swimmers wont be comfortable because the would have to constantly keep watch so the dont hit her or anything of the sort. So i really dont know who to say is wrong. BUt given the reasons the peole offered im inclined to say they are wrong and the woman kinda sorta has a case.
ReplyDeleteHow u go breast feed for inside public swimming pool?? Not proper joor
ReplyDeleteI really do not blame this woman, I guess she was left with no alternative. For instance when i had my daughter, I did exclusive breastfeeding. There was a day we went shopping in a mall, and my daughter was seriously crying. I couldn't get to the parking lot in order to feed her in the car, but I was left with no option. I had her fed in an open place inside the mall. The white guys passing by were looking at me like I was commiting a serious offence. You wouldn't blame me because the rate at wish my baby was crying couldn't be compare to anything. I guezz the woman has the right to feed her baby at the pool.
ReplyDeleteDirty woman. Breastfeeding in a swimming pool? How disgusting!
ReplyDeleteAm rily confused buh how do u breastfeed in a pool...can't even picture it
ReplyDeleteIs she really 22 tho? *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI think its rather absurd and quite unhealthy for the baby. Anyway sha just my thought
ReplyDeleteThats absurd i dont think there is any thing wrong with breast feeding by the side of the pool... how is that an indecent exposure. if they talk about the safety of the child thats understandable and not about decency.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the approach was wrong but Women: Please breastfeeding should be done in private. Most women throw shame to the pit after childbirth and think breastfeeding can be done even while confessing to a priest!! #rollingmyeyes. Pls it is WRONG! Have some respect for your body
ReplyDeleteOh pleeease! There's absolutely nothing wrong with breastfeeding in public. The WHO recommends dat breastfeeding shld be done ON DEMAND & preferably directly from the breast, EXCLUSIVELY for d first 6mths.
DeleteHowever, I don't support breastfeeding INSIDE a public pool.
Dr R
Please madam Stephanie have you thought about other customer's feelings, the pool wasnt made for only you my dear. please be considerate it wasnt nice and true to their words it wasnt healthy.
ReplyDeletewhich country and which city council did this happen Linda?
ReplyDeleteI don't think she has a case because if she was breast-feeding "in the swimming pool" that could possibly be a breach of public health and safety but if she was breast-feeding 'by the pool' then she has done nothing wrong!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy woulf u breastfeed in a public swimminh pool...its just disgusting n disgracrful...nd defo unhygienic for d baby anyway
ReplyDeleteLinda I agree with. Its inappropriate
ReplyDeleteNope. Lindodo u no day agree post person comment oooo. Na wa oooo
ReplyDeleteof course its indecent .. 22 sha no 1nda u still get pikin sense
ReplyDelete#hate ol u want duhhhh
of course its indecent .. 22 sha no 1nda u still get pikin sense
ReplyDelete#hate ol u want duhhhh
Fat faced woman! Will u please close ur breast? U re even proud coming out to file against d staff...goan take several seats at starmford bridge joor.
ReplyDeleteSee face like spoilt akamu.
MTCHEW!!! A VERY STUPID QUESTION! IF U LIK DNT FEED UR CHILD! DO IT IN A RESPECTABLE MANNER AT A CORNER!
ReplyDeleteIts sure not proper for her to breast feed her child in or by d pool but she has a right to breast feed her baby anywhere so long it does not endanger d health of mother and child. But most inappropriate is to suggest a toilet as a place to breast feed her baby. equally i think their approach was not polite. if it were, she wouldn't have felt bad. Customers' service counts. u must be polite in talking and settling issues with ur customers even if they are at fault. so she is not wrong to take it as an abuse. Even the reason given to have not allowed her is funny. ladies expose their bodies everywhere for d wrong reasons and nobody says much, some even have sex and yet such ladies are looked up to by some as stars. so it doesn't make sense. stopping her on health grounds would have made more sense.
ReplyDeleteShe shouldn't be feeding her baby in the pool... It isn't hygienic for the baby... With all that chlorine in the water...in my opinion she shouldn't fight the center...she'd probably lose
ReplyDeleteExactly Linda i support the management too, 100%. Its a public pool for Christ sakes you can't be spilling milk all over the water everyone is swimming in, We don't wanna be taking in your DNA. She should go and get her own pool if she wants to breastfeed her baby in a pool. What rubbish??
