The luxury SUVs, which were specially made for the Alakija boys, were quietly brought into the country a few weeks back. Each is said to have cost at least N22mllion, minus shipping.
Mrs Alakija is said to be worth about $600m (as of 2012) and makes about $1m daily from her oil business. She also has a real estate portfolio worth over $100 million.

ReplyDeleteFirstly,Mrs Alakija was a military appologist, who raped d system and secured a lucrative oil block durin d military junta of IBB.So isn't worth emulating as a role model.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, its high time we desist frm givin accolades 2 events/issues that profligates ostentatious spendin, like what d heck she buyin G-Guards 4 her 4 married spoilt silver spoon kids;how about rootin 4 dat smart dude on d streets that moved his folks frm A.J 2 V.I huh?or those smart gigs this country is blessed wit,who wit d bend of their back and sweat frm their brows build sucessful,goin-concern entaprises without d shadows of the parents hoverin around like dead ghosts.
Thirdly if at her age,she stills pamper her spoilt,married,silver-spoon kids, then a wonder she won't have a say in affairs concernin their individual families.
Lastly people,u won't b judged frm where u were born, but how well u surpase lifes viccitudes and utilise its opportunities,so keep ur head up and ur hussle on. Linda kindly do us a favour and don't b all up in our faces wit such inordinate news... D ICEMAN says

ReplyDeleteOmo mama olowo, instead of them to use their mother's wealth to start their own companies (don't know if any of them owns a company), well it's oil money, it's not necessarily hard work, once there's crude oil there's money, if only her can make over $600m annually, then Nigeria must be making well over $1 trillion annually (this should be an understatement). Because she get money Nigerians see her as a role model, she didn't even invent anything, pls not everyone can start up oil companies, Nigerians think about what's within your reach, besides she can get them any car, any house, any private jet and they'd probably get new cars again in 2014, SO WHAT'S THE HYPE FOR?

ReplyDeleteGood but I will want to know some of her welfare services for the less privileged. Always good to give back to the society.
ReplyDeleteOur collective wealth is shared amongst political cronies. At a time she topped Forbes with Oprah who through hardworki became a mogul but alas she did not make this list again.Dont you all wonder why American do not give oil blocks..Good for them but the kids of people without oil block with hard work will drive more than G-Wagon .
ReplyDeleteMa, if I can have only RV4 mini toyota jeep, I will be ok!

ReplyDeleteA corrupt leader gives someone an oil block and she becomes a role model. Nigeria is indeed a zoo for animals.
ReplyDeleteWhat shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loose his soul to the devil. Money is good but my dear friends do not forget to nourish the soul which is the most important thing cos the flesh is nothing but dust and after death comes judgment WHERE WOULD U SPEND ETERNITY? ReplyDeleteThe philosopher,Jeremy Bentham said 'the joy of a billionaire is in how people have benefitted from his billions'. The big question is in how many Nigerians have benefitted from Mrs Alakija's stupendous wealth? Millions of Nigerian masses still live below the poverty line, yet we still celebrate our billionaires.Ask her how many indigent Nigerian students she has given scholarships to. Olusola Oso. http://www.olusolaoso.blogspot.com/
