    1. God bless u , that's what I was thinking . Why in the world is he wearing Indian wear on his traditional wedding day :/. Also I like the fact that she represented he akwa ibom side by her dressing and hair unlike annie who wore more of an igbo traditional wear . And why didn't she get a car ? Is she not an akwa ibom daughter aswell ?

  60. I sincerely L♥√ع Nse,and infact am one of her biggest fan...But i really hate it when this Akwa ibom people try so hard to steal the Efik(calabar) culture...This is exactly why calabar people look down on the Akwaibomites because they just L♥√ع to steal from us and try to claim it.Nse please that is an attire of an Efik bride not an Akwa ibom bride and that hairstyle drives me bonkers, you stole everything from the Efik culture just to stand out, what happend to the wrapper that your people wear and the Gele they tie as your culture requires?#pissed# HML still

You don't have to like their outfit as long as the couple likes it that is all that matters. If she chooses to dress like a fulani bride thats her business not urs we leave in a free world and its all abt concept as long as the wedding held in her village thats all that matters. Anti Bullshit thanks for ur 2nd comment some people just try too hard to make people look bad somehow. 120. I think the punjabi flavor they added to the male outfit kinda spoiled it. Calabar culture is very rich and their attires are seductive and vibrant as is. The gold and the head dress on the male and basically the entire punjabi variant to the whole thingy just kinda stole from it.

  126. Lol @ Calabar fight vs. Akwa Ibom! What is the difference tho?? Yall are the same MINORITY group!
It's like Imo state shouting Enugu stole their attire! It is the same basket under one umbrella! To us Major tribes, Akwa Ibom=Calabar and vice versa! Una language is the same bong, tong, iyong, bassey, ekpeyoung! Na the same yon yon we dey hear when una open ya mouth!

    ReplyDelete
  127. @Gbenga PLEASE do not utter such ignorance on this post. Please do not say things when you have not done your research. We are not the same minority group. PLEASE! Same umbrella????? I JUST CANT! Calabar which is in Cross River State has three main languages (Efik, Efut and Qua) which does NOT include Ibibio (who derive from Akwa Ibom State). We are not the same group. It is like saying the Ijo people are Yorubas which is incorrect. It is not the same thing. Get your facts straight.

Furthermore, I adore Nse as an actress but I am completely perplexed as to why she chose to wear Efik traditional attire when shes not even from there. A wedding is a time to represent where you come from and clearly depict your culture to others. How Annie Idibia dressed for her wedding is an excellent example of what an Ibibio woman wears for her traditional wedding. I am incredibly confused by it all.

Furthermore, what her husband was wearing is not Efik attire. I'm not here for that Asian confused get up. If it was truly an Efik Wedding, he would have worn the appropriate attire.

Rant over. Efik and Ibibios are two different tribes from two different states. THAT IS ALL!

Happy Married Life to Nse anyway...

    ReplyDelete
  128. @Gbenga ignorance is your problem.Go and study Nigerian tribes again. So because we are minority we should let people mix us up.

  137. Nse looks so beautiful ..proper efik /ibibio heritage...I'm happy for them o...but this her hubby..this is not how our handsome men dress o...lol...still gorgeous tho.....then abeg all these argument is not needed...the bride's dressing is as old as crossrriver n den akwaibom was part of it...most of their culture is tapped from c.river cos dats their origin .the major languages r similar(efik /ibibio) ...the differences btw d two states are just like all these igbo states..yet dey dnt flaunt their differnces in public cos of mere dressing. Well i guess that's y we're called "minority".that's y i like igbos...so united..akwaibom ye crossriver better learn from them

    ReplyDelete
  138. To those Efik people who are having a cow about Akwa Ibom brides choosing to wear Oyonyon, please note, it is mainly the Ibibios that tie wrapper. There are other minority ethnic groups in Akwa Ibom who do not dress the way the Ibibios dress.

At the end of the day the Oyonyon is an adulteration of Victorian colonial style dresses worn by missionary ladies etc at the time. Oyonyon is what the ladies in my village wear (and not wrapper) regardless of whether a wedding is taking place or not. We are not ibibio so tying wrapper is alien to us. On the other hand, my mum is Ibibio and she stays tying her wrappers.

  139. someone who knows the bride well should please improve Wikipedia's piece on her. I'd say she's better than what's there now

  140. someone who knows the bride well should please improve wikipedia's piece on her. I'd say she's earned it, there are definitely things worthy of note about her on & off screen.

  141. He was my lecturer at Middlesex University. Amazing lecturer, you walked out of his lecture feeling fulfilled. I am female and I got into computer network design and implementation due to his teaching. Now I work for a blue-chip company in the city of London as a design specialist. I wish them both a happy married life. Thank you sir!