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with linda. I'm feminist so this isn't a sexist comment. No lady, u cannot breastfeed wherever you want, it's not ur home and u don't own d world. A public swimming pool? Have some respect for other individuals
ReplyDeleteNonsense I dnt see wat is wrong wit dat provided dat she covered her self well,u can't tell a mother 2 go to toilet 4 breast feeding,is only ppl dat doesn't ve a child will make dat stupid comment
ReplyDeleteOk; breastfeesing in the pool is to me rubbish. Why can't u come out. Then the ish of not breastfeeding by the side of the pool, I don't know what to say about dat. I guess some if not all pools have spaces for individuals where there is a table and chairs which give u your own space. But I guess their reason is; most women don't know how to breastfeed in public. They just bring out their breast not minding if the next person is not comfortable with it #thatsmytake#
ReplyDeleteYes datz true
ReplyDeleteWrong
ReplyDeleteI totally I agree with d staff y didn't she come out d pool to breast feed she don't even a case. Wonder how she managed to feed d baby in d poop was standing ot doing breast strokes (:s)
ReplyDeleteUR NOT SERIOUS O, IF THE BABY IS HUNGRY AT THE TIME AND SHE'S COVERED UP, THEN WHY NOT?! IF PEOPLE CAN GO ABOUT SMOKING AND CHOKING PEOPLE WITH THEIR CIGARS AT THE SWIMMING POOL, THEN WHAT ARE WE ARGUING ABOUT?
ReplyDeleteLINDA I AGREE WITH U JOR. how wud u breast feed ur child in a pool. is it even hygienic for the child. i mean it means she was in the pool which means she would have had chlorine on her body. some mothers sha. nawa
ReplyDeleteI support d staff. D woman has no case. Any ways, ....first to comment
ReplyDeleteDunno but I don't feel comfortable when I see a woman breastfeeding her baby,I always feel like puking.
ReplyDelete~BONARIO~says so via NOKIA3310
Linda, wait until you have children, you may not feel the same way again
ReplyDeleteWhat a crap! Linda do you think it is wise to visit the swimming pool with a nursing child? What makes it wrong to breastfeed a child in a public place? Afteral the child has a stake in the public swimming pool? JASFULANI
ReplyDeleteI support d staff. D woman has no case because it isn't her prerogative to be breastfeeding in public
ReplyDeleteNothing bad in dat
ReplyDeleteHow now?
ReplyDeleteIs the breastmilk faeces that they are saying she should go to the rest room?
They are silly due to the fact they are suffering from 'no intake of breastmilk in their childhood.
Linda, what's dat? Support d management 4 what? I will not support her to breastfeed her baby in d pool ie inside d water, but she is free to breastfeed her baby by d pool side or anywhere around. How she go into d toilet to breastfeed? Dats not right, dats an insult on her person, she has a case abeg. And evn if d management feels its inappropriate 2 breastfeed inside or by d pool, she should be spoken to politely n taken somewhere fit enough to do that. I'm sure that ds is a racist case as usual.
ReplyDeleteShe should be allowed to breast feed her baby anywhere she deems fit, even if its 'into' the water. Unless d are sayin breast milk is worse than dischar.... (piss and d oda one) dat d dnt see inside d water #Godsavesusinpool
ReplyDeletey should she b breastfeeding her baby in d pool. Does she want 2 expose d babe 2 Candida albican, Strep nd Staph spps. Abeg o
ReplyDeletewhat we think will be different. we r Nigerians, they r not. we breastfeed publicly, for them, there's always been this raging debate about breastfeeding in public. I think it should be done in a corner and not necessarily in full view of everyone
ReplyDeleteAbel she should park well joorrrrr. She does not have a case. She's only seeking notice on her Ohio pikin. Isn't she ashamed breast feeding at the pool side in the first place. She for carry her breast come for Peckham rye market do the public show....
ReplyDeleteWhere was she now? Nigeria ?
ReplyDeleteBy now, you should know that people crave attention because I'm pretty sure this woman knows that what she's doing is not just right. Nothing wrong with breastfeeding but in the pool? COME ON!!! You never can tell if she's carrying pathogens in her milk. It could seep into the water and may cause other swimmers some harm and so on. Her common sense should tell her but oh well! Anything for 15 minutes of fame.
