Gov Okorocha returns to Imo, gives N200k to the driver that hit him

Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha returned to the state yesterday after about a week in a UK hospital where he went for treatment following the April 19th car accident he was involved in on Orlu-Owerri Road in Imo State.

The driver of the Mercedes Benz that rammed into the governor’s car, Mr Osita Nnewuihe, was given N200, 000 yesterday by Okorocha to repair his damaged car. Mr Nnewuihe had been arrested and detained by the police for about a week before he was released on the governor's orders.

    So he travels abroad for treatment. Plane fare first class obviously, first class private hospital care + dash money to poor bewildered driver. All that cash could have been put into a local hospital for upgrades to treat Minor injuries for everyone dat needs treatment. Common sense . I would be sooo ashame as governor to attend a hospital abroad for treatment. These people smile in your face and spit in your food. I know I work in one of these hospitals. Please stop disgracing Nigeria .

    Actually i don't know why i keep having a feeling that this incidence is staged...
    you driving in a convoy, and your own car was hit in particular, the driver was arrested and you came back from hospital, released him and gave him money to repair his car... Nice script Mr Guvnor!!!!

    Nigerians the most gullible people in the whole wide world. Why didn't the governor inquire about the driver of the other car before going overseas. That would have made more sense. This is damage control. He heard all the negative reaction to his trip and decided to do this. Was he in a coma after the accident? Why didn't he instruct his people to do this before?     1. Somebody drove a vehicle without wearing the seat belt. 2. Another person abandoned an accident scene. 3. A citizen is arrested and detained for days without any charge. 4. Somebody is assaulted. All we say is thank you to them. Shame!!!
