Its great money but people like ferisony saying they are made, need to broaden their mind. This money can go easily in 1 yr.

As for natl honours, we've long made it cheap, so what difference does it make? If folks like nollywood stars can get it, why not them.

As much as i agree that the national team should be rewarded but doling out this kind of money to them for doing what they should ordinarily be doing (winning competitions) is just trash. We have people who cannot afford to eat a meal or feed their children, hardworking people who just havent been fortunate in life, we have bad roads, poor electricity, minimum wage that cannot feed families comfortably and Jonathan has the effrontery to dole out OUR money in a useless way!!!!!God punish you stupid man!

  116. Nigerians amaze me ple still talking abt d less previleged no mather how any1 gives to charity it will never be enough, but what has that got to do with this nigerian football has been a mess and now this they deserve this and even more it's 19 years since we won the naton cups. So other than hide under people are suffering umbrella just accept it's jeolosy and hate cos if they were ur bros or boyfriend only then would u have admitted that d fed gov has done well thanking and motivating ahead world cup qualiflnals. And if reli don't care if nigeria wins or losess then it's a shame cos even chirst encouraged us to be patrotic

    ReplyDelete
  117. When they see stories about people that actually need the money, they'll just look the other way....its sad.I am not saying the Super Eagles don't deserve em tho....

    ReplyDelete
  118. Na only Amokachi and the home based players go need this kain money. What is 5m to Mikel Obi? Mikel go just dash one of him babes. Afterall, he makes more than double that in a week..

On a more serious note sha, I understand that these guys deserved it and all that but what will now happen if they win World Cup? How does Nations Cup change all the useless problems that these politicians and their friends are causing the ordinary Nigerian people on the streets? This President needs to be flogged walahi..

    ReplyDelete
  119. @ Anon 3:02:
Weep more for your ignorance than for Nigeria. In advanced countries like the UK national honors are given to athletes. I tire for Nigerians. Its almost impossible to please you guys. After 19yrs of going without any relevance whatsoever in a game we once dominated, these boys gave us a reason to rejoice. There is no amount or honor given to the boys that would suffice as being too much. They truly deserve every penny they receive. How much is N5m to the boys that play internationally? I bet they earn more than that in a week. Good for the home based players most of whom have gone without pay for sometime. If e pain u go buy soccer boots and change career!!!!!