ReplyDeleteIf is beside the pool, I don't think there is any thing wrong in her carrying out her Role as a mother
ReplyDeleteI support d staff too o. Some ppl are put off by d thought of breastmilk n anythng lactation let alone d sight.
ReplyDeleteSorry but that's disgusting! Why would you breastfeed in a public swimming pool where people have peed and farted in. People with dirty stinky bodies swim there. Even though it was the infant section; still it's unhygienic and I wouldn't want someone's breast milk dripping into a pool where my baby is. She could've have exited the pool and sat on a bench. Seriously, this woman is retarded. She probably planned this whole thing so she can get some money and publicity. Stupid woman!
ReplyDeleteExcuse me pls! What would it cost you to step out of the pool and breastfeed away from other people's gazes? Worthless yell for attention this is!
ReplyDeleteThats feeding your child chlorine woman..they are very right.
ReplyDeleteso simply bcus a swimming pool is a public place mothers shuld stop breastfeeding isn't it? Even wen d baby is hungry haba dat doesnt mk sensce if ur own did dat to u am sure u wuldnt b alive 2day bcus u must ve die of hunga. Rubbish
ReplyDeleteWat I think?......she shud av spent d nyt in jail for indecent exposure....bcos say u don gv birth na y u qo d show d whole world ur big nipples...#YUCK!!!
ReplyDeleteLinda, when u born you go understand until then.... WHO supports breast feeding until a child is 2 years old abi? Was there a sign saying no breast feeding by the pool side? Was she indecently exposed while breast feeding the baby? And would the public toilet be a better alternative when feeding a child? There's no shame in breast feeding a baby. And when your child decides he/she wants to be fed now; better do it now. I support her courage and stand in putting the welfare of her child first. Sweet Mother truly!
ReplyDeleteDias somtin av noticd abt dis blog virtually all d readers r hypocrites. Abeggggi u no holy pass.nice comnt anonymous 5.54pm
DeleteYes, she should at least excuse herself to a place more hıdden. Why should a woman be swımmıng ın a publıc?
ReplyDeleteWho does that pls... How would u breastfeed a child in a pool. Nija!
ReplyDeleteit is not,,buh a customer is still a customer and as such shuld be treated wif respect. They culd hv atleast taken ha sumwher more private n warned her. Am sure its the embarrasment dat got d beta part of d woman.
ReplyDeleteAnd what makes it indecent? Was she swimming and feeding same time??
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but personally she has no case. I wouldn't want mums breastfeeding in pools as I swam.
ReplyDeleteHow can she breast feed her baby in d pool or by d side of d pool what if d baby falls insyd d pool, aiint ppl washing her........ (Asyd frm hygiene) its wrong mayb d managemnt didn't tell her in a polite manner
ReplyDeleteIts nt proper na hw can she b breast-feeding her child inside d pool, unhygenic and dt child can gt infested chiaaa ds world ooooo.
ReplyDeleteSome people just like looking for trouble. Why would she want to expose her breast in the water, anyway? Only a mermaid would want to breastfeed inside the pool. How would she do it gan? stand up and slant the baby's head? mtchew. If she had been outside, covered up properly with a feeding blanket, she would not have been thrown out, I'm sure. The answer they gave her is not good. It's not for the secretion so much as the exposure.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a trouble maker... see her face. I think they did her baby a big favour, as it might actually be unhygienic given the chemicals and what we all know people do in pools. Why breastfeed IN the pool? SMH
ReplyDeleteIts not proper..Am wit u linda.................THE DON
ReplyDeleteIt Ȋ̝̊̅§ very wrong to breast feed U̶̲̥̅̊я baby at swimming pool because it nt hygynic.anyway sorry for the embarassment it might cause u
ReplyDeleteShe's an idiot.
ReplyDeleteThat's simply indecent exposure...she should've gone to her car to brestfeed her baby, or breastfeed him before taking him to the pool...she'll loose the case...not saying the staff of that place are totally right, cos they made a scene according to her, but I think they did their job well in caring for the welfare of the other visitors there...Woman, jus go ya house jejeli
ReplyDeleteAbeggggg. Dats nt a wrong tin to do na
ReplyDeleteSo a toilet or dressing room is better? That's way more unhygienic
ReplyDeleteWell if d baby is hungry stud she starve him boos it's swimming pool
ReplyDeleteHaba! Dat ideology of breasfeeding a child in a swimming pool is very wrong, not jst dat also very dangerous. De could slip of ur hand u knw? Dats bad woman! But it is also very inappropriate for de management 2 direct her 2 de changing room or toilet 2 breasfeed her baby. Dey would hve allowed her do it somewhere else. kpele joor!
