Below is what the presiding judge, Justice Oniyangi, said in his ruling...
"After the death of Umar Yar'Adua, there was no election or bye election, President Jonathan was merely asked to assume the office of the President in line with Doctrine of necessity. He was not elected as the President but was made to assume office by virtue of Yar'Adua's death.
“Having exhausted the late President's tenure, he sought for his party's ticket and ran for the office of the President successfully in 2011 general election. He is therefore currently serving his first tenure of office and if he so wishes, he is eligible to further seek his party's ticket through the party's primary election and to run for office in 2015," , adding that President Jonathan’s tenure as President started in May 29, 2011, when he took the oath of office and not on May 6, 2010, when he assumed office after Umaru Yar’Adua’s demise.
Of course he is, but I don't think he has my vote.
ReplyDelete@Prittichi you are ensnaring!
Deletelolsssss y do u say dat dear??
DeleteWhether u r eligible to run or not, may u be put to shame! Inefficient president.... God willing, u won't win 2nd term.
ReplyDeleteLmaoooo, I shall most def nt vote 4 him, I am a corper in Osun and it sucks. Thanks 2 uncle Jonna. Kmt!!
DeleteWho doesn't know he's eligible to run, some lawyers get time sha,as if he's going to contest if President Jonathan decides not to run for 2015.oh! atleast nowI know there's a lawyer named Cyriacus Njoku.
ReplyDelete~BONARIO~says so via NOKIA3310
Sharrap there! U that has a lot of things to do at hand, while u spend 90% of ur time in lib's blog....woman in man's skin!
DeleteSharrap there! Bonario that has a lot of business to do at hand, while u spend not less than 90% of ur time in lib's blog....woman in a man's skin
Deleteu dey tell persin sharrap wot difference does it make he dey comment u dey veiw comment dat makes u even more jobless nonsense
Deletewhat do we expect?
ReplyDeleteNobody is saying he should not contest na, he has every legal right to put himself up for re- election. It is now left for you and I to decide whom we want to lead us in 2015. Be wise!!!
ReplyDeleteSmh... With this it means we would have to keep managing this type of snail like pace of development of GEJ for another 4 years after 2015. Take it or leave it, with the political incumbency that PDP has it would be a herculean task to overthrow GEJ in 2015
ReplyDeleteIf he likes let him be 120% eligible. He wont win next election.
ReplyDeleteSorry Mr President, 2015 wont be business as usual. Nigerians are fed up.
Pls give us light heat is killing us in abuja oooooooooooooo
ReplyDeleteGod bless you o. My hands hurt from fanning my baby at mid- night because of heat as we don't allow d gen run truout the night
DeleteDid that lawyer eva attend law school? Goody two shoes is eligible to contest. Although I aint voting for ebele.
ReplyDeleteNo one is arguing your eligibility, but the moral standing in which you will ask for our votes again.
ReplyDeleteHaaaa... Lai lai! Whether he is eligible or not. If he contests in the next elections, he shall not win!!!!! Amen!!!
ReplyDeleteAhn ahn... What is it nah?! He has put this nation on hold for too long!
Of course,he will RUN.by d time d hausa foolani pipu he entered oath with start dealing with him,he no go wear shoe before he go run.
ReplyDeleteOshisko
Deal with him or deal with Nigerians. Isn't that how BH became powerful b4
Deletewho cares,my own is to get a job and move on with my beautiful life
ReplyDeleteIf â„“ hear dat he wins election cum 2015? â„“ reserv ma comment. Buh of course he's eligible.
ReplyDeleteSorry to burst ur bubble ppl! he is coming back and he will win! That's the power of PDP and incumbency!
ReplyDeleteChange yourself! do not point fingers at Jonathan! We are all to blame for the state of the nation!
am I to be blamed for our bad roads, state of our educational system, epilleptic power supply, unemployment of youths, unrest in the north... abeg park well joor. and dont vote with religious sentiments in 2015
DeleteLol!!..His eligibility was neva in doubt. The pertinent issue is whether we want him there again.
ReplyDeleteI think I can hear a resounding NO!!from d four cardinal points of Nigeria.
