Nigerian Billionaire, Folorunsho Alakija, owns N18b UK property

According to a report released last weekend by American lifestyle magazine, Vanity Fair, Nigerian oil Tycoon, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija owns five apartments in London’s One Hyde Park, the world’s most expensive apartment block.

Vanity Fair in their report wrote that Mrs Alakija owns five apartments in the 6,000 pounds-per-square-feet apartment block which she bought at a combined fee of $123 million (N18.4billion), making her the second highest property owner in the upmarket area after Rinat Akhmetov, Ukraine’s richest man and owner of Ukranian football club, Shaktar Donesk, whose property is valued at $215.9 million.

Others who own property at One Hyde Park include some of the richest men in Britain, Russia, Taiwan, sheiks from UAE, Naomi Campbell's boyfriend Vladislav Doronin also owns an apartment there.

According to the investigation by tax haven expert, Nicholas Shaxton, who wrote the report for Vanity Fair, just 17 of the 76 sold apartments are primary residences. Because the property owners are so wealthy, many of them have other homes and do not use their exclusive Hyde Park address as their permanent home. Shaxton also revealed that many of the owners use offshore companies to buy the homes to enable them hide their identity.

  54. What WORLD RICHEST Nigerians like Folorunsho Alakija Aliko Dangote Mike Adenuga have in common? Government PATRONAGE main source of income.

In the Nigerian MIRACLE a daft hair dresser gets 1 Oil Block and becomes WORLDS RICHEST BLACK WOMEN. A lunatic retired General like Danjuma gets his own OIL BLOCK & informs the world he does not even know what to do with his money.

Government stifles competition and allocate Aliko Dangote sole right to import rice, cement and supply same to Nigerian Army and he becomes AFRICA'S RICHEST MAN. Hard working Nigerian business men and women, innovators, scientists and even intellectuals who PLAY BY THE RULES are wallowing in PENURY.

The craze is even spreading to younger generation of Nigerians. A smart Nigerian mobilise Nigerians under a very attractive project of LIGHT UP NIGERIA. He gets hundreds of thousands of LIKES on social media converting same to praising those who are responsible for bringing DARKNESS into Nigeria and the LIGHT UP NIGERIA smart dood becomes an overnight million owner. It is such a jungle in Nigeria that breaking rules is the MAIN road to success and to cap it all Imams Babalawos and Pastors are smiling to the bank as a result of HARVEST THANKSGIVING.

    What a HOLE of COUNTRY!

    To Whom it May Concern,
Ever so frequently I see these sensational headlines regarding Nigeria or Nigerians online. When I look to find alternative sources for confirmation, I find pretty much the same articles plastered across Nigerian websites. I've looked at the Vanity Fair website and searched for Folorunsho Alakija - there are no results. Granted, there it could be that they mentioned her real estate investments in a side bar and so do not have a full article on her. However, even if it's not the case in this particular situation, people are constantly publishing things without sufficient backup for their claims. I don't doubt this woman's wealth or that she could very well have done what the stories claim, but the regular exaggerated BS makes it so difficult to separate fact from fiction.

  65. Folurunsho Alakija's wealth is a product of massive corruption. The oil lock belonging to Niger Delta people and Nigerians in general was given to Alakija's by Babangida through a corrupt process. She has never hustled for anything in live. If the President of Nigeria decides to give anybody an oil block, it is not rocket science that you will be wealthy. I puke when the social media praises these thieves and rogues and try to make them heroes and heroines. The poor in Nigeria are cursed to be poor and to suffer eternally, for as long as the few with access to our commonwealth continue to loot and appropriate all for themselves to the exclusion of the majority. Stop the glorification of the Alakija's, they are recipients of stolen property and are thieves on a large scale. Chikena.

Me i admire any woman who has made a BIG SUCCESS from life. She plays in a turf where some men fear to tread for that i celebrate her abeg lets leave biff talk true and just be happy for her.