ReplyDelete1st of all, you av to b a mother b4 u unds dz stuff. Ow can u feed ur baby in d restroom/toilet? Dts rily dumb dsgustn...2ndly, dt means u'll let ur baby cry instead of breastfeeding him/her.... old women who understand the value of having a child would beat u up, esp women still searching 4 d fruit of the womb. Well, you can't understand still. Nonsense!
ReplyDeleteAbout ur 2ndly madam, if she's a responsible mother she would be willing to give up the pool to feed her 4mths old baby. Its wrung to and drs no justification for doing such.Rubbish!
DeleteShe should have looked for an appropriate place to breast feed her baby
ReplyDeleteBreastfeeding should be allowed everywhere though it all depends if d woman is comfortable with it.
ReplyDeleteits not safe for the child.
ReplyDeleteAmerican women and drama, smh. Even an idiot knows it is dangerous to even be in a public pool, not to talk of exposing breast you are going to put in your baby's mouth in that public water. We here in Africa have been breast feeding our children for ages, but American women are making a mountain out of the whole issue. To think the have, well designed breast covers(which i used and still have) that you can use to cover up when you are breastfeeding your child in public. Yet the will not use it because the like their five minutes of fame. Anything to be on the news, smh.
ReplyDeleteI support them too!
ReplyDeleteYou shouldn't breast feed in public period. It's not nice! You can't believe how Nigeria ladies flaunt boobies in public in the name of breast feeding. It's not a pretty sight, it's uncomfortable and indecent. Cover up abeg and if you must feed use a shawl or something.
ReplyDeleteWhat the fuck? Indicent? And the ladies swimming are half naked? That's why more children loose the opportunity of being breast fed cos the public make it look dirty. Breast feeding is not dirty is a beatiful thing. How dare they liken breast milk to urine. I'm just so annoyed. Linda u fuck up.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all this lady looks like she 34 or 35,maybe. I see no reason why she shouldn't breastfeed her baby in public if the baby is hungry(babies sabi embarrass person). Once she is out of the pool, she should get a clean water and wipe her breast of that pool water cos some ppl urinate or even release sperm there and some ladies too who could be menstruating too which is not hygenic.
ReplyDeleteThis girl thaz claiming a woman is 9izly crazy and stupid ........Infact she would av open the interior design inside pool.
ReplyDeleteThis Human right issues av spoiled many fins, breast feeding in a pool...........Ogaooooooo
y should u breast feed in a swimming pool, madam it is unhygienic.
ReplyDeleteReal stupid woman..I feel like giving her a healthy slap.C'mon..In a pool?
ReplyDeleteAnd she had d stupid guts 2 report d case as abuse, this is what happens when a person does not have REAL problems and she wonders y life is going so well.Dirty woman.Next move will be to play d Race card, saying its cos she is black.
She for go Balogun public toilet na
Dat z jus disgustin. U shudnt breastfeed in any public place, we dnt want 2 see ur boobs let alone in a pool.
ReplyDeleteThat lady is crazy walking...bet d rule about nt eating while in the pool, its exceptional for babies...mtchew ..sme peeps hate correction..
ReplyDeleteBut it is the right place to kiss and caress? Lol..Na them sabi...
ReplyDeleteIf you can eat food in the pool, you should be allowed to breastfeed in the pool...although I really wonder about the logistics of it. How comfortable is it? Was she standing, sitting on a float, or sitting in the shallow end? It's just kinda odd. She should definitely be allowed to breastfeed at the side of the pool though.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like it happened in England....
Hw wud u breast feed insyd d pool, wot if som1 pushes u n ur child into d pool.....na wa o
ReplyDeleteToh. Dis one am sure na for yankee. For nija anytin goes.*uninterestedface*
ReplyDeleteIs she mad,it quiet inappropriate and unhygenic for her to do dt,guys urinate a lot in d pool.
