D'banj gets mentioned on daytime TV in the US

D'banj was mentioned on Live with Kelly and Michael, a top syndicated morning talk show, hosted by Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan. The male host, Michael, read out the top five songs for working out at the gym and D'banj's Oliver Twist was mentioned at number 3 after Psy's Gangnam Style (5) and Keisha's Die Young (4).     Nigerians LIVE out their American fantasies everyday in films, music videos, mode of dressing, in conversations etc and Americans aren’t proclaiming it the greatest things since cellular phones BUT check out Nigerians having heart palpitations because D’banj was mentioned on a morning show in New York. We are still looking for a nod of approval from outside of ourselves. The mention should just be a given because he is a star in his own right, it should just be a given just like Nigerians talk about Jigga, Kanye without it being a big deal because it is just a given that they are stars.     D'banj has had some songs after Don Jazzy's Oliver Twist. They've all been rubbish. This guy has aready lost his position in Naija music. Being known in US does not mean jack these days. Just ask P Square, Tu face, MI. These guys are cleaning up in Africa. Why do you think all these US peeps are here like every other week.

    I live in the US, and Kelly Ripa's morning show is HUGE. It is as big as Oprah having a morning show. For "Oliver Twist" to be in the top three workout songs here is the shizzle. And Michael Strahan is a top American footballer, though retired. That show's endorsement goes a long way. And for the ignoramuses, nobody in mainstream America cares about a local squabble between D'banj and Don Jazzy. It has no relevance to the guys or ladies working out at the neighborhood gym here.
