Photos from Nse Ikpe Etim and Clifford Sule's traditional wedding
Actress Nse Ikpe Etim and Clifford Sule's traditional wedding held yesterday Thursday April 4th at St. Stephen Primary School, Ikot Etobon, Akwa Ibom State. Big congrats to them. See more photos after the cut...
God bless u , that's what I was thinking . Why in the world is he wearing Indian wear on his traditional wedding day :/. Also I like the fact that she represented he akwa ibom side by her dressing and hair unlike annie who wore more of an igbo traditional wear . And why didn't she get a car ? Is she not an akwa ibom daughter aswell ?
Dumb bull dogs, dat's how he's mearnt to dress.na suit and tie una want make him wear.abeg jor if u guys don't ve anytin gud to say, make una go sweep lagos roads.
I love nse. Nice makeup. Although in the first pic d dress isn't so flattering on her, nywyz na custom n tradition 4 d calabars wateva dey give u, u go wear am....wish her a HML.
Shut up!!! Waz custom and tradition in calabar? You can stylishly sew your traditional wedding attire(oyoyo) how you want. I don't like her fabric and the way the tailor sewed it.
Never attend an akwa ibom's wedding wt d hope of leaving early,n never fink u re late.wen u feel u re late, relax u re still too early. Nse darling u did justice 2 dat hair,n u look amazeballs. Love u silly.
They look realy cute,I like d guy's outfit but I dnt understand Nse's own sha, maybe its her native attire tho but still cute nd differently stylish, way 2 go.God bless ur union!!
Wey Gov Godswill Akapbio??? Abi this wan no be Super Star like Tubaba & Ani? I like the couple, but that choice of colour on their wedding day was so wrong... Something brighter would have done it. Blue, Red, Green... but Bronze is so much of their skin tone it doesn't work. Just saying...
I love her make up,its light and beautiful, don't understand what she's wearing though but I love her hubby's outfit btw she's way more beautiful in person, wish her a happy married life @bladadash
To the people complaining about the attire - That is the Calabar traditional attire. Gosh! people just comment without being sure of what they are about to say
Nse is such a sweet sweet lady, in person. I always knew she was too good to be single. I met her for the 1st time 5 years ago and I remem I kept asking our mutual friend 'Why is she single?' Cos she was just too nice and so amazing!! I'm so happy for her. Happy married life, ma'am. God bless your union. The smiles say it all!
She used to say marriage was not by force/not for her. See how quickly she went from engaged to married, she no allow the bobo to change his mind at all, no retreat no surrender.
She does look gorge in that last pic. Congratulations to her. All you babes saying you don't want to marry on the outside but crying to God for husband at night, drop the pretenses o! See how much more beautiful she has become in a few short months.
Pls, enuf about the attires. Its the traditional attire for most tribes from Akwa-Ibom/Cross-River State ok?!! Read more about your country and get facts about the smaller ethnic groups!! Thank u
I hope their Gov still has more Prado jeeps to give out to this daughter of the land that waited all these years for this man. If e no do anything, then something is definitely fishy on that tubaba gift oh, which only Annie will be able to explain. HML Nse.
I sincerely L♥√ع Nse,and infact am one of her biggest fan...But i really hate it when this Akwa ibom people try so hard to steal the Efik(calabar) culture...This is exactly why calabar people look down on the Akwaibomites because they just L♥√ع to steal from us and try to claim it.Nse please that is an attire of an Efik bride not an Akwa ibom bride and that hairstyle drives me bonkers, you stole everything from the Efik culture just to stand out, what happend to the wrapper that your people wear and the Gele they tie as your culture requires?#pissed# HML still
Make una no mind Akpabio! Him never talk wetin join him and Annie Macauly together. Is Nse not a bigger and better ambassador of Akwa Ibom State who was by her man for many years? Hasn't he heard of their own love story? And how she never wanted to love again when she thot it wasn't gonna be him? So why him no make noise for here? Shioor! Na so dem dey take deceive their sef! May God continue to expose them....
