Vice President Namadi Sambo to get a N2billion home

Our Vice President is getting a home worth N2 billion from the government of Nigeria. There's a N50bn budget for the Federal Capital Territory and N2bn, according to the FCT Minister Bala Mohammed, is going into the construction of the official residence of Vice President Namadi Sambo, while N300 million is for the construction of the official residences of Senate president David Mark and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu; the Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal; and his deputy, Emeka Ihedioha.

So my question is; if they are building new homes for these people, where were they living before now? First a N2bn 150-seater banquet hall, now a N2bn home for the VP. This is the priority of the Government of a country where more than half the population live on under $1 a day. #Standingovation

Oh and Julius Berger is handling the home construction, with 20 months as completion period.

  2. I remember driving through Aso Rock and being awed by the wide expanse of land on which the former V.P of Nigeria Akhaji Atiku Abubakar lived. Not to talk of the architectural masterpiece that sat on the land. Now my question. Did Atiku not hand over the keys of the mansion to his successor? I thought it was an official residence? Why are they building another one when they have such beauty lying fallow? Does the Nigerian constitution stipulate that office holders are to be the beneficiary of official materials. And properties? If this is so, what will beleft of Nigeria in the next 100 years?

  5. I weep for Nigeria. What is annoying is that it is our money,the poeples money but a few are seating on it and using it for their own selfish needs forgetting that for any body that dies through bad healthcare, hunger,badroad,poverty,and so on, there is a curse placed on them and their generation.

  7. Let us do the math... It is more important to allocate 4% of the budget to build a residence for the VP which can build 2000 council homes at d cost of a million naira assuming they decide to use direct labour as a church did in Venezuela building 3 bedroom concrete homes for $3000 dollars a piece excluding the cost of land. I believe Nigeria is Fucked to hell with the leadership so indescribably inefficient and retarded in a true pure intelligence comparative. Our schools are now laughed at, people overseas are beginning to feel ashamed to say they schooled in Nigeria For those that schooled there guven d quality of today's largely ignorant graduates from nigerian schools due to poor funding for stuff considered as basic even in other not so rich and looked-down-upon other african countries and their universities. Recently the economist reported Nigeria is d worst pllace in the whole damn world for a woman to have a baby and it is sambo's official residence that is more important ? fuck Nigeria!!!

  119. I think what you posted made a lot of sense. But, what about
    this? suppose you added a little information? I ain't saying your content isn't good,
    but suppose you added something to possibly get folk's attention? I mean "Vice President Namadi Sambo to get a N2billion home" is kinda vanilla. You might look at Yahoo's front page and watch how they write article titles to grab people to open the links.
    You might add a video or a related picture or two to get readers excited about
    what you've got to say. In my opinion, it could make your blog a little bit more interesting.

Deadlines haven't worked with PHCN, haven't worked with roads construction, haven't worked with social infrastructure, corruption (I could go on and on). The Reason: insufficient funding.
    Will it work this time? Will there be sufficient funds to give our VP a grand Palace? Will the Palace be completed as at when due? Is this the priority of the leaders steering a nation that's drifting into debt again? I wonder, I just wonder...

    In 1787, Alexander Tyler of the University of Edinborough wrote that all democracies go through eight stages, two hundred years being the average cycle time. The stages are

    From bondage to spiritual faith;
    From spiritual faith to great courage;
    From courage to liberty;
    From liberty to abundance;
    From abundance to complacency;
    From complacency to apathy;
    From apathy to dependence;
    From dependence back to bondage