ReplyDeleteShe is very foolish, why would she breastfeed her baby in the pool? Must she swim? Why not stay @ home or look for somewhere else to catch fun. Busy body.
ReplyDeleteewwwww this is just irritating does she know many pple spit and urinate in public swimming pools??? kai don't give dat poor child unnecessary disease joor
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Linda. Not because of the exposure but it's simply unhygeinic for the child. Public swimming pools have all kinds of filth inside it from people's bodies (you don't know where they've been or what they've been doing) not to mention the fact that most people pee in pools. I can't believe that she's actually arguing to the contrary. But I don't see a problem with breastfeeding out of the pool while sitting on a recliner or something so long as you're breast is covered.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite indecent. She should have stepped out of the pool to breastfeed her baby.
ReplyDeleteIs she from Togo? Ode!!! Where's her morals? I guess she just wanna show up on Linda's blog. Btw cute baby tho
ReplyDeleteWas she breastfeeding inside d pool or she was sitting down outside d pool breast feeding her child? And does she have to enter toilet to feed her child?
ReplyDeleteVery interesting!! Indecent exposure where most pple are scantily clad. Also amusing to compare breastmilk to urine.
ReplyDeleteshe doesnt have a case. she should be mentally retarted not to know dat its harmfull to the baby. linda we need real news
ReplyDeleteU are free to breastfeed ur child anywhere at anytime. The management of that center should be sue for stoping her frm feedind her baby.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all how can this one be 22 years old?!
ReplyDeleteShe's not 22. Why a swimming pool? Is she an attention seeker? Outside the pool, yes. What if the baby falls into the water? Nonsense.
ReplyDeleteLinda u don fuck up,a public swimming pool is not an appropriate place to breastfeed a child but d toilet is abii??how wud she be breastfeeding her baby in d toilet or changing room naw..I still prefer the swimming pool sides...
ReplyDeleteOh pls lady, you just want attention. You know you are suppose to cover up or use the ladies lounge to breastfeed in the U.S
ReplyDeletethe US constitution/federal law guarantees you the right to breastfeed your baby wherever you want. Afterall gay people are allowed to kiss and caress in public. In the pool is dangerous but in a sitting area is just fine
DeleteIn my own opinion, its actually unhygenic to breastfeed right after swimming in a public pool. That's what I think
ReplyDeleteFluxxy...
Me think nothing is really wrong with that. I mean, not like the breat milk is dripping inside d pool. Moreover d toilet is d worst place to breast feed but d changing room is manageable thou.
ReplyDeleteveri baddddddd!
ReplyDeleteUm..it may truly not b appropriate buh dier manner of approach wz bad n customer is alwys rite...
ReplyDeleteIf its a private pool no problem buh a public pool ma dear its way too unhygienic nd unhealthy for d baby
ReplyDeleteI don't understand did she actually breast feed in side the pool. If she Did,it is unhygienic for her baby, imagin getting all that yucky public pool water in the baby's mouth. On the other hand , breast feeding by the side of the pool is okay. It's normal,
ReplyDeleteWhat type of mom breast feeds her baby inside a swimming pool? The staff were very lenient with her by not asking her to leave because that's what I would have done so that some senses will come into her head. Imagine, breastfeeding a 4 month baby inside a pool and still have d guts to press charges.
ReplyDeleteIts inappropriate.
ReplyDelete~D great anonymous!
How person go dey breast feed 4 swimming pool? I jst tire 4 our pple.....
ReplyDeletethats very irritating and unhygienic for both the baby and other people in the pool. why cant she breastfeed by the pool on a chair or something. mtcheeew...bush woman.
ReplyDeleteIs inappropriate and moreover it is dangerous for a baby because of the amount of chlorine in the water.
ReplyDeleteShe should be allowed to sit in a corner if she's willing to cover herself.
my friend is bad 2 breastfeed ur baby inside a pool.
ReplyDeleteIn the pool fa?! Hmmm na wa o! What happened to outside d pool na? #JayBeyBlu
DeleteI am a nursing mother and i support the staff on this. Why would she breastfeed in a pool or even at the side of the pool?
