Nigerian Graduates with 4.0CGPA out of 4.0 in University of Texas

A 24 year old Nigerian, Uwa Osamede Imafidon, just graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) in the US with Masters degree in Microbiology and made a 4.0 CGPA out of the maximum 4.0 CGPA.

Before her sojourn abroad, she had earlier bagged a First Class Degree in Crop Science from University of Benin, as the Best Graduating student in her Department. So proud of her! See photos of her when she was in Nigeria for her first degree, after the cut...

Moreso if u can bag a first class here in a Nigerian insitution without adaquate learning facility then why won't you do better in a country where all learning aid are at your disposal. Go gurl

  55. Do you guyz know intelligence comes from mothers that is the Gene is transferred to an offspring from the mother and not the father. This report is not proven just speculations from scientist. Even at that I wouldn't mind marrying this girl... some of us would wonder and ask why this why that blah blah blah I tell you it takes alot of discipline and the Grace of God to come out with a 4.0 out of 4.0 so I'll marry her because she is discipline and has the grace not because she has two first class.

    ReplyDelete
  56. no hating but this is no news.there are tons of Nigerians that get 4.0 every year from US universities.infact i have more than 4 friends that had that cgpa and they didn't make noise about it.pls stop feeding us with rubbish news!

  114. I seriously wonder why this is news!!! I am a first year MPH (Master of Public Health) candidate at the Texas A&M university with a CGPA of 4.0/4.0; My husband, an MBA candidate in another school in Texas is also on a 4.0/4.0 CGPA. While these might be good achievements, we really don't see it as anything cos eitherway, most companies will prefer to employ candidates who already have work visas! The main thing is to be able to get good jobs with companies that will sponsor the job visa!!!cos me I don't want to return to Nigeria until I have made over 20times the money used to send me to school here!

  124. That's what am talking about. Congrats intelligent lady, i wish more nigerian girls in universities would focus on their studies. Instead most are selling their bodies to the highest bidder. Even if they graduate most are still dumb, because they either bought their certificates or they slept with their professor. It is so refreshing to see a bright young nigerian lady use whats between her head not between her legs. Congrats girl, i am proud of you.

  139. Not bad...she try :) happy for her... Congrats

    ReplyDelete
  140. Firstly.... Congratulations to her, and even thou I don't know her but stories like this makes me proud, hearing of Nigerians doing well especially in the diaspora..

Secondly, I am sure some company in the US would have snatched/recruited/head-hunted her straight from graduation already, in the UK, companies use the help of universities to employ such high achieving students and I'm definitely sure she won't be getting any small offer... My point is, there are many companies in Nigeria who can make good use of such talent/genius... What are they doing ( plus the useless government) to entice back home, all these geniuses from Nigeria... Nigeria will only grow when the young educated take charge of Nigeria and I don't mean politics alone!...

    Just saying!

    ReplyDelete

Linda please post something else cos if you have to do this you would have to source for the millions of Nigerians here in the US with 4.0/4.0 GPA. It is a cliche here in the US for most Nigerians and other Africans. Though still proud of her
