Video: Police ordered the killing of my private secretary - Oshiomhole

The Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has accused the Nigerian Police of being responsible for the assassination of his Special Adviser and Personal Secretary, Olaitan Oyerinde.

Mr Oshiomhole, who was speaking on Thursday in Abuja during the launching of the new code of conduct for the Nigerian police, said both the assassin and the weapon used to murder the late Oyerinde were in police detention as at the time the assassination was carried out.

  7. I totally agree with his conclusion if it's true that the suspected murderer and murder weapon were in police custody as at the time of the murder.

Nothing new here anyway. NPF has been committing murders for ages, killing even their colleagues...

  18. Hmmm.Police again at work,as if these is what the law permits them to do. As for we in the north here we know what the police can do, you Would rather stay with BH than dem coz BH hav a list v their targets unlike d police that go abt shooting n killing people for no reason. These would nevr stop till d govt collects all weapons from the law enforcement and leav them with dat black wooden stick.May God guide us

  20. Oshiomole is very blunt and says it as it is, If he says †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ NPF has a hand in †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ assasination, then I am sure they do.
All those on here calling for a thorough investigation who is gonna carry out †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ investigation? Abeg e †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ NPF has been known to do such in †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ past so I am not in †̥ђε̲̣̣̣̥ least bit surprised.

  21. NPF are the useless element have ever seen in Naija, they can kill their mother all bcos of money. It is not today they had been perpetrated evil deeds(Politician errand Boyz) despite the fact that they are assigned to protect citizen but reverse is the case. If they could kill the whole Attorney General of the Federation (Bola Ige) like chicken, so who are we?

  23. I admire the governor's courage. His logic is sound and consistent but he ended up with a suggestion that tends to imply that the punishment for murder is dismissal from the police force. I think it should be prosecution and then if found guilty, should face life sentence or death by hanging. Unless by dismissal the governor meant suspension to allow the case to be thoroughly investigated and, in which case, he is right. I am your Lawyer from Hell

  24. The governor ought to have sued the police if he thinks the evidence he has is weighty enough to nail the police. He has forgotten that it is the same police that protects him as governor.. more news and gist here at www.gistyinka.com