ReplyDeletecommon..! that is arrant nonsense she is claiming right on. she lacks culture and respect to humanity. how could she breast feed in a public pool not private, take for instance.. 20 nursing mother were there and decided to follow suit, how would the place look like...? disgusting to other patronisers.. think she better learn and be cautioned.. thanks
ReplyDeleteAre u now supporting them on the other options giving to her...which are more ridicules
ReplyDeleteLinda, you amaze me at times. You are saying you support the center for throwing out the woman who was breastFEEDING her baby and yet everyday on this blog, you throw around photos of naked celebrities with their flat breasts hanging out and you tag the pictures "hot" "sexy" abi?? The lady in question even asked to breast feed by the pool side and they still refused. Why does she have to feed her baby in a toilet?? Linda, kpachara anya gi and try to reason before spouting ihe na enwegi isi. Are you not a woman Linda? I hope you will be sent to the toilet to breastfeed your baby..that is if you will breastfeed at all cos it seems you desperately want to "feel among". if you like don't post my comment.
ReplyDeleteLinda u re a fool for supportin d staff how is breastfeedin in a public pool inappropraite abegi they shld shutup.rubbish
ReplyDeleteDoes she nt knw dat swimming pool is mixed wit chemical, its not healthy to her baby.and I hate the idea of breastfeedin in public,so exposing nd local, urgggh
ReplyDeleteSeriously!!!! Common Linda Ikeji,I cnt bliv u said dat.....Wat crime has the young moth er committed?jst to breastfeed her hungry baby in a public swimming pool is now a crime even to u Linda? So dats means, breastfeedin in a shopping mall, market, commercial buses, salon, school etc is also a crime rite Linda nd co???? Linda a word of advice: u jst wait until u hav a 4 months old baby crying cos he's hungry nd den smbdy tells u this wen u r in an event etc nd den com hia nd tell us Wat u felt....u jst made me seriously angry wit dat ur comment, I dnt hav a child yet bt I will someday def bt I felt d pains d lady went thru....Linda if u like dnt post my comment, at least u read it. Mtcheeeew so annoying!!!!
ReplyDeletetell them dull fake people. this linda included. nonsense
DeletePls I support when they say don't breastfeed in d pool but y can't she breastfeed @ d side of d pool? Tellin her 2 go 2 d TOILET or CHANGIN ROOM is not hygienic either..2 wrongs cannot make a rite abeg..
ReplyDeleteThe woman should be floged.she is crazy.some people are just bush!bush!!bush!!! people.
ReplyDeleteWell it's inappropriate to breast feed in the pool. On the other hand in Nigeria women breast feed in all sorts of public places, hospitals, restaurants, church etc is that indecent exposure too?
ReplyDeleteLmao! Are you kidding me? Breast-feeding in a public pool? Mehn! Thats just too repugnant.
ReplyDeleteOh please, she shdn't be silly, first of all why can't u get ur butt outta the pool and look for a decent place to feed ur baby, its even more of a risk to the baby.
ReplyDeleteSilly woman, looking for a case when theres none. they shd have thrown her out
IF SHE STEPS OUT OF THE POOL AND SITS BY THE SIDE TO BREASTFEED THATS OK. WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO BREST FEED INSIDE THE SWIMMING POOL WITH ALL SORTS OF PEOPLE SPLASHING ABOUT? I THINK ITS UNFAIR SHE WAS TOLD THIS COULD NOT BE DONE OUTSIDE OF THE POOL. INSIDE OF THE POOL IS FOR THE SAFETY OF HER BABY AND HERSELF I GUESS.
ReplyDeleteLinda, how dare you utter such. Breastfeeding should be allowed anywhere, i don't suppoert her breastfeeding inside the pool but sitting by the side of the pool and breastfeeding is not a crime. For goodness sake, people even eat snacks and tske drinks beside the pool so why in heavens name should a mother go to the public rest room or changing room to breastfeed? she does have a case and of course it will cause alot of wahala for the authorities that treated her that way. Last week was breastfeeding awareness week and so many states in the us have passed the law that a mother has the right to breastfeed ANYWHERE she feels like.
ReplyDeleteThank you sister tell them.
Deleteoh please Sayo, I am a mother of three young children. A public swimming pool is not an appropriate place to breastfeed a child. Please let's call a spade a spade. It is disgraceful how young mothers of this generation flash their breasts in public places without an iota of dignity or shame in the name of breastfeeding. I exclusively breastfed my 3 children for 6 months and i did not ever flaunt or flash my boobs in public places , no matter how hungry my child was. Please let's be decent and desist from making excuses for certain things. It is even more disgraceful that the mother is talking about suing the hotel. She should go and hide her head in shame.
