Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's kidnapped mum has been freed

The 82-year old mother of the Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Prof. Kamene Okonjo, has been released five days after she was kidnapped by unknown gunmen from her home in Ogbe-Ofu quarters, Ogwashi -Uku, Aniocha south local government area of Delta state.
Dr Okonji-Iweala's spokesman confirmed her mother's release in a statement. See it below...
“I can confirm that Professor Mrs. Kamene Okonjo, wife of the Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, Professor Chukuka Okonjo and mother of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy/Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was released this morning, five days after her abduction. The Okonjo Family is full of thanks to the Almighty for this happy development. The family is also highly appreciative of the support and encouragement of President Goodluck Jonathan; the Country’s security services for their excellent operations; Governors Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta, Peter Obi of Anambra, Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers and other Governors…"

I also pray that this kidnappers will ask for forgiveness because they always bring curses upon themselves and their families when they put other people through agony. I cannot fathom why people will take delight in hurting other people just because of money. In case any kidnapper or their family members are reading this, please stop kidnapping people. There are better and legitimate ways to make money. You will live a decent, happy, stress free, wonderful, and peaceful life with legitimately earned money.

  57. Is dis a coincidence? Let's check. * Day 1: Ngozi's mother was kidnapped

Day 2: Kidnapers made contact and requested for $1billion to free her.

Day 3: GEJ requested N161billion for supplimentary budget. (19 days to end the year) $1b = N160billion

Day 4: Senate approves $1billion for GEJ.

    Day 5Kidnappers released Ngozi's mother.

Jonathan's brother dies in aso rock hospital this reflects our health system(I stand to be corrected)

I have to say it nice to hear of the release of Ma Okonjo, that she wasnt hurt; reading through these comment you can see how much distrust a people have in their government, i dont blame them co its where the government has put themselves with the corruption and inability to stick to what they say, take for example America 'We do not negotiate with terrorists' has always been their way everyone knows that because they keep to it... But still no matter the method used to save a life (apart from corruption) is worth it....

I feel the pple in power are more cursed than blessed and selfish plus greedy. That's why bad things should happen to them sometimes so they can feel the pains of the pple.

Kidnapping is horrible, and until your own family member is kidnapped, it will never sink in! I had a parent who was kidnapped, and trust me, I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. Its more than even paying ransom and having the person released, but even dealing with the after effects, emotional, and even physical health (long term).