Its however difficult 2 unseat an incumbent ruler seeking reelection cos he has all or almost all d machinery(Human and Non-Human), regarding d election at his beck and call.
Not voting for this incompetent gej. D most corrupt president ever. Just resign and allow capable ppl govern dis country
ReplyDeleteHe ll ever win weather he likes it or not!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNigerians are no longer quiet o. He can and should run but I would advice him not to waste his time and our money cos on that day Nigerians would stay at home and sleep while I would personally watch cartoons and drink custard all day. M
ReplyDeleteHahaha! My bro/sis I'm with you on that one..na ten ten or tinko igo dey play for my house..
Deleteyes we know he is eligible. i pray he wont get there in jesus name. even if they rig as they plan 2. i also call 4 30 days fasting wen dat time comes. who wants to remain stagnant in 2015.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you linda for erasing comments from jobless boy... Senseless comments.. M
ReplyDeleteNigerians are no longer quiet o. He can and should run but I would advice him not to waste his time and our money cos on that day Nigerians would stay at home and sleep while I would personally watch cartoons and drink custard all day. M
ReplyDeleteHmmm...... SMH! Ds country sha....
ReplyDeleteWhether imcumbency o or PDP o,GEL must go..and if he is planning to come run for a second term then i wonder wat his agenda, style, tactics and lie lie will be this time
ReplyDeleteLike are u guys for real? You think ur votes count? Smh. Y'all shld get a seat and take a chill pill. Cause GEJ is soo gonna run for the election. And HELL YES he's winning. If that hurts too much denounce ur citizenship.#Bye
ReplyDeleteFoolish you! You are what is wrong with this nation.. Block head..
DeleteFunny Ђδω we quickly lay d blame on the president for every evil I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ this nation! Have you done something good for your nation today. You sit on ur asses α̲̅πϑ curse ur leaders α̲̅πϑ Claim u're gud Christians!.....i sorry oo
ReplyDeleteAs a leader he has access to resources which can jumpstart this country to greatness, but nooo! Pls name one tangible thing he has done. To be a president is not to sit down and say u r trying ur best. Its a MAJOR responsibilty, short of performing miracles for the country u r ruling. Enough of the "Lackadaisical" ruling! He has not inspired any faith abeg!
DeleteDr Goodluck ebele azikwe Jonathan. What can I say. Hmmmm. The Armoured personnel carrier(APC) will crush the people's destructive party (PDP) in 2015. If PDP led FG can point to a newly constructed 100km road they've constructed in 14years, or list 10 achievements of theirs in 14years they've being in power. Then no problem. We are not talking about the borehole achievements please, and road patching oh. Final analysis PDP is a disaster to this country. Nigerians lets even try another party for once. We can now compare. Long live MR President, and may God continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteTo hell wit him and his fucking crew calling themselves leader of the nation, come 2015 is either resolution or revolution bcos we are tired of dis shit!!
ReplyDeleteAsaa and PC, the power of PDP incumbency may not work this time ooo, unless PDP decides to make GEJ their presidential flag bearer which may not likely be so, but let's watch and see PDP's plans unfold, meanwhile that lawyer must be daft shaa, film plenty for my country's politics shaaaa ooooo.
ReplyDeletethis judge's reasoning is sound in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteTo hell wit him and his fucking crew calling themselves leader of the nation, come 2015 is either resolution or revolution bcos we are tired of dis shit!!
ReplyDeleteI am warning whoever is telling us that GEJ is eligible to run, that he is also ELIGIBL to LOOSE. So that they won't impose him on us.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, he's eligible to re-contest. Even if not, they will surely bend the rule to suit his desire. Our vote is our power. Let's endaevour to vote wisely in the next election. It's high time we liberate ourselves from the shackle of BEASTS. Nigeria is seriously sick now, it's we the electorate that can heal her (NIGERIA)
ReplyDeleteJonathan will fail woefully in the next election. He is selfish and has maintained a closed ear to the plight of plenty unemployed graduates and youths. He ll sure be disgraced out of office. Such a heartless man.
ReplyDeleteQuick rejection IJMN
ReplyDeleteOfcourse, none of you guys wants GEJ to be president again...so questioning GEJ eligibility is a good tactical move on the lawyers part to at least derail his chances!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good first step, and since it didn't work, it's time to move on to round 2...stopping GEJ by any means necessary in the 2015 elections!