ReplyDeleteHow can someone breastfeed her baby in a swimming pool which is a public one? She seems to me a troublesome woman. Inside the pool? It is indecent, unsafe for the child in the pool as well. Again, she ought to have behaved decently by going to a corner to do that and not openly. This is more respectable for a woman instead of doing it openly and carelessly like some village women. The argument that she should be allowed to do it the way she wanted is the same argument helping permissive ways in the society, after all women should be allowed to dress the way they like! How do we respect women?
ReplyDeleteif the lady was in the pool brestfeeding then that is total wrong and dangerous for the child. But if she was not in the pool there is nothing wrong with that. its only u pervs that think breastfeeding is wrong, didnt ur momma breastfeed you. if u dont like it, then turn the other way and let women breastfeed.
ReplyDeleteChoi, why u wan waist peakmilk inside swimming pool now? ÒDÉ!!!
ReplyDeleteSee her yeye face.If i said i shld abuse her,my oga may say another thn.

First of all, in d u.s d law allows u to breastfeed everywhere so it can't be indecent exposure. Secondly if they think it contaminates their pool its dumb cos ppl pee there and they don't av a clue so milk won't do anymuch harm. Seriously only a dumb and insecure person wld be bothered bout someone breastfeeding in d first place. I bet some ppl had bikini's on in d same pool wit big boobs almost jumping out.
ReplyDeleteMost States in US e.g Louisiana allow mothers to publicly breastfeed and all employers must give them time to pump. Breastfeeding is highly encouraged and they promote it alot.
ReplyDeleteMost of u ppl against Linda and seeing no wrong for a SANE Mother to breast feed a baby in a "SWIMMING POOL" are so myopic or may be u've fed ur "common senses" to d dogs.
ReplyDeleteFunny enough,u guys are hidden.May u all remain anonymous for the rest of ur life..
Dumb oluwabobby. ur so dull u resort to insults
Deletewas there any sign lik no breastfeedin around d pool? if no den dey shdnt have embarrased her lik dat. its wrong of dem!
ReplyDeleteShe is not being rational. A swimming pool is a very unhealthy place and not the best choice for breastfeeding a baby. She's just been stubborn and probably wants her 5 minutes of fame (or notoriety)!
ReplyDeleteAngela or Angelo,u must be a COW for such unrealistic and sentimental comment.Incase u ar still annoyed,go to a swimming pool and press ur thn,let d milk/water or bobo juice that's inside come out.Mix it wid d water so that we can come and swim there.
ReplyDeleteIf this woman did breast feed her baby inside of a public pool ,then she's a woman with questionable hygiene standards I fear for the safety of this child. If this happened in England she would soon have the social at her door steps. Why would anyone want to expose their beautiful baby to public filth. Then also dripping your breast milk inside the pool, nobody needs that nonsense . She most have really offended a lot of people that's why they did not even allow her to breast feed outside the pool.
ReplyDeleteOf a truth, its not hygienic. Come out n do it
ReplyDeleteTotally inappropriate. Period!!
ReplyDeleteShe's very very very very stupid. Hair hatted hooligan. is that not even risky? putting infant in pool because you are too lazy to get put. irresponsible mom. Stupid woman
ReplyDeleteNo woman breastfeed. In public w his clear eyes bc it s u around dAt ll still should on d woman t give d child wat he or she wants.Wait until u re a mother
ReplyDeleteI don't think she should have been breastfeeding while she was in the pool. However, I do have an issue with the management saying she cannot breastfeed poolside. Human beings are so sexualized, that a nurturing, absolutely normal act is seen as 'weird' or a 'taboo'. What a freaking shame. This is why women choose not to breastfeed, or don't breastfeed exclusively for more than 3 months. Breastfeeding mothers need to be supported as breast milk contains antibodies not found in cow's milk, and essential fatty acids necessary for baby's development.
ReplyDeleteGo rest jor! Na u 1st born? Must u breastfeed ur baby in d pool? All those claiming 2 be mothers wey never fit know their left from their right supporting this shit should go & rest wit her jor! Nursing mothers displaying foolishness.
