Governor Rotimi Amaechi suspended by PDP

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today suspended Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, from its fold after an emergency meeting..

Below is a statement issued by the party's national publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh. It reads:
The National Working Committee at its emergency meeting on Monday, 27 May, 2013 considered the petition submitted by the PDP Rivers State Executive Committee against His Excellency Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Executive Governor of Rivers State for violating Articles 58 1 (b), (c ), (h) and (m) of the PDP Constitution.
The National Working Committee after preliminary hearing, in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 57 (3), 59 (3), 59 (5) and 29 (2.b) hereby suspends the Executive Governor of River State, Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a member of the PDP and refers the matter to the appropriate disciplinary committee of the Party.
This is in furtherance of the determination of the leadership of the Party to enforce discipline at all levels within the Party. Signed: Chief Olisa Metuh, National Publicity Secretary

    1. All of them are fools but amechi is a bigger fool! Remember when he used to fight even d presidents wife, going as far as sacking her cousin from chairmanship of a particular town, did he think he wld go free? The president na thief so is Amechi so I don't support either! It's not as if Amechi is fighting GEJ for the betterment of Nigerians but for his selfish ambition so let him enjoy it. Arrogant git!

They scheme so well when its got to do with issues pertaining to themselves(political cabal and cohorts) How I wish they can be this competent in swiftness to the development of the nation rather than their individual and future gains and plans.

It's because they have not had a chance to 'rule' (I hate when they say that..you can just whiff the stench of arrogance). The future of Nigerians is not about these thieving thugs in either of the major political parties (I shudder to even call them that), it is in OUR hands. The continued siddon look mentality is what is killing us. Well, I guess we like it, if not we would have done something about it. Shikena.

  56. Linda why did you not write what PDP said Amechi did.Pls don't be bias! PDP made it clear that his offense was that he refused to reinstate the elected Chairman and 17 Councillors they suspended in Obio/Akpor LGA as suggested by the the Rivers State PDP executive, for the interest of peace in the state .It is political too that the Chairman and all the 17 Councillors of Obio/Akpor which is one of the largest LGA, were suspended for sometime now probably because they were not in Amechi's faction. So what he measured unto others is what is coming back to him! Politiking! No permanent friend no permanent enemy! Rob my back! I rob ur own!

  69. Amaechi wont join any opposition party, he only got suspended by the pdp, not expulsion. something affiliated to GEJ's instructions mediated this, and every complex thinker in the country can see that the pdp is only showcasing disunity as a distraction to their opposition parties. call it a fug of activities to buy them time in preparation and execution of their electoral strategy for 2015.. quote me when I say GEj and Amaechi are playing mind games here, else ask urself why a politic as that of the president will resort into war wt a region that comprises a major percentage of his votes and support. he may be slow, but not stupid. refer to the announcement made on the 1st of January 2012, a deviation for the country's rationale on other pending issues which required government intervention. everything has been predicted bt re-evaluation, re-strategizing and control are the elements they all await to employ, hail pdp... charlestol endorses...

  70. The Apple does not fall far from the tree!!! Amechi is a pdp bred so he knows what their party laws are..if along the line his personal ambition conflicts with their shady laws then he should face the music and stop hoping to gain sympathy from anybody because these politicians don't have pity for anybody..I remember how vocal he was during the fuel subsidy wahala he was the most vocal governor in support of GEJ's subsidy removal scam...now it's his turn to cry foul!!!
