Attackers behead North Korean doctor, kill two others in Yobe state

Two days after nine health workers were killed in Kano, three doctors were this morning killed in Yobe State.

The Yobe state police commissioner Sanusi Rufai told the AFP news agency that armed men entered the doctors' flat in the town of Potiskum either late last night or early this morning and slit their throats.

They say a North Korean doctor was beheaded while two others - either North Koreans or Chinese had their throats slit.

The doctors worked at the General Hospital in Potiskum and they routinely travelled through the town without security guards. How sad!

  2. RIP to those doctors.

Linda, just wondering if you know how Ngozi Nwosu is doing. I was watching one of her movies the other day and remembered her. I hope she's OK. She was really funny in Akirika.

    2. Just take time to seek knowledge so dat u dont die bin shallow minded. Bcos sm untrue muslims decided to be evil mind does dat makes all muslim d same. Dont we hav pastors do evil stuff as well? Do u think bcos of dat we shld say all christerns are evil. Now let me nourish ur ignorance, take 4 example if u buy a new car n u give it to a bad drive who later destroy d car, is it d car's fault or d driver? I believe ur sense of reasoning shld tell u is d driver. Religion is like a new car but we hav different bad driver of religion. Wat matters is how we drive our religion individually. Both Christernity n Islamic religion preach peace.

  20. this is heartless.the victims, includin those killed in kano yesterday were people on humanitarian mission who came to help us.just today,i saw on NTA a beautiful lady severely disabled by polio and it makes me wonder what Boko Haram and other terrorists have against anti-polio health workers. a polio disabled child is burden to his parents and society and grows up frustrated .i think Muslims should rise up against Boko Haram which i consider the greatest enemy of Islam for it gives the religion bad name. The taliban is doing th same in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
My heart goes out to the victims and their families.the death of any man diminishes me because i am part of mankind.

  26. Okay I am getting really confused. So you take out genocide on military and law enforcement.... that makes a little sense because you want to scare people not to work for the govt or so that people do not have any security when you unleash mayhem, you aso attack christian becase from day one we know you religious fanatics are not tolerant and cannot accept other religion aside from your demonic one... but these bastards are now attacking health workers???these workers are doing good, saving lives... do these misguided fools want to completely destroy the north. I just dont get it

  27. People are getting savagely mutilated in Nigeria and our dumbazz of a president is in London spreading wings over a cake....priorities severely misplaced.

  29. Have said this times without numbas that they're many groups out now who re more dreaded kin the north than Boko Haram.. It pains me that most of our brothers & sista in West, East and South do not knw the magnitude of killing and damages done in the North.... This is jst one of many killings and I guess dis bcome news bcause dey re foreigners.. Killings re done everyday in large numba and the government re not doing much.. This is not a good country, Little re been done bcos the people in power re not carrying their own dead bodies..I hve visited Postisum so many times and I understd how things re been done.. If u re travelling to far North, immediately u pass BAUCHI jst believe that anything can happen and u re close to death.. This is not d time to sympathize but to stand up and b Defensive.. 'Still WATCHING FROM MY OCEAN.

  39. What is a south Korean doctor doing working in a place like the Northern Nigeria? Maybe he is a fake doctor like those Egyptians/Arabs who are Lab technologists but working as doctors/surgeons down there. Well, may his soul rest in peace.
Definitely all the people doing these killings are not Nigerians because there is nothing to be gained when u kill a doctor[genuine/fake] who is supposed to be treating/'treating' your own people.

  40. God shall judge these evil doers.they shall end up badly.

  48. Who did the killings? BH? These random killings make no sense. First schools and church's, now health institutions and health personnel? I must be missing the point.

Perchance are these the people that dumped all those bodies into the river?
Where or what are the security agencies doing?

This is unfortunate. May their souls rest in peace.

    1. Wtf - think before you write comments. The president has not taken the boko haram issue seriously. Why is he in London celebrating when people are being killed on a daily basis in Nigeria. His job is to govern the country not to party about in foreign land. If British government allows some group of people to kill as they wish will Jonathan and his corrupt gangs feel safe to party in London? He has being stealling money all this while nothing Nigerians can do about it but he should do his job. Sort out boko haram

  66. @5:09, many doctors, myself included , do a LOT of volunteer/missionary work though out our careers. I met some of these Korean doctors when I went to Yobe in 2011 and they seemed competent. Just because you don't have the spirit of helping even your mother, doesn't mean you should insult people who do. That's why a lot of us became doctors...to help the less fortunate, and trust me, a lot of very unfortunate things happen in these areas. I was even offered a job in Yobe state, free house, everything., just to come and help them. Have you been to Yobe? It takes a real selfless person to live there....there is NADA there...and now they were murdered. I can only heave a sigh and move on...

    ReplyDelete
  67. If we don't deal with them decisively and let them know that they can be made to pay for their actions I guess all of these will continue... No deal or negotiation will end this. They are like a keg of gunpowder and negotiating with them doesn't take them away it's like coating them with more layers of wrapping, the gunpowder can still go off. When the govt is truely ready to tackle this menace im sure they know what to do. See more of this in Femi Fani Kayode's article on boko haram
