  5. This should just go out as a sign of warning to airline operatives in this country. If it can happen to BA of all airlines then it means authorities need to be more stringent about safety.

  22. Thank God it happened that way!!! But the engineers could have detected the mechanical fault, over hauled the left and right engines before the engines stopped working! What if the engines stopped working up there ? And it crashes, it would now be blamed on weather complications.... Too bad .

  36. There is no airline like VIRGIN ATLANTIC.

BA flights from Lagos to London (to and fro) are very OLD. My last trip in February was NIGHTMARE on a BA plane.

Meanwhile the flight from London to the US on this same BA was EXCELLENT. Msheeww!!

All these foreign companies that bring their rubbish to this part of the world - anyway I blame our government.

  39. Abeg its better to have a cancelled/rescheduled flight, than to be in an aircraft that would crash-land in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, or in some thick forest in a country u've never heard of. In aviation, safety is paramount. The passengers may have some time to wait before another aircraft flies in to convey them; but at least they would be alive

  40. This is the second time this is happening. On the 27th of march BA actually took off at 11.50 pm and came back at a few minutes past 1to Lagos because of engine problems. They eventually left a few minutes after 5 am. Federal government won't harass BA for bringing poor aircrafts to Nigeria.

  41. Well TONI 1:27pm BA leaves nigeria at 07am GMT 4 EGLL(london heathrow) everyday 4rm Abuja. And point of correction linda,d aircraft only called 4 start and was yet to taxi 4 take off. The approprite authorities hv been in4med. Safety in aviation is our priority

  42. If it was a Nigerian carrier the pilot would've still flown the aircraft & left it to ' the grace of God' for a safe journey! Lol & smdh, I thank God for the people on this flight the problem was detected b4 take off
@ Anon April 15,2013 1.59 pm,Virgin does the same thing! My last flight to UK was ok..ish but my connecting flight to LA was off the hook! Even the entertainment facilities were better!! My husband & I could not believe our eyes, but who do we blame if not our useless so called govt who allow foreign airlines to bring shabby planes here msheww
