The armed robbery attack on Lagos commissioner, Segun Oniru

Lagos State commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, and one of the sons of Oba Idowu Oniru, the Oniru of Iruland, Prince Segun Oniru, was attacked by armed men on Friday December 21st near Four Points By Sheraton Hotel in Oniru.

The prince, his police orderly and driver were coming from an event on that Friday evening when another SUV hit his SUV violently from the back as they approached a bump. As they got out of their car to inspect the extent of damage, the men in the other SUV came down and fired shots at them. Prince Segun Oniru's orderly was killed at the scene, his driver ran off and Prince Oniru in panic got back into his car. The robbers entered his car and drove him around the area after robbing him of his phones, credit cards, and all his money.

Prince Oniru escaped the robbers by jumping out of his car as the robbers approached a bump near where he was attacked.

The prince was treated for bullet wounds but luckily no bullet penetrated his body.
Please when a car hits you from behind at night, do not come out to inspect...they are probably armed robbers

    1. Oga the article never spoke of assassins & next time check the spelling of your (assasins).

BTW: The Oniru family should know that the extortion and criminal acts going on at Oniru beach is their making, very soon that place would be worse than kuramo...

2ndly, am happy these robbers have learnt to leave the poor and middle class alone, they now attack banks and the wealthy. But let him that rob know that someday soon nemesis will catch up with him/her.

Thanks to fashola for also making Gidi less crime prone.

This tactics by hoodlums has been on for sometime now, they started with bike (okada) ,hit your car from behind and wait until you get down then they pounce on you,the ban of okada on major highways reduced it and now they are using cars, citizens should be careful. They usually do this things at night...God will continue to keep us

  29. This happened to me late last year. Got out to inspect and got bundled back into my car with a gun pressed to my side.

To cut the long story short, was robbed of all accessories and my car. Luckily though, tracked the car some days later and recovered it.

When driving in Lagos especially at night and on the island, if you are bashed, drive faster!!!

Thihype why I'd rather stay here in London jèjé...Nigeria is worse than Mehico... The oniru dude should cut down on his partying saw him rolling with Dbanj before the concert... Is he a kid or what. 63. Robbery attacks has increased in the past few months. In abuja, they hide somewhere and throw a heavy rock at your car, and if you are unlucky, it'll shatter your screen,or better still, hit you, and if u try to park and check, its doomsday for you. It happened to my friend, but he didn't stop, though his side mirror was shattered, and at the next stop he saw some police men and reported the incident. Guess what the idiots said "ah, na true o, na so dem dey do, especially for that angle"! Imagine! be careful people....TC
