Graphic photos: Man crushed to death by mast during heavy rain

A 52 year old man identified as Adeolu Adeleke was crushed to death at Marina Car Park, Lagos Island, on Friday May 10th during heavy rain when a communication mast fell from a 2-storey building and crushed him to death.

The roadside trader met his untimely death as he went to protect his wares from heavy rain and winds. He'd dashed across the street to fetch something to cover his wares but the mast fell on him as he made his way back to his shade. See more photos after the cut. *viewer discretion advised*

Death will always find a reason. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

  34. I can't help it but weep coz of that old woman crying helplessly. The mast says it all, no standards in Nigeria.
Who ever owns the mast should locate the family, apologise and pay compensations.

  59. The communication company responsible for the mast should better pay his family a compensation. Though no amount of money given can bring him back to life but its the right thing to do.

  64. This is a good story for "1000 ways to die." on Sony Max cable TV.
What Adeolu could not provide for his family in his lifetime, he has done so by his death.
His family should sue the bloody hell out of the company that installed and owns the mast.
N100,000,000(One hundred million naira) compensation is not enough.

    Linda
    U are educated I guess
    So wht reason
    D mast ws poorly erected
N u come up with so shallow sentiment
    That belittle your person
D owners of d mast should be charged for negligence n manslaughter!
Your opinion is intangible kin any civilised sertting!

  75. Its sad and gruesome to note that this poor man died as a result of some organization's largesse.Govt shld pls review the idea of erecting of heavy mast and bill boards on houses and cliff tops that have little or in-considerable resistance to environmental or climatic hazards.E fit be you ooh.May his soul rest in peace.
