How weird! Japanese pop star shaves hair & makes public apology for dating

20 year old Japanese pop star, Minami Minegishi, was made to shave her hair and make a public apology for - wait for this - spending the night with her boyfriend! Lol. What???

Minami, who is a member of popular Japanese girl's band AKB48, made the tearful apology after a gossip magazine in her country printed photos of her leaving her boyfriend's house after spending the night with him. She actually covered her face with surgical mask and a baseball cap, but she was still discovered.

Her band has a strict rule that members are not allowed to be involved in any sexual relations and her group management made her shave her hair, which is a traditional act of contrition in Japan and make an apology video which was posted on the band's website, then Youtube.

In the video, Minami said she had been thoughtless and immature and was very sorry. *can't watch*. See the video after the cut...

      Funny enough, her teeth are probably intentional and if you ask her, and her fellow Japanese, they'll tell you it's attractive. It's even possible she got them done by a cosmetic dentist. This weird trend is popular in Japan. And it's called Yaeba. Scattered, misshapen, odd and fanged teeth are considered beautiful, because it makes them look youthful, like the imperfections of a child. They actually pay dentists to make their teeth look that way. For all you know, she has got dental implants to give her Those rabbit teeth.

      All of this boils down to the fact that Japanese, Chinese, Koreans, etc, cherish youthfulness and purity. They would do anything to seem young. That's probably the reason why her management hounded her like that.

      It's probably her bands image to come across as 14 year olds, so the thought of her engaging in 'adult activities' like sex, breaks the illusion.

      I'm sure if we google her or her band, you'd see images of them dressing up like little girls, singing like little girls, and probably dancing with some childish props (teddy bears, animated cupcakes) that only Katy Perry can get away with.

      I really hate this part of their culture. They over-sexualize youth.

    its a conservative society they have. but i dont get them sometimes because i knew a twenty five yr old japanese woman who was so scared of guys, apparently some perverted men touched her on their public transport as a teenager and since then, she hasnt been all there. i wonder when they allow the women to start dating/marry/sexing