And to those who don't know,Calabar is capital of Cross River state..and Nse is from Akwa ibom state so she's not from calabar...i'll excuse those who didn't know the difference...but she was dressed like a traditional Efik(calabar) bride and that's what i don't understand.Akwa ibom people need to learn to L♥√ع and appreciate their culture and be proud of it..I don't care how many of them come on here to bash me but they know am stating facts that's why it hurts them...congrats to the couple
Ha! This Akwa ibom people sef,is this how an Akwa ibom bride is supposed to dress?if i didn't know Nse at a first glance i would've thought she was an efik bride. I thought its calabar brides that dress this way? Nse what are you and your husband wearing? You stole from calabar traditional attire and he stole that of indians? Na wa o abi una two no get heritage? Anyway HML o
Congrats really like there out.But what was Governor Akpabio's gift to them just like as he did for 2face or this one no be Akwa ibom daughter. From Igbandus PHC
Its nice to look different and loving it. Love your hair style sweetie. You both are dashing. Love you more my pretty. May His grace bless your union. Amen
The reason why u lot are crying over the attire is cause most of you are not use to seeing people dress decently anymore. That's class right there, very much appropriate dressing. Modesty is the best policy ! Nufsaid.
I couldn't help buh notice that during the cutting of the cake,Nse's hand was found on top of Sule's.Isn't it the other way round?.Ot is it done amongst the Ibibio?.Or anyhow goes?.Or is it the Nsule's(Nse + Sule) way?.HML to both of 'em though.
She z beautiful' bt dnt knw y diz Akwa ibom ppl wnt stp stealin frm d calabar ppl dey shud learn 2 apreciate deir culture n traditions. Well she z cute in d dress anwayz¤¤ HML to dem hop it lasts ooo¤¤
HML Nse and Cliff! God bless ur home. Nse you look absolutely adorable. You don't have to like their outfit as long as the couple likes it that is all that matters. If she chooses to dress like a fulani bride thats her business not urs we leave in a free world and its all abt concept as long as the wedding held in her village thats all that matters. Anti Bullshit thanks for ur 2nd comment some people just try too hard to make people look bad somehow. You haters try and get a life And if you like curse me out i'm not gonna come back to read ur comments.
I think the punjabi flavor they added to the male outfit kinda spoiled it. Calabar culture is very rich and their attires are seductive and vibrant as is. The gold and the head dress on the male and basically the entire punjabi variant to the whole thingy just kinda stole from it.
I love Nse to bits (no homo). In my eyes, she can do no wrong. You both look lovely. Happy married life and lots of bambinos. You are such a good actress. I buy all the films that feature you.
Lol @ Calabar fight vs. Akwa Ibom! What is the difference tho?? Yall are the same MINORITY group! It's like Imo state shouting Enugu stole their attire! It is the same basket under one umbrella! To us Major tribes, Akwa Ibom=Calabar and vice versa! Una language is the same bong, tong, iyong, bassey, ekpeyoung! Na the same yon yon we dey hear when una open ya mouth!
@Gbenga PLEASE do not utter such ignorance on this post. Please do not say things when you have not done your research. We are not the same minority group. PLEASE! Same umbrella????? I JUST CANT! Calabar which is in Cross River State has three main languages (Efik, Efut and Qua) which does NOT include Ibibio (who derive from Akwa Ibom State). We are not the same group. It is like saying the Ijo people are Yorubas which is incorrect. It is not the same thing. Get your facts straight.
Furthermore, I adore Nse as an actress but I am completely perplexed as to why she chose to wear Efik traditional attire when shes not even from there. A wedding is a time to represent where you come from and clearly depict your culture to others. How Annie Idibia dressed for her wedding is an excellent example of what an Ibibio woman wears for her traditional wedding. I am incredibly confused by it all.
Furthermore, what her husband was wearing is not Efik attire. I'm not here for that Asian confused get up. If it was truly an Efik Wedding, he would have worn the appropriate attire.
Rant over. Efik and Ibibios are two different tribes from two different states. THAT IS ALL!
Oh shataaap Canaan lady the defender of cross river's custom and tradition. U have made ur point, it have teyyyy, move on and go get ur boyfriend to put a ring on it. Pple r happily married, odas r doing online scrutiny of attires to condemn.
