According to Fagge, the Federal Government, in 2009, promised to pay lecturers N12,500 per month as earn allowance but never did. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, are also on strike"The strike starts today (Monday) and it is going to last for as long as the Federal Government wants it. The Federal Government has refused to implement some of the issues contained in a 2009 agreement it had with us. What we are demanding as the earned allowance is not more than N12, 500 per person, yet government is saying it cannot afford such." Fagge said

ReplyDeleteIt is a mirage to think that islam is a peaceful religion, studies have shown that Prophet Muhammad ran a terror squard-SALAFIS, they were incharge of beheading, killing and rapping people. Have u wondered why islamic clerics all over d world supports extremism, terror and gruesome killings? Ur guess is as good as mine. Educated and enlightened moslems provides intelligence and logistics for violence & extremism to thrive.

ReplyDeleteIs #12,500 too much for allowance? When u in political position recieve diff allowances. God will judge u all only that its the student that will suffer it
ReplyDeleteLecturers are forever on strike- honestly, I have no sympathy for a bunch of vipers who prey on young women and force them to have sex with them in return for grades! It is because of these lecturers that the qualilty of university education in Nigeria has gone down! I wish the government would be bold enough to sack all striking lecturers and replace them with lecturers from Ghana and then you will see the difference.
ReplyDeleteThis country need prayers oh, i mean non-stop prayers..........
ReplyDeleteWhat a mess, we r all confused down here in ABU cos they r undecided abt d whole strike

ReplyDeleteNow would you blame people who leave this fucking country to study in a place like ukraine mtchewww
ReplyDeleteThe anonymous person who spoke outside the issue here is a trouble maker! Here, people are discussing a salient issue and you are busy condemning a religion, giving 'facts' you have no prove of. Islam for the umpteenth time is a religion of peace and forever it will be. No muslim in his right senses will kill any innocent person unjustly. Killing of innocent person is one of the greatest sins (as defined in the Qur'an) anybody can commit. If you hate Islam and muslims, please do not blackmail us, we understand there's in-balance in life. You can't expect everyone to like you, no matter how hard you try, definitely who will not like you will not. Take time to read the Qu'ran and find the truth yourself. Islam states categorically there's no absolute freedom in life, and this is against the ideology of the west, the main reason for all these attacks..sponsoring terrorism and blackmailing the muslims. The truth is, in the end, Islam will preva
ReplyDeleteMy school was d best Federal school in Naija.we never went on strike while I was in school cos we didn't belong to Asuu.Nnamdi azikiwe University is d bomb.don't know if Ȋ̝̊̅† still applies now.
ReplyDeleteAsuu, along with d federal gvt is wicked. They embark on strike periodically bcos dia children ar all studyin abroad or in private universities. Dey dnt av us @ heart, dey ar jst fightin 4 dia SELFISH Interest
ReplyDeleteAsuu go to hell
ReplyDeleteAsuu go to hell
ReplyDeleteThis lecturers should park well and get serious. They go on strike at the drop of the hat, what are they giving in terms of educational development ,can they tell us about just one technological breakthrough from any of our universities. They are more interested in 12,000,ole. I expected them to embark on strikes to demand for research grants ,not some crappy allowance ,foolish oliver twist, always asking for more
ReplyDeleteWhy are they going on strike after all they are enjoying fringe benefits disturbing all our babes, having free sex in their offices for marks . Government should ignore them this time ,some of this idiots are not even qualified to teach so what the heck ,Assu or Assup should find a place to park ,shior
ReplyDeleteGovernment should invoke the work to rule labour clause which states that you will not be paid if you don't work, what rubbish ,they always look for the flimsiest excuse to embark on strike. The hallmark of a good labour leader in Nigeria is to embark on strike regardless of the need ,foolish people
ReplyDeleteMost of this useless lecturers are using government time to engage in private practice in the private universities, a eery unethical behavior, yet they are demanding for 12,000 naira,it's high time the government makes certain demands from this so called teachers who sleep with anything in skirts in return for marks
ReplyDeleteGovernment should please allow this idiots to rot at home and not honor their demands ,most of them are doing PP in private universities ,yet are demanding for 12k ,ole ,barawo ,jaguda ,sack them all
ReplyDeleteLINDA, am so so disappointed in u, u smetimes refuse to post reasonable comment, and here u re posting a comment that has got nothin 2 do wth this post rather a comment that will cause religious crisis. U hve not done a good job here, u obviously support waht that guy said, if @ all u value the muslims that visit ur blog, u won't hve the gut to insult them. Pls tke off that shit. Thnk u