Blood will flow and heads will roll...bottomline, GEJ MUST GO!!!!
Am not voting for him
ReplyDeleteMtcheeww...who cares??? All i know is dat Nigeria need change, dis kai kai man is confused......4bm
ReplyDeletebut its too sad, that nothing can be done to stop him, cos if GEJ wants to remain on seat for another 4yrs from 2015, we all knw he sure will, cos he's in power and our leaders are not elected by us, they're elected by the amount in their pocket.God help Nigeria
ReplyDelete💤💤💤
ReplyDeleteGej has my vote. I will not join Tʰᵉ bandwagon to criticize a president who has shown that he respects rule of law. Light has improved since he came into power. I do not need a dictator. #Myopinion
ReplyDeleteOdensin, and it is that light you wnt to eat abi.. Oponu, wait sef, whrs the light? In your big head?
DeleteThunda strike dat ur bald head there!

ReplyDeleteof course he is.... is he not a citizen of this country again???.....i concur @ neks
ReplyDeleteGEJ has failed me as a person,I don't knw of other Nigerians thou.but if pdp gives GEJ ticket to rep d party come 2015 by mistake...na dem sabi,as for me am voting wisely
ReplyDeleteHmmmm! 2015, it is only GOd who can decide. We should learn frm Abacha..... The owner of life can call for it @anytime
ReplyDeleteAll u pple talking about slow speed, can any of u turn around this bastardised country even in 20 years? You may recall that your 'almighty baba' was there for 8 years and he couldn't lift a finger instead he was busy abusing Nigerians. I wonder who is that'fast Nigerian' who can do better than GEJ. Remember, anything that is done 'sharp, sharp' is 419. Be wise!
ReplyDeleteGod bless ur brethren...Tnk u..ur wise..please take it jeg jeg..jona will work..is this hausa people that are killing us,in the name of becoming president...these thing distract jonathan..
DeleteJona, why now? Please don't come and force yourself on us the PDP way. 500 naira per hungry voter, threat of stabbing any opposition voter at polling booths, collection of ballot paper from voters and checking who they voted for before throwing it into the box...........Jona, why now? Anyway, I wish to thank you for giving me self confidence. I now know I can effectively rule Nigeria. After all the boat stirs itself.
ReplyDeleteIf he wins come 2015,the war people have been spoiling for will be on.Don't forget the whole world knows most citizens don't like him anymore..If he wins majority of d votes, its def not d citizens who voted.
ReplyDeleteSo--we are on d verge of been enslaved for yet anoda 6yrs#
ReplyDeleteWith our sweat and blood,we would make sure GEJ becomes the first man to rule this country for 3 terms.one with God is a majority, with GEJ an evident case study.carry on GEJ,we love you!!!!
ReplyDeleteIDIOT
DeleteA failed president
ReplyDeleteGEJ actually wants to run for re-election? i cant believe Nigerians are gonna endure another four years of no development from 2015, *SMH
ReplyDeletewith his power of incumbency and knowing PDP,the sad truth is that he will win so its high time we stood up for what we want o, lets all say NO to GEJ come 2015
Palo,hahah..u can't do anitin..so shut up ,sit down,on the tv and watch Jega announce him winner..
DeleteMy candid advice to you Linda, just stop mixing your blog with Nigerian politics,if you really want this blog to continue thriving in its high rate as it is now, just continue with your social life blogs..unless you want to go down like omojuwa.com who has been the blog boy of el-rufai where they feed clowns with false stories and allegations.
ReplyDeleteJonathan is very crafty sha......no sane lawyer can challenge the eligibility cos the provisions of the constitution is boldly written and needs no judicial interpretation...its so obvious the suit originated from the President's camp...so go figure
ReplyDeleteI don't think I will vote for darkness
ReplyDeleteSuck it guys, he must win ..,ntorrrrrrr power to d people PDP
ReplyDeleteOf course he is eligible.
ReplyDeleteBut he shall contest and he shall lose woefully!!!
He will not loose ohh..ur vote won't count...nd he will win..u. People shld see that...things are distravting him too much.please..vote him..one more term..pleade..