ReplyDelete-Blunt Ibo boy-
BREASTFEEDING IN A CORNER BY THE POOL ISN'T WRONG!!! BUT ASKING HER TO GO INTO A TOILET IS PLAIN BULLYING. AS FOR THOSE TAGGING IT 'INDECENT EXPOSURE', ITS ALL IN THEIR DIRTY MINDS. BEYONCE PUBLICY BREASTFED HER BABY AT A CAFE SOME TIME AGO AND SHE WAS PRAISED NOT CONDEMNED. FREE THE LADY JOR! A HUNGRY BABY'S CRIES CAN MAKE A MOTHER TEMPORARILY CRAZY.
ReplyDeletei woud one even think of it let lone do it..its soundz disgustin
ReplyDeletei woud one even think of it let lone do it..its soundz disgustin
ReplyDeleteVery, very inappropriate! If I read the story correctly, she's breastfeeding inside the pool? Now that's very unsafe for that infant. Also, it's unhygienic to other pool users and to the baby, indirectly.
ReplyDeleteWell looking at it,its not right. Infact the swimming in a public pool means meeting wth different people wth different body natures. However the question is whether the law prohibits it.if it doesnt am sorry.the woman is probably dirty by nature
ReplyDeleteAnnonymous 4:52pm,why are you full of hate?Linda only asked a question like trying to get our own opinion must you now abuse her?she's not married she wouldn't understand, married woman abeg park well and learn manners okay, you guys say all manner of things to Linda but as a matured lady that she is,she will still put your comment, try it to other blogs and get insults in return, the problem here is some people don't even know where to draw the line, rubbish woman, married woman my foot.Sandra says so oya talk again.
ReplyDeleteI don't think she wud have been harassed regardless :(. she's a lady...
ReplyDeleteshe shouldn't have been harassed regardless. She's a lady :(
ReplyDeleteI think is for her own n d baby good......d woman no dey shame sef....for dd fact d she has a baby dose nt mean she shld turn to old mama.....wat I my even saying old mama no fit just dey show her breast just anyhow sef......yeye woman look @her she look like a trouble maker sef.......mchwwwww,plssss post my comment
ReplyDeletehave u heard breast milks makes grown men think like a child? lol......abeg this woman has no case. infact a nursing mother should not go to some places like pool until after breastfeeding. I can imagine her breast milk dropping in the pool even when she's not breast feeding and other users will be drinking it. abeg if i want milk, i go go buy am from market ,not from the pool. for those people that says u wont understand when ur not married. whats there to understand. a nursing mother shouldnt go swimming at the first place. why not allow a menstruating woman into the pool too and tell me i wont understand becos of not a woman. abeg abeg this woman has got no case....... u cant just urinate at a hotel's kitchen instead of their ressroom and expecting the best customer service. pls think people think
ReplyDeleteAngel i dont understand u are u suporting d woman breastfeeding inside d pool,Like u said u dont have a baby yet bt when u do go ahead and breastfeed ur child inside d pool,Even if d baby is crying cos it'S hungry do u prefere having ur baby feed in d pool den ending up having sickness or escuse urself to a private place.
ReplyDeleteAt τ̲̅hε̲̣̣̣̥ pool, at τ̲̅hε̲̣̣̣̥ toilet re both unhygienic....... ŊO̶̷̩̥̊͡ case abeg
ReplyDeletewhat is the difference between a swimming pool and a toilet?
ReplyDeleteFirst off, why is a baby who is still nursing inside a pool? Stay at home abeg and work out until you no longer have to whip it out to feed. If you're outdoors on a bench then it's fine. But in a contained area like a pool? NO!
ReplyDeletei tink in an era where we are trying to encourage breastfeeding it is not rite for the management to stop her from feeding her child who by the way was hungry. Just like some people stop you from breastfeeding your child in a restaurant. Its bullyin of the highest order and if she covered her self appropriately and cleaned her nipples before feeding the child, why should she not be allowed to breastfeed by the poolside.
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous August 14, 2013 at 4:52 PM, WHAT HAS LINDA NOT MARRIED GOT TO DO WITH SOMEONE BREASTFEEDING IN THE SWIMMING POOL? I AM MARRIED AND MADE A COMMENT THAT IT'S INAPPROPRIATE. THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE NEXT TIME. EVERYBODY IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINION. MSHEEEEW