Calabar people e be like say this oil thing still dey pain una o?..eyah kpele....pls Mrs canaanlady calm down...akwaibom was brot out of crossrriver..it was all crossrriver b4..So if they decide to dress like them it's allowed...not to say that our gele n wrapper isn't lovely as well..so shutup pls...Oron and okobo which are in AkwaIbom state are known for this nse's dressing too...so take a seat...we understand d efiks wen they speak n they understand us too...we can choose to dress like that....u guys r just sad that AKWAIBOM don dey steal d show from una..the majority in calabar r akwaibom pple...how many are you sef ....mtchewwww
Linda pls approve my comment GOD will continue to bless you .... Calabar people e be like say this oil thing still dey pain una o?..eyah kpele....pls Mrs canaanlady calm down...akwaibom was brot out of crossrriver..it was all crossrriver b4..So if they decide to dress like them it's allowed...not to say that our gele n wrapper isn't lovely as well..so shutup pls...Oron and okobo which are in AkwaIbom state are known for this nse's dressing too...so take a seat...we understand d efiks wen they speak n they understand us too...we can choose to dress like that....u guys r just sad that AKWAIBOM don dey steal d show from una..the majority in calabar r akwaibom pple...how many are you sef ...mtchweeeeeeee....
Nse looks so beautiful ..proper efik /ibibio heritage...I'm happy for them o...but this her hubby..this is not how our handsome men dress o...lol...still gorgeous tho.....then abeg all these argument is not needed...the bride's dressing is as old as crossrriver n den akwaibom was part of it...most of their culture is tapped from c.river cos dats their origin .the major languages r similar(efik /ibibio) ...the differences btw d two states are just like all these igbo states..yet dey dnt flaunt their differnces in public cos of mere dressing. Well i guess that's y we're called "minority".that's y i like igbos...so united..akwaibom ye crossriver better learn from them
To those Efik people who are having a cow about Akwa Ibom brides choosing to wear Oyonyon, please note, it is mainly the Ibibios that tie wrapper. There are other minority ethnic groups in Akwa Ibom who do not dress the way the Ibibios dress.
At the end of the day the Oyonyon is an adulteration of Victorian colonial style dresses worn by missionary ladies etc at the time. Oyonyon is what the ladies in my village wear (and not wrapper) regardless of whether a wedding is taking place or not. We are not ibibio so tying wrapper is alien to us. On the other hand, my mum is Ibibio and she stays tying her wrappers.
someone who knows the bride well should please improve wikipedia's piece on her. I'd say she's earned it, there are definitely things worthy of note about her on & off screen.
He was my lecturer at Middlesex University. Amazing lecturer, you walked out of his lecture feeling fulfilled. I am female and I got into computer network design and implementation due to his teaching. Now I work for a blue-chip company in the city of London as a design specialist. I wish them both a happy married life. Thank you sir!
Niceeeeeee!

ReplyDeleteFurthermore, I adore Nse as an actress but I am completely perplexed as to why she chose to wear Efik traditional attire when shes not even from there.
Happy Married Life to Nse anyway...
@Gbenga ignorance is your problem.Go and study Nigerian tribes again. So because we are minority we should let people mix us up.
ReplyDeleteLovely couple! Her hubby looks like Taye Diggs...
ReplyDeleteOnPoint
The good gov has confirmed to me that Nse didn't receive a prado cos she dressed like an Efik bride. She best go to oga Liyel

ReplyDeleteCongrats to Nse n her beau. God bless their union.
ReplyDeleteNse looks so beautiful ..proper efik /ibibio heritage...I'm happy for them o...but this her hubby..this is not how our handsome men dress o...lol...still gorgeous tho.....then abeg all these argument is not needed...the bride's dressing is as old as crossrriver n den akwaibom was part of it...most of their culture is tapped from c.river cos dats their origin .the major languages r similar(efik /ibibio) ...the differences btw d two states are just like all these igbo states..yet dey dnt flaunt their differnces in public cos of mere dressing. Well i guess that's y we're called "minority".that's y i like igbos...so united..akwaibom ye crossriver better learn from them
ReplyDeleteTo those Efik people who are having a cow about Akwa Ibom brides choosing to wear Oyonyon, please note, it is mainly the Ibibios that tie wrapper. There are other minority ethnic groups in Akwa Ibom who do not dress the way the Ibibios dress.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day the Oyonyon is an adulteration of Victorian colonial style dresses worn by missionary ladies etc at the time.
I'd say she's better than what's there now
ReplyDeletesomeone who knows the bride well should please improve wikipedia's piece on her. I'd say she's earned it, there are definitely things worthy of note about her on & off screen.
ReplyDeleteHe was my lecturer at Middlesex University. Amazing lecturer, you walked out of his lecture feeling fulfilled. I am female and I got into computer network design and implementation due to his teaching. Now I work for a blue-chip company in the city of London as a design specialist. I wish them both a happy married life. Thank you sir!