ReplyDeleteExcuse me...do u expect err one in nigeria to have job...if u can't get a job..find something doing, cuz if u wait for GEJ nd hiz crew,u will grow old..buh he still has my vote..
DeleteHe won't go and do things that will make us want to vote for him in 2015. Instead he'll be there submitting request and petition for 2015. Since he came to power all we've heard is this 2015. And by the way Mr Presido, rainy season has finished and so has electricity. In other words it was what I said from the start. July to December is always better than the earlier half when it comes to electricity so nothing special was done.
ReplyDeleteYea,that's true..buh he will win come 2015..An Hasua man won't rule us..please..I know one die..
DeleteYou did fool replying everyone's comment, e be like say you be him family member abi, na una dey chop the money, that's why you are beggin us to vote him come 2015.. Y'all shall be put to shame..you gon lose that shit mhen..you all goin down mo'fuckers.. Dammy

ReplyDeleteThe worst president Nigeria has ever had. Nigerians - this is your chance to show the stuff you are made of. you have done it before, you can do it again. GEJ must go in 2015 or sooner.
ReplyDeleteNo government will change a nation until we change our personal lives.let him that's without sin cast the first stone.how many of us wrote our waec, jamb & other exams by ourselves, how many of us obey trafic rules, though We may call these things minor issues but that's how deligence comes.he that's faithful in little is already faithful in much.poeple call jonathan a lazy bone because he didn't kill back the northerners who claimed poeples lives via bomb explosions, then do we say Gen.obasanjo was right to have commanded troops to invade ODI town in bayelsa?killing & burning of houses.we soon forget that law of karma is still at work.we change we so desire begins with you.
ReplyDeleteDo u guys tink its easy,to be a president..he. Can't concentrate, when this greedy hasusa people will want to rule for ever,if yourba win, they will fight,if igbo win they will fght,I mean, hww do u expect the man to concentrate...he can't even plan his life..its too much for him..u guys shld see nww..to me hiz a good leader, buh some forces in nigeria, are destroyin his government...he has my vote come 2015 nd he will win,and after him,an igbo man should rule..see buhari that said,if he doesn't win, there will be blood shed,nd that's the pperson u want to vote..abi u people don't forget wat he did during his regime..please think twice and vote wisely..
ReplyDeleteNo be only igbo, na benin.. Nonsense! What I know is GEJ aint ruling us 2015 abi na 2016

ReplyDeletei believe that the opposition candidate will determine who will win the next election. That is how the cookies crumble
ReplyDeleteRubbish Gej . God will answer our prayers the Abachas way. Be warns.
ReplyDeleteDame Patience Jonathan is definitely @ work! She is d one controlling Uncle Jonathan. GEJ is merely carrying out d wishes of DPJ. But GOD pass dem
ReplyDelete- Nicolo
Who would have stopped him before? This is a non issue and a complete distraction This government is one of the most corrupt in naija recent history and lack the political will to fight. What a mistake!
ReplyDeleteYou can talk all d BS bottomline is ,he'll run & win in 2015.is Jona d cause of nigeria's problem? How long has he been there?what abt ur previous dictators who milked this country dry? We should learn to encourage & support our own.why all d insults? Because he's a southerner ?mscheeeew
ReplyDeleteDo you guys know why GEJ is so slow Only because he is always get himself drunk. He is always late for appointment, You can imagine he will be so drunk before making up and dressing him , with this he would not talk much that is why is always looking like a fool on the screen. All the staff in Aso Rock know about this but for Naira power everyone kept a seal leaps. Come 2015 he would not dare to contest.
ReplyDeleteHeard this gist b4,from sum1 very close to d family,that he's a drunk,as in always drunk. What a loser
DeleteThat Lawyer "Njoku" is daft o! See the sort of Lawyers Nigeria produces. Even a baby would know he is eligible to run in 2015.
ReplyDeleteJona remember abacha.
ReplyDeleteI'm convinced dat its time we constitute ourselves into groups 2 educate our pple in preparatn 4 2015.We can't let ds few guys continue 2 fool us. Enough is Enough. "OPERATION RECLAIM NIGERIA"-Nicolo
